Location Location Location. A Lovely warm welcome from Steve the General Manager who was very knowledgeable and helpful and enriched my happy stay at The Chesterhouse. I was a Solo Traveler not associated with the Coach Party that were arriving at the same time yet Steve made sure I got a lovely hot meal on arrival after an early start and quite a long day travelling. Lovely Spotless Clean Hotel perhaps a little Vintage, but the Staff and the food were excellent. A lovely cooked breakfast every morning to start the day off right and a larger than average room with piping hot water in the shower and a lovely comfortable bed for a sound nights sleep. Again the Staff at this establishment are a cut above average and I will definitely be back.

Place is being updated, still some work to do. It was clean with new seating areas. Dining area was clean and upto date. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice, special diets catered for. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. View from the seating/dining area out to the port and bay was fantastic. Bedroom was adequate with TV and coffee/tea making facilities and a comfortable bed but no view. Plenty of very hot water. Bedroom was cleaned and tidied every day. No problems with the WiFi.

Stairs. Plenty of stairs! Not a dislike/problem for us as we are still pretty mobile but we heard others complaining about the stairs. There is a small lift but there is still a need to use stairs to access some rooms.

We were on the IOM for the TT and chose the Chesterhouse for our last night, as it was located close to Douglas ferry port. We found the hotel very clean and in good order. Our room was comfortable and conveniently situated near stairs on the first floor, enabling easy loading\unloading of our motorcycle luggage. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and we had dinner later in their restaurant. The staff were all friendly and helpful. All in all a good overnight stay. We would stay there again, if the opportunity presented itself.

The agreed check in time was delayed, due to a large number of people checking out at the same time (meaning rooms weren’t quite ready). Our room window overlooked the kitchen area, which has noisy extraction fans, but these were thankfully turned off during the night.

Location. Lift available. Plenty of choice for breakfast good, delicious. Family room great size, comfortable and modern with tea facilities and excellent sea view. Friendly and helpful staff. Lounge with comfortable chairs and sofa with great view and toilet downstairs, great especially for a couple of hours while waiting for ferry after check out time. Parking on door step and nearby.

Double room dated but understand part of hotel still being refurbished. Side room of building not much light or view. Bed not so comfortable. Rooms too warm good for some but need option for fan. Shower manageable- water temperature had it's own mind, went from warm, hot, cold etc no matter what we did with the control taps! Same in double & triple room. Did not like glass bowl lights took too much space on side cabinet. Coat hooks and shelf would be handy on wall behind door.

Beautiful hotel and beautiful staff. I couldn’t fault anything about the Chesterhouse. It was clean, the room was spacious with all of the extras we needed (toiletries, ironing board, tea/ coffee facilities, TV, comfy beds and a hairdryer). The staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was lovely. Lots to choose from- hot and cold and a warm welcome every morning reserving the best seats in the restaurant on our last day. A must if you’re going to the gorgeous Isle of Man.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property

The hotel is in a fantastic location, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was buffet style and delicious. The staff are kind and friendly particularly in the restaurant.

The hallways are narrow upstairs and would have liked a front of hotel room I didn’t realise this needed to be requested upon booking, I asked reception but all the rooms were full so couldn’t swap. sleep was disturbed with loud seagulls and pigeons that were congregating at the back of the room (not hotels fault) maybe take earplugs if this will bother you.

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Room was spacious, with sea view which is top priority for me, and all the basics I could need were there. Breakfast was great to start the day with, even though I slept through the second morning.

I am particular about the beds I sleep on and the bed in my room felt a bit too rough to my tastes, but I understand that it is just me personally. It was a bit noisy outside at night, but it was during the weekend and it's not the hotel's fault. Oh, and also I hate sinks with two taps.

The older lady and gentleman who were working reception when we arrived were very helpful and friendly, perfect hosts. The staff in the breakfast room were also very pleasant and efficient, we received our coffee pots and teapots very quickly when we were seated each morning. The breakfast bar itself provided a generous choice of hot and cold foods, it also had a very efficient toaster. Our large bedroom room had a great view of the promenade. Good water pressure in the shower.

The sprung mattresses

Great location, right beside a bus stop. Very clean room. Efficient housekeeping staff who respected, Do Not Disturb sign. Very comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast choices. Charming staff, both at reception and in the dining room and bar. The ever cheerful Joy. Delicious draught Guinness.

Not the hotels fault, but just over the street from a noisey pub/ restaurant which is open until 3am at weekends. Very, very loud music and patrons outside for smokes! Somewhat iffy shower unit. Beautiful design, but tended to pulse hot then cold, then hot again.

I stayed here last year and was blown away by high quality of this hotel but being there again this year only let my already high expectations and more. The property is located within Douglas with shops and local transport literally on the door step. It was clean and tidy and well presented. The food in this hotel is absolutely gorgeous also we had breakfast here each morning and the same as last time it was cooked to perfection and there was always loads to go around. To completely tie up this whole experience the staff in this hotel are some of the nicest people I’ve ever come across, massive shoutout to Ange and her team in the dining room for the quality service they provided each morning, I’m gutted I didn’t get the others names but there was a woman who was originally from South Africa and a Woman with blonde hair and glasses, both of them along with Ange worked hard to ensure everyone was well looked after and they didn’t stop there, my nanny who usually was round before me and my mum was so well looked after by these three amazing person, they served her morning coffee and got her breakfast for her (something they didn’t have to do) and they did this with the biggest and warmest hearts and that is something that was greatly appreciated by me and my mum, the front desk team (Jack and a younger girl with dark brown hair) where exceptional also, they really are the best people to be the front of the house, they are so welcoming and helpful and nothing was ever too much, I did see the younger girl having to deal with a rude guest who became extremely angry and was shouting at this girl (again apologies I didn’t get her name) and she handled the situation with the most professional ways and manner and for me that showed the most professional mannerisms as a few times me and my nanny where wanting to tell the rude guest to wise up and stop getting on like this.

Nothing, everything was perfect as always
