This quaint and quirky little hotel is right on a little spit of beach on the Long Island Soung. Free use of bikes, paddle boards, kayaks and yoga for guests! It's quiet and a fun place to explore for a few days.

The photos on the website don't tell the entire story, if you will, so when our room on the first floor (which we liked) had an enclosed concrete patio, it was not what I expected. The patio furniture could use refreshing, and more thoughtful attention to the interior furniture placement would be nice.

Located directly on the beach, fabulously appointed, and run by truly welcoming staff who put us at ease and made us 100% comfortable, the Surfside is an exceptional property. We only wished we'd stayed longer! We needed a very late checkout owing to some issues with our hire care, and both the room service staff and the colleague of the front desk did everything they could for us. Bar is also beautiful; amazing food, and great drinks menu. Also a genuinely good pint of Guinness to be had there!

Although we appreciate the fact that fabulous properties will be more expensive than more run of the mill spots, the Surfside is charging what I'd consider to be the maximum amount that it can/should.

Nice small boutique Hotel with restaurant directly on small beach and promenade... friendly & helpful staff... parking and wifi included in room price... food in restaurant was decent... nice bar and terrace dining... quiet neigborhood... nearby restaurant with lively music... stayed in room #20... very large room with 2 king beds and balcony with ocean front view... good for a quiet and relaxing stay on the beach...

there was no breakfast service in hotel... but there was a nearby deli serving breakfast with in & out door seating...

The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room’s patio was right on a little beach area. There was coffee, muffins, apples and granola bars two rooms over in the coffee bar room. Bikes were easily accessible as were chairs and some paddle boards for the beach/water.

The area is kind of blah. You really only have 2 restaurant dining options in walking distance. There is a good ice cream spot and corner store within a short walk also as well as a pizza place that we did not try. We did have to drive a far amount to go see other towns, which are not really bustling either. mystic is a good hour away and that is a pretty cool town. If you are just wanting to relax and sit on the beach/walk around, then this is the perfect vacation spot.

As an international traveler I realize that hotel industry is moving to more and more closed circuit design no balconies even no windows that you can open and have fresh air in your room. Hoping to have more hotels like this giving us the chance to feel like at home and to have amazing experiences for a reasonable price.

The best part was having the perfect view of the water, the room was clean and cozy the robes were a plus.

There was a little party amoung the guest which was fine until they moved to the tables in front of my room and stayed there for a while so I couldn't enjoy my time on the balcony, I was looking forward to relaxing to the sound of the water but I couldn't because of everything going on outside my room.

This was our second time staying here. Room was comfortable and clean. Appreciated a good size fridge and complementary water. Happy they provided beach towels and enjoyed the Shays lounges by the water really good coffee and little muffins to wake up to was a treat as well. I’m hoping I will be able to make reservation in time for SHU graduation.

The room (we got upgraded) was lovely, so i'm not exactly sure what the room we paid for would have actually looked like. The staff was very helpful and kind and the facilities were very clean and lovely.

We didn't dislike anything - but we did have one comment. The restaurant on premises was very nice, we weren't sure if they were short staffed but they forgot the drink, and took a while before someone came over to us. We weren't in a rush and it was all okay but it I could see that being a little frustrating.

Location was amazing. The bed was comfortable. The food was amazing also.

Shower curtain needs to be a little longer because the water flows out over the handicap entrance. We felt badly the towels got soaked on the floor.

The location, the atmosphere, the entire staff, how beautifully updated but also beachy, artsy cool and comfortable everything was. We loved the boutique size of the hotel gave everything a personal touch rarely found. The bed was extremely comfortable, with fluffy thick linens, electronic extras, fantastic restaurant and bar called Little Pub, with expansive menu, delicious food and their own Two Roads beer was my favorite. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate helping make arrangements for transportation anywhere we needed to go and everyone we met enhanced the overall trip. Though we had never visited Connecticut the Surfside and locals all felt like home, we didn't want to leave it is such a special place, and special people, a gem, we will return.

Nothing, I loved every moment. From the time of booking and how they kept in touch and offered services to driving us by golf cart, car and shuttle, we could not have asked for more.
