Comfortable beds in bunk bed room. Every room has a clearly marked bathroom and toilet on the same floor. Perfect for us on our long distance walk (Saint Oswald's way) as it coincided with the end of day 4 of the walk. Right in the center of the village. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money. For a good start of the day, especially for walkers, we recommend the cooked breakfast (to be paid apart).

There is a lounge, unfortunately it was not really usable at the time we were there. The place will be even better once the lounge is sorted.

The Hotel was very convenient In the centre of the village but overlooking a grassy area The staff were very friendly and helpful the food is very good and reasonable The Steak night especially was very good and amazing for the food and value

There were a couple of things thst werent that good in the hotel the room was adequate but the clothes stand in the room was not adequate as we had to keep all our clothes in our travel bag as there was just 2 thin metal hangers Really there should have been a wardrobe and a table and chair as the coffee cups were on the windowsill and the biscuits etc The bed was big enough but quite hard But the bedding was clean and white cotton and the towels were the same The bathroom was small and the sink was very low and it was starting to come off the the wall The door wouldnt close properley into the bathroom It was a shame as if the room was up-graded just a bit it would have been a perfect break!

Been before!a year ago Staff very welcoming Very central for everywhere in Rothbury Lucky with thd weather and Thd food availible later in the week for evening meals is very good and plentiful Breakfasts too were very nice

Our bed was SO! uncomfortable! The matress was so Shot!and It spoilt our sleep It was very lumpy and It definately needed getting rid of and replacing It would have been almost perfect if thst haf been ok!!

We stayed as a overnighter on a cycling trip with a mate. We stopped last year so this was a return visit. The accommodation in the bunk house part of the hotel suited our needs perfectly, basic room but comfortable with a toilet and shower along the corridor (the toilet was exclusively for our use). Staff very friendly and helpful. No meals included in the deal but evening meal and breakfast was available at extra cost. We didn't have an evening meal in the hotel this time but had breakfast. Reasonably priced and good variety. The hotel is located in the centre of Rothbury easy access to restaurants, bars and shops. The property had secure parking for our cycles under cover. Would definitely stop again.

Only one very minor complaint. There was no rubbish bin in the room. I mentioned it to one of the staff and this was an oversight. There is normally one provided.

We love this hotel. It's our 3rd year here the food is fab, even better now it's a grill house. The staff are so helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is spot on lovely food plenty coffee. We book combinations of bunks and rooms.

This is a budget hotel. The bunks have shared bathrooms. The rooms are clean, towels fresh and the staff are fabulous. Some of the furniture is a bit dated but this is a budget hotel/bunkhouse and we have no complaints. Bar area is nice. Upstairs residents lounge was a great place for us all to meet. Chat etc

We had a friendly welcome at the Newcastle Arms by the young lady who showed us to our room. Our bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, our room had a shared bathroom which was close by and we had no problems with sharing. The vegetarian breakfast was lovely and our dogs were allowed in the dining area. We chatted in the bar with friendly locals who gave us good advice on walks. There are nice strolls down to the river from the hotel and plenty of places to park on the road outside.

Great location, vibrant clean bar and lounge with TVs in bar. Great breakfast although no black pudding in the full English.

Not much, its a bargain place that has good facilities and nice friendly staff. Some areas look a little tired in decor but that possibly adds to the charm. We'll definitely keep coming back here 😁

Breakfast was delicious inc veggie option, the staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. No dinner on a Tuesday but we played board games in the bar and had a great time. Really convenient location!

The shower was dated and small but the toiletries were gorgeous. The parking was on street which didn’t prove a problem for us but may be an issue for some. The sofa bed was less comfy for an adult.

It was an economical accommodation with a warm welcome. The location was family-friendly, safe, and had a lovely, iconic atmosphere. Ms. Diana gave us a very warm welcome and helped us a lot in preparing our dinner. Free on-site road parking was also available, and the staff were very polite.

Great location in town centre. Plenty of free parking. Excellent staff and very good breakfast.

Kitchen wasn't open but got a hearty meal nearby. Rooms were dated, though in keeping with the venue. Some noise from bar below but still slept well.
