We booked White 1903 super last-minute — literally on our way to Ischia — and honestly, it turned out to be a great choice! Umberto is incredibly kind and helpful, truly goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes smoothly. The room was really spacious — there were just two of us, and we had two double beds, a big closet, and lots of space to move around. Breakfast is offered at a really cute café nearby with a great vibe. There’s also a rooftop with a jacuzzi and a shower, which turned out to be super useful — we used it after check-out to rinse off after a beach day before catching our ferry. The location is great — right in Forio, close to lots of restaurants, shops, and cafés. It’s clean, well-located, and run by genuinely kind people who care about your experience. Would totally recommend it!

The only small hiccup was right at the start — there’s no 24/7 reception, so when we arrived the front door was locked, and we hadn’t realised we needed to give a heads-up. That said, we’d literally just booked a few minutes before, so it was understandable. Also, the A/C wasn’t working quite right at first, but as soon as we mentioned it, Umberto came over straight away and sorted it out — honestly, such a helpful and hands-on host. Massive thanks to him!

Breakfast was provided with vouchers to a nearby cafe. Food was good but light e.g. one pastry and a drink. The hotel contacted me via WhatsApp and it made the check in, check out and all other aspects of interaction with the hotel, very simple and relaxed. The hotel is a lot like a BnB than a traditional hotel but it was still very nice and offered services of a traditional hotel such a fresh towels and room cleaning everyday. Overall it was very nice.

I don't have much complaints. The breakfast was pretty small but still good.

The rooms were very clean and bright. The beds and pillows very comfortable. Umberto (also Erika) was the most impeccable, nice, helpful and the best host. He updated my room to a better one. Close to the beach and in the main street. The breakfast- at the caffe near by- was very simple but good quality. Included one drink and a croissant/brioche/toast. No fruit, but pressed orange juice and brioche was very good. Highly recommended.

The decoration is not cosy. The lamps and chairs are really bad quality, in plastic but besides the cheap look, was impossible to seat in the chairs without having the feeling of falling apart. Also gives a very cold atmosphere. Can be improved.

Umberto is SUCH a fantastic host. As a female solo traveller you’re always that extra bit nervous, but his communication was superb from even before I arrived. My flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until very late and he organised a taxi from the port and met me to check in gone midnight. My room was comfortable and clean and quiet and ideal for just myself. Bonus rooftop pool which I had all to myself on my final day when I just wanted some peace from the busy beaches. I see criticism about the breakfast, but you have to remember breakfast is just NOT a big thing in Italy, eating pastries and having a coffee is the norm, and the little cafe was lovely and so were the pastries and the caffe freddo. Location was perfect as VERY close to the port.

For the single room just the lack of windows but I was aware of this and it was ideal for what I needed, shouldn’t be spending too much time in the room anyway when the island is SO beautiful!

Loved, loved, loved this property. Beautiful decor in every room (we had three rooms), VERY comfortable beds, and linens. The city center is literally at the base of the stairs. Great proximity! The rooftop deck is gorgeous. The owner (Umberto) is a wonderful host, so informative, understanding and accommodating. I would 100% happily stay here again. Thank you for a beautiful property Umberto!!

Super accomodation in the center of Forio. Wide spaces, clean room with nice balcony. Umberto is very kind, and helpful. It was my second time in Forio, and I'm sure I'm coming back next year and I'll stay in White! :)

The host was super friendly and really helpful. Gave great recommendations for restaurants and was easily contactable. The room was really big. Great location. We enjoyed our morning coffee and croissant included at a nearby cafe

The duvets didn't have covers (although there was a sheet on the bed underneath). A couple of small things like glasses in the room would have been really useful. Although these were minor and would not put us off staying again

The location of the hotel is excellent. You are within short walking distance of a lot of lovely restaurants, cafes and the beach. The rooms aren't spectacular but they are nice enough, comfortable and always very clean. Umberto is a fantastic host and responds to any queries you have almost straight away.

Breakfast is not on site - you get tickets to a cafe nearby which is very nice but the options are limited so you may get bored of having the same breakfast every day. The "hot" tub on the roof isn't heated so not much use, particularly in the evenings. There were a few little touches that were missing. For example, we bought a bottle of prosecco only to realise that there aren't any glasses in the rooms and we couldn't find any elsewhere on the property. It would be nice if the fridges in the rooms were stocked with water too. Finally, we booked an extra night by mistake and tried to contact the hotel a few weeks before we came to stay to cancel it and received no response so ended up paying for it anyway.

Whit 1903 was the perfect B&B to stay at in Forio. Everything about the venue itself was up to standards, rooms were clean, Umberto and Erika were very helpful with any questions as well. Forio itself is a lovely town to visit! Breakfast at Bar re del cafe was the best! Loved that we got to eat a local cafe with some fantastic coffee and corenttis.

Beautiful property on the lovely island of Ischia. Umberto the owner was so attentive and friendly, helping with bookings, ideas for eating out, trips. His team were also lovely,reflecting the feel of the island and the welcome we had.
