Great location, lovely rooms, spotless.

Didn’t like being asked what exact time for breakfast for every day. Suggested a shortage in staff. I think that was reason. No room service either. Returned from golf 5 minutes beyond 9pm and were told kitchen closed end of story. Not even the option for a cold sandwich. Plenty staff in bar. Surely easy to make a cheese and ham sandwich. Ended up driving to a petrol station locally. Not great given it’s a £250+ per night hotel. Would be 5 star if they sorted out that stuff. Didn’t dine there as a result of the breakfast scheduling fiasco.

It feels homely and welcoming. It’s cosy and comfortable.

So many dogs! We were dog owners and loved our dogs, but they would never have been taken by us to hotels. The bar area was full of dogs on the Friday evening and it’s very off-putting when you just want to sit and relax. One larger dog came right up to me and breathed all over me. If you didn’t like dogs or were scared of them then you would never want to go back to the hotel, which is such a shame.

We didn't use the leidure centre as the weather was good and decided to go to the beach instead. The hotel was very clean and staff were friendly. I loved the special touch of having the retro radio in the room. Massage at the spa was amazing.

The hotel needs to look at marching their food with the rest of the facilities. In my view they're missing out on the vegetarians section as their wasn't much choice. I had fish and chips never ate fish that was so greasy. Vegetarian food actually costs less than meat but cooked properly can bring dividends in customers satisfaction. Also many vegetarians don't like to eat vegetarian breakfast food that look like meats therefore that's wasted energy, effort and expense by the hotel. And finally i didn't like the discrepancy of £25+ on my bill although resolved after i pointed it out but not the experience you want to have while on holiday. I hope you find the comments helpful.

Breakfast was not the best- Compared to other Crerar hotels Very limited continental offering (1 or 2 cereals. Yoghurt. Pain au chocolate). Juices not replenished. No ham, cheese, croissants, granola etc Had to ask for toast. Lack of a breakfast manager made things a bit chaotic. Quality of cooked breakfast was great though. Bedrooms are comfortable and good bathrooms but could do with updating as are lagging behind similar hotels. Feather pillows and duvets would also be an improvement

Room huge and very well furnished. Breakfast good - excellent menu of cooked items, but a little limited so far as other items were concerned. Dinner menus a little confusing - two different menus - more limited one expensive (£49 for 2 courses). The larger menu had a good choice, but the items we chose were a little disappointing - e.g. the Prawn Cocktail and the chicken.

Our bathroom was large, with a good shower, but water pressure was poor - and it took ages to become hot - maybe that was because we were on the third floor. The quality of the dinner items on the larger menu was disappointing.

Very nice location. Excellent room with sea view, very good ensuite. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant food was excellent.

The food service was very slow. Waited about 20 mins just to get our coffee after sitting down for breakfast. Waiting staff were polite but very unattentive. The same slow service was given during our two evening meals. I could not get the attention of the staff to order wine, so needed to go back to the bar to order. Then had to go back to bar to chase up wine order. However the food and wine in the restaurant was excellent.

Beautiful property, room was amazing, large and with the sea view topped it off. Roll top bath was a delight! Outdoor hot tub was fantastic and so was the pool area Breakfast great quality and the setting was lovely just on the sea front with amazing views to the Black Isles

Food on the a la carte menu was poor choice and way too overpriced! Just lucky they had the bar menu or would have had nothing to eat, most of the other guests clearly thought the same as ordered off that too. Room was cold as the sash windows let in loads of drafts and rattled in the wind

Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable and the welcome "doggy pack" for our german shepherd was a lovely touch. Food and drink was great albeit the portion sizes were on the small side. The majority of the spa was delightful with beautiful views over the water. Our massages were also wonderful and the staff very friendly and helpful.

The thermal spa! An absolute waste of time and money. The volcanic rock sauna was basically a cooler version of their main sauna with an arm that raised volcanic rocks in and out of an oven then water. The whole process took ages each time and was very underwhelming. You then when in to the himalayan salt room which looks as though it should be warm given the red glow but it was absolutely freezing and not comfortable to sit in for very long. The main hotel spa facilities are great and their normal sauna is lovely - no need to spend an additional £30 per person for the additional "experience" which genuinely felt like a money making scam.

Beautiful hotel and location, direct access to the beach. Room was lovely, really spacious and plenty of tea, coffee and snacks. Breakfast was delicious, staff helpful and friendly. Spa was lovely.

It seems like a small issue but it was our main reason for visiting so was a bit annoying. The spa area allows customers to reserve seats and loungers, with hardly anyone using them, even reserving seats while they were swimming in the sea. Usually spa's have an etiquette sign which includes 'no reserving seats' and people hang their towels up when using the facilities meaning there are seats for everyone when they want them. Small but annoying detail! Other than that the spa is lovely.

Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Although the hotel is dog friendly, they are not allowed in the restaurant so we were offered a table in the bar area for breakfast where we could take our dog which was a great solution. The staff were excellent, chatting to us, making a fuss of our dog too. There was a treat package in our room for our dog along with a water bowl which was a nice gesture. Our room was upgraded and we have a lovely view of the beautiful beach. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and very clean. The tunnocks treats went down very well.

The only downside was on arrival our room was overly hot and stuffy. The only heater that was on was in the bathroom. We switched it off and opened the window which soon cooled the room down.
