Great Location, nice atmosphere wit ha warm welcome from Craig and the team

Breakfast only available on weekends despite Booking.com showing it was available at an extra cost. This caused unnecessary confusion and embarrassment as I'd brought members of my team with me and had to find somewhere suitable for breakfast. Given there were 6 of us (spread across two different bookings) staying for the same work event, for the extra charge this could've been a decent extra bit of revenue for the hotel if communicated prior, as we would've had breakfasts without question.

Room 11 was a good size, with an ensuit bathroom. The decor was very dated, with wood chip wallpaper! However, the bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. The bathroom was a good size. Again, it was very dated and in need of an update, but it was perfectly serviceable for our stay. It was very quiet on the second floor. A cooked breakfast, ordered the previous evening set us up for the day. As can be the case with all old buildings, the stairs were steep. This was not a problem. There is a large car park, and they have secure bicycle storage if you are doing the TPT or other cycle route!

Nothing really, the room just needs an update. No blind in the bathroom. General comment, the room overlooked the carpark via a ridge and valley gutter of another part of the hotel. This was in need of a good clean.

Good honest cooked breakfast, but you have to pay extra for toast (if your breakfast comes with the room?). Great location. Helpful staff - thanks for that iron when I needed it, guys. Steep stairs leading to the hotel floor add to the charm but could be a challenge if you try too much of the refreshments downstairs - stairs being nicely carpeted might soften any fall, though.

If you are the idiot like myself and fall asleep with the TV running, guests in room next door will bang on walls. Rude!!! (See how I'm trying to be funny here?). Also the big cat roaming around the back car park looks spooky af at night. In my room the bedroom window kept shutting - I managed to jam it open with an empty beer can, but what if I was a non drinker? Come to think of it, I now see a possible reason for the TV incident... Well, not much can be said about the caliber of some guests there...

The wellington was a perfect location for my trip , with ample safe parking for my vehicle. The staff were very helpful and informative. The room was ideal for my stay clean and modern . Howden was a nice experience

Nothing really , not a criticism, just an observation, the steps to the rooms are steep , not adequate for elderly or disabled, I knew this when I booked . Just take this into account when looking to book Was ok for me

Room was clean and modern, no problems for secure parking.

I choose the 111 breakfast. That’s one of everything egg, bacon , sausage, beans, mushrooms, hash brown, tomatoes and a slice of toast the breakfast was nice . Not worth £9.95 No choice of cereals or extra toast or marmalade. If you want extra then you have to pay extra money.

Clean room modern decor nice big shower hot quirky floor in keeping with very old coaching house warm room but un like other places you could open the window for fresh air nice view of the minster from bedroom facing the main street not noisy stairs up to the room very steep as you would expect in a very old building if you don't want to character then go stay at a travel lodge Staff very friendly Good guitarist on in the bar in the evening added bonus breakfast nice and hot howden is full of history Minster and the ruins little streets very nice And we had a great meal at the Italian Would definitely stay again

Location in a very pleasant historic town with a convenience store and bakery opposite. Large free car park. The rear of the hotel looks tired but it is deceptive. Stayed in single room (7), contrary to an earlier review the bathroom appears to have had a complete refurbishment everything looked new and very clean. Modern neutral decor. Cooling fan provided. Comfortable bed. Decent breakfast with coffee and orange juice.

Stairs are a little steep and may present a problem to the elderly or those with mobility issues. Very limited menu on Friday night and nothing at all on Saturday night - restaurants and takeaways are a 5 minute walk. Some noise from an adjacent pub until 1130pm (tone deaf female singer who couldn't sing to save her life). Had to keep the windows shut.

Although a limited choice the full English was great. Again, the evening menu was limited, but this meant that what they did they did very well. Location was excellent, loads of parking and staff could not have been more helpful.

Nothing really. This is an old coaching inn, so you expect uneven floors, steep stairs and funny spaces when being compared to a modern hotel. All part of the charm!

Staff were friendly and accommodating. They stored our bikes in a secure room. The room was basic but clean. We were served a nice breakfast in the morning.

Everything was okay. However like others have said it the decor could do with an upgrade

I was on an adventure - to cycle, solo, across the width of Britain. This was one of the 12 accommodations that I stayed in along the journey. The lady host was friendly and approachable and helped me with storing my bicycle in a safe a secure shed in the back garden area. This accommodation was booked because it was on my way along my journey. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was tasty and substantial.
