The room at the Aurora was perfectly fine and in line with what I expected for the price. It's not a high end hotel, but it isn't priced that way either. If you are looking for a clean room, at great value, with really friendly people greeting you, this is a good choice in Nairn. Plus, the restaurant is very good - I ate there two nights and really enjoyed the Italian meal each time.

Parking was a bit of a challenge as the car park for the hotel is small and somewhat awkward to get into. I ended up parking on the street next to the hotel and that was fine.

Fabulous hotel. We were made to feel very welcome from arriving until we left. The room was big and very clean and the bathroom had a great shower and was light and airy. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. There was a lot of attention to detail in the hotel. The breakfast was hot well cooked and good quality, We ate in the Italian restaurant downstairs in the evening and the food and service was fantastic. The portion size of all the food was very generous. I would definitely return to this hotel and restaurant.

Location of the hotel is very close to the town centre but far enough away for peace and quiet. Restaurant is amazing although the portion sizes of the meals are massive. If there isn't space in the parking area you can park safely in the street. Restaurant food is great.

Bathroom could do with a refit especially the shower, not much heat from the shower and quite a tight space. I was only staying one night and it was adequate. It would be beneficial for guests to know that the portion sizes for meals are large before ordering a starter AND a main. The starter would have been enough for me. Also in this day and age EVERY restaurant should have containers to take away any leftovers. If there is anything I hate more in this world it is food waste. After quite a bit of discussion and at one stage of offering to purchase the plate a container was made available.

What stands out about the Aurora Hotel and Italian Restaurant is the charm and hospitality of the owners and the deliciousness of the food that they serve. We ate dinner both nights in the restaurant because it was just so good. I didn't expect fabulous Italian food in Scotland but I was happy to indulge in it. They were just a capable of making a proper Scottish breakfast as they were making tagliatelle with porcini for dinner. It is a friendly, old-fashioned place with the unexpected bonus of Italian food and charming hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spotless and well furnished, and the bathroom was spacious. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant - fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and served by a gracious staff. Our hosts were fantastic. Our GPS cord was malfunctioning on our road trip, so we searched the nearby shops for a replacement, with no luck since it is an old device. Our host came to our rescue! He searched among his extra cords and surprisingly found one that fit exactly. He let us have it, which truly saved us, as we were only on day three of a ten day trip. That was going the extra mile for their guests!

Not one thing!

It is a victoria vila so there are constraints, yet the rooms are comfortable, the linen crisp, the bathroom clean and a good size. The best thing about the hotel is the staff - a family of Italiens who put their heart and soul into being welcoming hosts. The father in particular is a bit of a character and he will talk to you on any subject under the sun!. We really enjoyed the stay.

Probably a bit more variety at breakfast but since most people do not stay more than 2-3 nights, it is hardly an issue. The cooked breakfast is fresh and tasty and the scrambled eggs are almost on a par with mine!!

Up for a 2 day archery competition a few miles away. Wanted somewhere close with basic facilities and good value just to lay my weary head. Delivered in spades with a single top floor room with private shower room/loo. To be fair, room/bathroom was small, but fine for a single traveller. Add in great staff and a couple of excellent breakfasts and I was very happy. Ate in restaurant too, very good. It's not luxury accommodation by any means, but did all the basics well. Overall, very happy

Car park can be challenging, but plenty of roadside parking.

All the staff very welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Good to find accommodation which included breakfast. I had a single room at the back of the house and it had everything I needed. The location was excellent for the town, the beaches and the bus station.

As it's an old building there are noisy floorboards so best to take ear plugs if you're sensitive to that, also because of the seagulls, which were very noisy already at 3.30 am!

Evening meal and cooked breakfast were both first class and very enjoyable. The staff were all excellent at their jobs and very well mannered. All the staff were very attentive and they also had a first class knowledge of the area. Given the chance I will return.

As I am slightly disabled, my next visit I would request a lower floor as I struggled a wee bit with the stairs.

The location was ideal for my visit to Nairn. The room was very clean and comfortable and was excellent value for money. The breakfast was superb. The host was very friendly and accommodating.

Car parking was a little tight but I managed having arranged to park earlier while going to my meeting. There is however plenty of space on the street immediately outside the car park entrance.
