A wonderful oasis just outside the walls of Lucca, from our arrival we were made to feel very welcome by wonderful and friendly staff, the room was lovely and breakfast excellent. A bonus was how accommodating they were to us with regards to parking, we were arriving at 12.15 pm, well before check in time to meet friends for lunch in Lucca, and they allowed us to park our car and leave it there with all our luggage safe in the knowledge that it was secure. The only down side was that we were only staying for the one night, would definitely stay here again when in Lucca. Couldn't fault Villa Romantica

To start with straight to the point, my wife and I had a lovely time in Lucca and staying at the Villa was a lovely experience. We travelled in November so the weather is changeable ( carry a packable raincoat with you at this time of year ) The Villa is outside the old city walls, but its an easy walk to get to the old town. The district is more residential and not touristy and there is a football ground just opposite (there were no matches on during our visit and with the villa being set in its own gardens , gives it a quiet setting. ) The Villa grounds consist of a large garden area large shady trees and car-parking at the rear of the property. I can imagine sitting out in the summer within the shade of the large trees with a cool drink after a day of walking the city. There is a small reception area with sofa and armchairs with an adjacent breakfast room. Breakfast is a self serve continental style, with coffee, tea and juices, enough to get you going for the day. We asked for breakfast to be left out for us, as we travelled to Florence early one day for a day trip. The staff were very obliging and left out some juice cartons and a light continental packed breakfast, which we ate on the train. We stayed on the first floor in a double deluxe, en-suite. The bed is kingsize and very comfortable, very clean and has a smart TV, along with kettle and a selection of teas and instant coffee. High ceilings, tall windows with wooden shutters gives the customer a sense of Italy. The room was serviced to a high standard,, fresh towels etc The staff could not be more helpful and happy to give guidance. Ask the reception staff for a coffee and you will get a nice Italian cappuccino ,very customer friendly staff. Because of its location it is less expensive than hotels in the old city, but has very high standards and I would highly recommend a stay here . 20 minute walk to train station following the city walls.

Nothing . If you want high end luxury go to the expensive hotels in town, this Villa is great for the traveller whose budget does not stretch, but you will get a lovely experience here.

The hotel was lovely and our room was good. We liked that it had parking on site, however there was also parking on the street nearby. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was the best we had the whole of our trip to Italy...delicious and a lot of choice! Located not far from the city walls so a good location too!

Easy walking distance into Lucca and quiet location. Breakfast was amazing choice with extremely helpful staff on hand. Room was simple but nicely decorated and very clean (as was the bathroom).

Only minor issue was plumbing from other rooms noisy but can't be helped!! Also, would have loved to sit in the garden but furniture was a little grubby and all in the shade.

Lovely hotel outside the wall in Lucca - easy parking and access to city. Great breakfast, friendly efficient staff and communication, very comfortable bed, nice fireplace to cozy up to, beautiful grounds, surrounding, two great restaurants just a half block away.

Busy little suburban street but birds and fence drown out traffic noise. Still felt serene.

The location is about 2 walking blocks from the city wall, which you can walk through to get into the town. There is a fantastic restaurant on the way, which we ate at twice because we thought it was so good. Our room was room No,3 and it was on the 1st floor (above ground floor) and was spacious and bright. The bathroom was large with lots of room for the shower, bidet, toilet and lavatory, and with a huge window for light and to open for fresh air. We enjoyed the Italian/Europen style breakfast each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again when we next visit this area. The town is a 10-minute leisurely walk from Villa Romantica. Parking is available for Euros10 per day - But we saw plenty of parking on the street outside the place. There is a football stadium 75 meters away, so I am guessing on game day it could get pretty congested with people/cars, but we didn't run into any game days. Lots of nice restaurants in Lucca to visit. Friendly bars for a drink and some crisps before meals. Overall, I rate this place highly, with great location, Comfy firm bed, spacious room, large bathroom, a small refrigerator, OH and the windows have wooden shutters inside to close for a dark room all morning long for a nice lie-in. Thanks, folks, for a great stay.

I can't think of anything that would stop me from returning to stay at this place again.

My stay at the hotel surpassed expectations. The room was very clean, offering a comfortable and inviting space. The helpful staff made my experience truly enjoyable. The hotel's proximity to the city walls allowed for convenient exploration of the surroundings. Undoubtedly, the highlight was the very confortable bad. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, good breakfast, confortable bad and supportive staff, making it a fantastic choice for any traveler.

A really lovely villa just outside the main city walls. Friendly staff, great breakfast, comfy beds. I enjoyed the use of the wellness centre. Good communication before visit with ideas of activities I could do.

It’s a little far from the train station but this isn’t a big issue as it’s a direct route between them.

We arrived and asked about the noise and activity outside and were told that a football/soccer match was about to start across the street. Why not, we went. The bed was the most comfy we had in two weeks in Italy. The room was actually two rooms, a bedroom and a separate living room and we also had a balcony. The staff was incredibly attentive and breakfast was exceptional.

About 10 minutes to walk into the old city, in fact, we set our personal 'steps' high in Lucca. WiFi was weak.

Staff, Vianna was so helpful and gracious, she made our check in streamlined, made arrangements for a massage, and provided great insights for restaurants. The Turkish Bath helped to melt away stresses of travel and their breakfast was perfect to start your day.
