This hotel has an amazing and relaxing atmosphere, the pool and sunbeds are incredible, and obviously the views are stunning too. What you see on the pictures is what you get. One of the things I will remember the most with this hotel is the staff and in particular sir Giovanni. If you are lucky enough to meet him and having him joking with you during breakfast like he did with me, then you’re going to remember him and this hotel forever. If I could go back in time I would book a longer stay just because of him and the staff. I stayed there for 3 nights and I feel I’ve known Giovanni since forever. He is the right person for the right place. Already miss him! And also, If you’re coming without a car you’re going to be just fine. Walking to the city Center has both up- and downhill parts, but with slow speed walking it’s just a cute experience.

We had some ants in our room but it’s not really the fault of the hotel, they come from the garden outside and the hotel did their best to fix this problem.

Our room was pool and sea facing which was an amazing view. The room and the bathroom had plenty of space. The bathroom came with a bath and shower cubicle, which had two shower heads. The pool had a thermal section and a cold water section. On one evening of our stay there was a DJ and snacks provided by the hotel. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Amazing sunset view! Breakfast was lovely with loads of sweet pastry and baked goods, selection of cheeses and meets, breads and fruits.

Minor things: The room did not come with any tea and coffee facilities or a bottle opener (which we had in other places we stayed). Although the bar staff were happy to open our bottle for us. There were not enough places to hang towels and clothes in the bathroom and in the room.

The staff: Alwaya a warm welcome or interesting information on the reception, the well trained professional staff at breakfast. The greetings from room Service. The room was large and bed comfortable. The views were wonderful. We found the position good as we like walking. The shuttle on the last day was great. Breakfast: first class. Loved the 2 pools: one was very warm. Good bar with holiday flair. Quiet.

Not a complaint! I need a more hocks in the room for clothes and on the balcony to hang wet clothes on. I do not need fresh towels everyday ( felt guilty: enviroment). It will not stop me returning though.

The staff were extremely helpful, particularly Donatella at the front desk. We asked her many questions and she was very patient. There was a nice pool and the views were awesome. There's a free shuttle that we used several times. You just need to sign up for it. The hotel's very near Poseidon Gardens thermal springs which is a must do activity, and the shuttle took us right there.

There aren't a ton of restaurants within easy walking distance, but that's not the hotel's fault.

The property was extremely clean and well kept. The setting high up off the road and with a fantastic view of the sea, was really lovely. Although it is an older building it is well kept. The staff are nice and friendly, despite our lack of Italian language!! The pool is nice, a little tired (missing tiles etc) but didn’t affect our enjoyment. Breakfast fresh and plentiful with friendly and helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay. We would enquire if there are bigger rooms for a family of 5, for next time, but we all slept surprisingly well, and the set up of the room was 1 double bed, 1 single bed and 1 bunk bed. The bathroom was big with a bath, and we had a small terrace with partial sea view and pool. The free shuttle is very helpful as Citara beach and the port are quite far to walk. We would come back and enjoy the property and island again.

The pool needs a little TLC.

We booked this hotel last minute, as another place had cancelled. Albatros was incredible, the staff were all so friendly and polite. I was with my sister and baby, the three of us felt at home here. My baby Alice loved all the staff, they made traveling with a baby a breeze. We used the lovely pools, and spent time in the evenings either at the pool bar watching the sunset, or in our room with a lovely seaview. We loved the breakfasts (quantity and quality!). It was great to have air conditioning, and the showers were great with lots of pressure! Great to have a mini fridge also in the room. It is easy to walk to restaurants from this hotel, and also possible to walk to Poseiden thermal park which was amazing. I absolutely loved our stay here. Every single staff member was exceptional, Donatello, Vanessa, and everyone we met, thank you so much. 2 ladies and a baby, from Canada and France, we would highly recommend !

I loved everything. I might have enjoyed having a kettle in the room, but I am sure that I could have asked the front desk (but I didn't, so my fault ).

View was great, we enjoyed having access to the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. Delicious food on the pool deck.

Advertising on booking.com Implied that the shuttle would be able to take us to and from different destinations but it was difficult to book - didn't run all the time and the driver was always grumpy and unhelpful. for example our ferry arrived at 2pm but the shuttle didn't run between 12:30 - 3:00pm. Having to wear caps in the pool was strange and quite annoying, especially for the teenagers. We wouldn't stay in this location again.

The staff was very friendly. Room was clean, nice airconditioning, fridge etc. Pretty view from the balcony. Free shuttle.

The main courses in the restaurant was a little bland (variations in the protein with same sides). We would have preferred more traditional italian dishes, which there were very good at. The acoustic in the restaurant was bad, and it was only possible to have lunch outside. The beach was nearby, but not easy to access (stairs) and you had to walk for 5-10 minutes to get there.

Everything about our stay was absolutely amazing. Beautiful hotel with lovely pool and amazing sea views. The staff were so lovely, helpful and always greeted you with the biggest smile. The room was lovely, spacious and always clean. The air con was great and kept the room nice and cool after a hot day. The terrace was a great size with amazing views including the unforgettable sunsets, the best sunsets we have ever seen. The breakfast was great with freshly made coffees. Even on our last morning, we had a very early departure and the hotel had packed us a breakfast for our journey without us asking - a great touch! After exploring the beautiful island of Ischia and different parts each day, we were still happy we chose to stay at Albatros rather than any other hotel as it is great location for Citara beach and Forio centre - both within 10-15 minutes walking distance, a great way to walk off all of the delicious food. We will definitely return to this hotel, we knew it was going to be beautiful but it way exceeded our expectations- a real gem!

Nothing, everything was amazing and allowed us to have one of our most favourite holidays ever.

The view was amazing. The 2 pools are beautiful and wonderful to spend the day at. All personnel at the Hotel our outstanding. The Albatros is the ultimate in old-world Italian graciousness. Special thanks to Giovanni who runs his Dining Room with ultimate professionalism and old world charm. Thanks to the hotel's driver Michaelli, who was always ready to drive/or pick us up, with a smile. And cannot forget to mention Donatelli who was there for us whatever our needs happened to be, from plumbing to additional towels, etc.

Having returned to The Albatros three years now, my friend and I would love to be able to live there for a while (smile).
