The Hotel Löwen staff were exceptional right from my arrival to the morning I left. The breakfast buffet was prepared with a great deal of attention to detail by the wonderful friendly staff member and the carafe of coffee was on my table within minutes of my arrival in the breakfast room. As I was there on the first Sunday of Advent the breakfast room was decorated for the season and the first Advent candle lit.

It is important to know there is no elevator so pack light.

The room, ensuite, bedding and towels were clean, good wi-fi connection. Hair/body wash was provided. Breakfast was good . Although it's a small hotel, I wasn't unduly disturbed by noise other guests. Electric radiators were efficient and quick to respond, and room was warm enough with radiators (in early January) even on lowest setting. Staff spoke good English at breakfast. Hotel emailed (in German) to say the key would be in the safe box right outside the entrance door with a PIN to access the safe box. This worked well, and my German was just about good enough to understand the instructions.

Be aware that the hotel's details say "Parking", but the town centre hotel has no parking of its own for guests. so you have to park in marked bays on the street, if you can find a space. This was charged (by the ticket machine) at 3 euros an hour between 0900 and 21.00. You have to pay with coins (no notes or bank cards) or with their app.

Everything except...

The breakfast buffet loaf of bread had a hard and dry cutting edge, obviously from the day before. I was the unlucky first breakfaster who ended up with a dry slice of bread. It should be cut afresh every morning by the host and that slice given to the birds (or dog). 🐶🐦

First of all, the hot bread for breakfast was superb. The room and toilet is very clean. Location we’re in the middle of parking, attractions, restaurants.

Easy check in via intercom key left in safe box. Quiet, but we'll located off main street of town plenty of bars/restaurants there. 20 min walk from station. Staff friendly when spoken to in the morning. Breakfast good. 20 mins to frankfurt main station.

Pillow wasn't to my liking. Personal preference though.

I liked the location in the historic and beautiful old town area. Close to the Palace and Parks. Also convenient for the main shopping area. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Wonderful staff, clean, quiet room. Super location, right between the huge park and the pedestrian zone.
