Downstairs everything was lovely , stylish and traditional Dinner was very good as was breakfast

The bathrooms in the bedrooms are awful , the bath is thin , it has a shower curtain which immediately sticks to you and as the curtain is short you can’t even stick it to the side of the bath to stop it touching you , good use of refillable instead of single use , however as the pump dispenser no longer pumped properly it became a problem trying to get enough shower gel to have a wash. There are not electric sockets near enough to the mirror for using the hair dryer, why not - who thought this through or not -?

We stayed in no 6 Bensmore suite and it was perfect for us - 2 good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette and lounge area. Only 5 mins drive to the Registry office and right next door to Gretna Green and attractions. Had our own parking space - was quiet and private. We ate in the Smith's restaurant on one evening. It was OK but nothing special. My potatoes were not hot and the roast veg consisted of half a parsnip and 1 carrot?? The lemon meringue pie I had for pudding was ok (topping was delicious) but the pastry was really tough - just a few little niggles that can easily be put right,

Just a couple of niggles - one of the bathroom showers was too hot and couldn't turn it down and the light surround in the bathroom didn't work - let reception know so hopefully those things will be sorted for the next guests

This was a one night pit stop for us on our way back from the Scottish highlands, and we were so glad we stayed. We didn’t take the offer of a £45 supplement for an upgrade, so we were in one of the rooms I guess will get an upgrade in the future, but it was a nice spacious room, with a king bed and a fireplace. Bed was comfy and the shower was good. We enjoyed having drinks in the lovely comfy chairs in the lounge, then we both had fish & chips, which were very tasty. We got breakfast included in our stay, which was excellent. Lovely variety of chopped melon and pineapple, yogurts, pastries and cooked items. Good quality food and very enjoyable. All the staff were so nice and helpful and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. It was such a delight to see the brides in their amazing wedding dresses, as the blacksmiths wedding venue is just across the street.

Very friendly and all staff very helpful. Comfortable room great shower. You can log in to You tube amazon prime Netfix on TV good for children. Great place to visit. Directly opposite Gretna Green wedding location. Lots of parking. Near to designer outlet. Great evening meal. Lots of comfy seating areas. Would go again

The breakfast was not too good. You can have breakfast from I think it was 7.30 until 10 am which is great. We went down for 8.45 the hot food wasn't hot and plates were cold. They didn't seem to have topped up the food and what was there was as if it had been sitting for a while but it was still early so not sure why. Having said that they had fresh fruit which was lovely and you can make toast and variety of jam marmalade honey etc. Couple of cereals. This let it down slightly as we had lovely meal the night before. But everything else great so really don't want to be too negative.

The room was lovely. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely and helpful.

I was not happy about the outlet shopping centre being as far away from the hotel. When I booked the hotel they said that it was only 300yards from the shopping centre but I would never have made it there without the car. My walking isn’t great so I was lucky we had the transport but for other guests like me saying it is 300 yards away is completely wrong. It would give people the impression they could get there without difficulty but in actual fact they couldn’t.

We had booked a suite for our wedding anniversary thinking it would be a good idea as I am disabled and unable to walk far. However the suite we booked turned out to be a cottage some way from the hotel itself and far too far for me to walk to. I checked with reception to see if we could change rooms for another suite but was put in a room on the first floor that was very basic and not at all what we expected. The restaurant was incredibly noisy as they had a wedding reception where people were using the small bar and not in the wedding reception area. The meal was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Didn’t like the fact that the cottages were not in the same location as the hotel and misleading on the website.

The room was lovely (Cottage 3) exceeded our expectations, and perfect space with a toddler. The location was perfect for attending a wedding at smiths. The staff were all lovely and very helpful.

For self sufficient cottages the bin was far too small and no waste bin outside to put rubbish in, if your there for more than 1 night it's really difficult. Breakfast on the first morning was beautiful! The second day, a monday, not so good, quality not so great, it was like the end of service yet we still had over an hour until breakfast was over. The heating in the room was not great, I know it was exceptionally cold weather, but neither of us are usually cold people but the room was freezing when we arrived and the first night even with the temp up to 30. It did warm up by the next morning, but we had to keep the temp up to 30!

We stayed in the cottages as we are a family of 5 and this suited us more than a hotel room. The cottage was beautiful with 2 bedrooms and a small kitchenette. Directly opposite the blacksmiths, which was handy as we were attending a wedding there. Parking for 1 car outside the cottage.

The door was tricky to unlock, but the staff were helpful and came straight over to is to help us gain access. I couldn't unlock the door though for the whole stay and had to rely on my partner to do it.

Great location, handy to motorways but quiet. Large, comfortable beds and blackout curtains, pleasant in-room amenities and ample room for large suitcases. - and there are lifts as well as stairs. Breakfast was also good.

The bathroom: the shower was over the bath, but with a shortish curtain (rather than a screen) that attached itself to the showerer, inevitably prompting thoughts about the stranger who last used it... There was a "mobility" loo, despite the shower being impractical for a disabled person to use...

Overall experience was fantastic - we were there for a wedding - the communal bar area was absolutely lovely, much nicer decor than I was expecting! Service was great throughout the stay. Breakfast selection was good. Bar prices good. Room was large. Loads of parking. Close to everything in Gretna Green.

Room was a bit dated - but they are in the process of doing up the rooms. Initially we were really pleased with it, and it was absolutely fine for the 2 nights - but little things like different coloured light bulbs were a bit odd. And it was dark in the room so not great for doing make up. Extractor fan in bathroom wasn't great and so essentially created a steam room and everything was sopping with condensation. Also I just think that shower curtains are a bit grim!
