The staff was friendly and check-in was easy. It was a very convenient location. I felt safe there by myself although I did not walk alone at night. It was within walking distance to the promenade, restaurants, stores, and a bus stop. The place has been renovated within the last 5 years. Although it appears to be in an older part of town, it met all the basic needs for a clean place to shower, sleep, and have breakfast. The room was small, but I only needed a twin bed as I was traveling alone. I don't know how much bigger the double rooms are. But the bathroom was quite large and well supplied. There was a tea kettle and a good supply of tea for my stay. The seagulls were loud but it was nice to be near the bay.
Being an older building, it did not have a lift. If steps are a problem for you, this may not be the best place for you. The hallways were also very narrow. These are not complaints rather just observations.

Located in a very convenient but quiet situation for Morecombe seafront and Prom. Close to a great fish and chip shop and large supermarkets just a short walk away. The "busy" area is further away but I chose this Hotel to be quiet if possible. I didnt sign up for breakfast which was optional, but wish I had as the dining area looked immaculate, clean bright table linen. The shop I DID end up for breakfast was a bit grubby!- so sign up for breakfast if you can at The Sanderling, it looked a good option.Room and bed simple but very clean and comfortable. Nice roomy bathroom too with a good hot shower. Clean white fresh towels and bed linen. I only booked an overnight but would have been happy to stay longer. The communications from the Hotel were very welcoming, appreciated and helpful.
Only the steep flight of steps leading to the front door.

I found the owners to be a friendly couple, informative and helpful. The location was situated close to the sea front and easy walking to the town centre. Plenty of bars, cafes etc close to the accommodation, all very easy walking distance. The location had plenty of free street parking, and I found it very quiet at night with very little traffic noise etc, so easy to sleep. Buses are are also very close, just a short walk to the Prom and you will find regular buses going to many places of interest. I would recommend the Sanderling when visiting Morecambe.

Would highly recommend anyone wanting to visit Morecambe to stay at the Sanderling. Dave and his wife are very welcoming and make the perfect hosts with nothing being too much trouble. Location was great and lots of free parking outside. Room was clean and a good size with a nice en-suite. Really good nights sleep with the room being nice and warm and comfortable bed. Finished our stay with a very nice cooked breakfast. Big thank you to Dave and his wife for making our stay very comfortable and making us feel at home. Will definitely be back and anyone thinking about staying in Morecambe stay at the sanderling you won’t be disappointed

The location was a 3/4 minute walk from the Alhambra Theatre. Perfect for our visit. The host was lovely, very helpful with places to eat, directions, etc.
Room 2 was small, but not an issue for us (we spend a lot of time on a boat). The room was clean and warm. The only issue was a pump (maybe central heating) that made noise in the night. Kept hubby awake, I slept lovely, though.

The owner/hostess was welcoming as well as being attentive but without being intrusive. I really loved the fact that both the room and bathroom were absolutely spotlessly clean. And to round off my stay, the Continental breakfast was truly delicious and beautifully presented, all attention to detail being second to none! Thank you to the owner/hostess for a pleasant stay at her hotel. I will surely be back for another stay before too long!
I unfortunately found the bathroom to be rather small and so a little cramped for my full comfort, in spite of it being one of the cleanliest I have ever used. Again unfortunately the bedroom was rather bland from the point of view that it totally lacked any kind of splash of decorative colour, plus there were no pictures on the walls. Finally - although this last point is no-one's "fault" in that this happens very frequently whenever I am staying away from home - I unfortunately slept rather fitfully, simply because the bed while comfortable enough, was not my own!

Lovely place in Morecambe. We started cycling the Way of the Roses the next day and we're able to leave our bikes inside overnight which was greatly appreciated. Check in was easy and friendly with tips on where to eat. The room was clean and had everything needed, with a perfectly servicable bathroom.
My only gripe would be the single-use soap, shampoo etc. in the bathroom - it would be good if this could become refillable dispensers.

Location was pretty central for facilities. Parking was on the roads around and free on all roads. Room was clean and spacious with plenty of drawers. Shower room was good size.
When we arrived there was a tiny amount of toilet roll and we asked for more but when we came back from a day out there was still none in the room, had to go and ask again. Was apologetic and was sorted.

Good location, close to shops, free parking.
We stayed at room on top floor. It’s a quiet property in general, but guests in the room next to mine were slightly loud but this didn’t causes us any disturbance at night but the time they accessed the room. Again nothing wrong with the property, just some guests need to be considerate.
