Good sized rooms, accessible on ground floor(although I didn’t see any ground floor rooms or lift). 0% G…(the dark stuff)!
The property address was advertised as being in Hexham. It wasn’t. I maybe should have checked the post code but as I wasn’t intending to drive but use public transport, I didn’t think it necessary. I feel this was very misleading as Barrasford was not mentioned. In the event there were only 3 buses a day which didn’t fit my trains, so I ended up hiring a car to give me some flexibility. An expensive overnight stay. I could never tell which end was which if the hall/stairway door at the front was shut! My too My double room was well equipped with a lovely view, which were a bit spoilt by the perpetual smell of diesel oil; it was very hot so the fumes from the tank below rose into the room, our hosts can’t help the weather!

Last minute booking for us when we discovered camping wasn't for us. Nice comfortable room and bed, warm with an extra oil heater in. The beds in particular were very comfy with a separate seating area and a good tea and coffee tray. Dinner was standard pub grub fare with good prices, needed after a day's trek. Had a lovely view out the window. Breakfast was made to order, we had a full fry. The staff are a family and were very accommodating! Thanks
Slightly out of the way so taxis require pre booking, but not much can be done about that. Expected in the countryside!

Excellent location within easy reach of all Northumberland attractions, particularly Hadrian's Wall and all things Roman . Our room was double aspect with good views over a pond which was home to a mother goose and her adolescent goslings. Owners were friendly and helpful. Room and bed both comfortable.
As in most hotels, bathroom needed more shelves and hooks to hang things on! A few more coat hangers would also have been good.

Breakfast fine and tailored to our requirements. Safe, free parking on site. Friendly staff and good service. Enjoyed the Quiz night
Description of location appeared to state the hotel was in Hexham but probably was overlooked at the time of booking and there was some confusion with the Sat-Nav but easily resolved by phoning the hotel

We have stayed there several times over the years, but since the new owners took over the place is so much better, warm friendly people, welcoming locals in the bar, and the breakfast was the best I have had in many a year, well done and good luck with your new hotel, we will be back soon.

The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very well appointed. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom facilities were very good.
The bed was low. As a more elderly couple we found it a struggle to get up off the bed in the morning.

The full English breakfast exceeded my expectations, so much that I had to ask for less food on the following mornings.
A little more milk in the room, although on request we were provided with fresh milk in a jug.

Breakfast was outstanding. Good sized, clean and light airy room. Nice big fluffy towels. The views were amazing. Lovely setting and friendly hosts.
Double bed, plenty of room for a king size. En suite small but functional and clean.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food (evening meal and breakfast) was plentiful and very nicely cooked and very good value for money
While the bed was comfortable it was low so not so easy to get into and out of.

Friendly and welcoming. Bed really comfortable and everywhere was lovely and clean. Would definitely return.
Maybe continental breakfast option to pick from on the day? Not a deal breaker and the cooked breakfast was lovely.
