We needed a place to stay for one night and fancied something a bit different. The Bear huts are perfect for two for a night. Luckily for us the weather was fine so we could cook in the hut and eat outside on the table and bench provided. The hut was spotless and beautifully decorated. Bed was super comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Lovely location and views from the nearby loch. When we arrived there had been a power cut and the owners called me beforehand to explain. It wasn’t a problem to us as they told us we can still cook and we will have hot water. It would be that there was no power. In the end the power was restored before dark so we were fine. It’s obviously very rural here so you have to be prepared. The owners were brilliant at making us feel at home and welcome.

Absolutely amazing place, wish we had stayed longer than one night! The downstairs bedroom is fantastic and the shared living area is absolutely stunning! Could see red squirrels out the back window while having morning coffee. Breakfast wasn’t great, we didn’t bother in the end and got something in town instead. The choice of hot drinks was exceptional however.
The noise from the guests upstairs was unfortunately very loud - their bathroom must have been directly over our bed and we could clearly hear every toilet visit, flush, footsteps and muffled conversations which woke us up quite a bit earlier than planned. Definitely go for an upstairs bedroom! Shower was pretty weak but a great size bath tub. Also slightly let down by the long gravel drive which is a little scary to drive up, the middle section is very full of potholes and really needs repair.

Self catered check-in, but host was very communicative. Room was lovely and clean - great view, mini ref included, all the items we needed for our one night stay. The house itself was wonderfully decorated with Scottish antiques and furnishings - hot tub even available, which I was not aware of. Drive was steep but weather was fine, no issues. Briefly met the owner, very kind. Was amazing to have an up close look at some of their collections as a first time Scotland visitor.
I recall thinking there were some walks around the property but no information I could find about them - we only stayed the one night and it was evening when we arrived, so no love lost there.

Key and instructions are in their own bag at the door which was a great touch. The downstairs of the main house/lodge was immaculate and full of memorabilia and fabulous display items. Our room was lovely and the bed huge and so comfy! Breakfast was already in our room and the selection was perfect.
There were items to buy on a table downstairs which we didn't take advantage of because there was a risk that other guests staying in another room would take something without leaving the cash and we didn't want to be held liable. There is an underlying trust concern which we respected as tourists but were nervous of the risk.

Nice house in a Beautiful location.we enjoyed seeing Loch Ness. Fireplace in main lounge was pleasant to sit and visit.
Weather was cold so understanding that is why I did not give a lessor rating. Heat did not work very well in our room, but they did provide a ceramic portable heather that help to keep the room warm. Shower did not work very well when another room was showering water temp would go up and down. We never seen nor met the host during the 2 nights we stayed there. Continental breakfast was not for us with the limited choice but resturant was not too far away for breakfast.

Beautiful location absolutely spotless. Very quiet location. lovely surrounded by nature sat watching the red squirrels and woodpeckers and the occasional deer out of the window of our room a nature lovers paradise. Beautiful inside too very comfortable and loved the style of furnishings .
Can't think of anything I'm sure if there was and we asked our hosts they would have done their best to resolve anything. Maybe would have been nice to have a brighter light somewhere in the room to make reading easier but wasn't a big problem for us .

The whole building, to start. So impressive! The stairs up were a challenge but worth the effort. The key in a box with our name made me feel welcome! Immense room, a similarly huge bathroom and the communal area quite incredible. The fridge full of goodies and breakfast all packed-up waiting for the morning. The tranquillity, the view, the wildlife. Out of the 6 places we stayed, this was my favourite.
The steps up to the front door, but a tiny issue in comparison! We only stayed one night!!

Everything - the location, the property itself. It was very cosy, welcoming and so so quiet, which was exactly what we needed. It's a self check-in/self check out style so perfect for people who don't like any sort of interactions. Whilst there's no evening dining options on site, you're close enough to Drumnadrochit/Inverness if you do fancy to go out for meal and owners provide suggestions in the booklet. We did meet the owner when we were leaving and bless she was so kind.
Nothing. Truly enjoyed it all and would happily go back again

The location is fantastic, tucked away in the woods with mountain view. The breakfast was a bit peculiar as it was left in the room in advance (minifridge and a lovely basket) but it was nice and had enough options available for different tastes. The only downside is that bread/crackers are no provided so we could not have the salmon/ham. Both the room and the bathroom were very big and clean and bed was very comfortable. Mark was very kind to let us know in advance that the road to the lodge would be closed after 7pm so we had the chance to grab some food to have in the room for dinner. We only stayed one night but it is surely a place we'd like to stay at again!

Beautiful building and the view was stunning!
It is not disabled friendly in anyway. Although i understand there are some lodges that may be more accommodating if you can’t do steps. The staff were really helpful in letting us bring our luggage early and subsequently check in early but I didn’t get to met anyone. I guess that is just a personal preference but still a wonderful place to stay. The mixer taps in the bath were also challenging to regulate the temperature.
