Location OK, but out of main hotel. Would have been unpleasant to walk there if wet.

Service at dinner could have been better. We ordered the Wine Flight, but they forgot to bring the wine with the first course. OK, it happens, but what they did was just give us the first course wine at the end. Not what you want then really. It would have been better to offer us a digestive, either a Brandy, or maybe just a G&T. Also during dinner we were asked if we wanted more bread (it was delicious) and said yes, but then had to remind them twice to bring it. When it came, warm, asked for more butter, but by the time that came, after a reminder, the bread had cooled. Little things, as overall the food is excellent, but at the price they charge you would expect better.

The breakfast was excellent. The location other worldly, in a very good way. Perfect for relaxing. Beautiful grounds, Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. A place with a special identity and character.

Safety made me concerned. There were unsecured mats on a wooden floor. Every time I walked on them, I could feel them moving. Even more concerning was the bath/shower. No grabrail to keep you safe ascending and descending. No special mats to stop your feet slipping inside the rounded base of the bath. A fall in such a scenario would be serious.

Beautiful location and grounds, immaculate accommodation, charming and super cosy. Restaurant and food was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were welcoming, friendly and made us feel so comfortable bringing our young baby to dinner. The most lovely stay we have had in years.

The property is set over impressive acreage with beautiful gardens to explore, a walled garden, lake complete with outdoor sauna and garden kitchen restaurant. The properties interior is exquisitely designed with beautiful breakfast, drawing and whiskey room. Each bedroom is individually designed giving an ever so slight difference in feel. Callum was generous enough to show me some of the rooms for my next stay and it was hard to choose as there wasn’t a bad room!

Breakfast was superb - delicious homemade granola with yoghurt plus extras and beautifully cooked full scottish breakfast. And dinner was excellent too! Top marks.

Exceptionally well curated space that elevates your mood as soon as you step through the front door. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom filed with light and the bathtub wonderfully large, the common areas were beautiful and the food delicious. Staff were very friendly and did their best to help at all times. This was my second stay as I enjoyed the first so much I could not wait to come back.

Stunning architecture and surrounding gardens. Nicely decorated interiors as well, although perhaps the drinks area was a bit too trendy compared to the timeless look of the rest of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the soap had a wonderful scent to it. Apples from the garden were on offer in the rooms and tasted like a summer day.

We would have loved to listen to vinyls in the music room, but unfortunately could not figure out the setup and staff were unable to help either.

Breakfast was super, a wonderful menu of variety of choice, we enjoyed fresh fruit from the kitchen garden, homemade choices of vegetarian or cooked full breakfast which set us up for our day of trundles.....

We loved everything, immensely.... the location, the solitude, the utterly beautiful house and grounds.... the staff were delightful and extremely friendly and the food and attention to every detail was incredible.....

Stunning property. Excellent design and art. It was so very relaxed and welcoming - we really felt like we were staying in a home. In particular anne and tien were so wonderful. Worth their weight in gold! Very clean - housekeeper was so lovely too. Also Aesop - astounding! Grounds were lovely and well kept.

Maybe a slightly bigger dinner menu would be good but I appreciate staffing difficulties.

the food was outstanding ,staff were very attentive and Allan the gardener was extremely knowledgeable about the Garden and the house history!
