We visited this hotel during a heatwave that swept across Europe, and the temperature upon stepping off the train in Lyon was a sweltering 39 degrees. Thankfully, this hotel is a very short walk from the station, and the air conditioning in both the hotel reception and the room was working perfectly. It's a long walk from here to the main town, 25 minutes and about 45 minutes to the old town. However, we were passing through and needed somewhere to escape the heat for a few nights near the station, and this hotel was perfect. The breakfast was one of the better selections we had in France, and the on-site restaurant offered a great evening meal.

As with most train station Ibis hotels, the room was on the smaller side, but we were expecting this.

It is close to the Lyon part dieu train station, just a few mins walk. Inside it feels warm, welcoming and staff are friendly and helpful. The seating areas are very nicely thought out. Really handy water refill station with different bits around for entertainment, from a free arcade machine, table football, books etc. even had a couple of rocking chairs there too :) nice touch. Loved their warm communal reception area. Just needed a pool table ;) You don’t get a kettle in your room, but they will give you hot water freely if you have a flask or something to put it in.

The top mattress kept sliding so needed shifting back every now and then. Didn’t notice so much during sleep time so it’s ok. And no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities.

She was very friendly, very kind, and made my trip a lot more giving the circumstances I had such as horrible weather and heavy workload I had . Will comeback for location and Anne!

Room chair was so uncomfortable it broke my back even worse .

The breakfast was excellent, location was great and room was new and clean.

We’d booked a triple, and the downgraded us to a double without our approval. We only had two people but we’d intentionally booked the triple for the extra room. They also asked us earlier in the day of our stay whether we needed separate beds, which I found strange but confirmed this was the case, only to turn up later and have a double bed. As friends we agreed to just share the bed, as it was so late and we couldn’t be bothered waiting for them to change it. They did give us a free breakfast but my friend slept extremely poorly and I’m sure would have preferred the extra sleep…I complained and haven’t heard anything back.

ibis Lyon Gare Part-Dieu was another great experience—Ibis has truly become our favorite hotel chain! The young woman at check-in was fantastic—warm, always smiling, and very helpful. The room was clean and cozy, and the secure parking was very convenient. Excellent location near the train station, and the metro is located nearby

This was a comfortable stay. The hotel sent us really detailed easy instructions on how to exit the station and way to walk to the hotel, we really appreciated that. It was very convenient to have a restaurant on site. Good supermarkets just a short walk away.

Pretty ordinary pricey coffee from the reception.

Location is a key selling point, and compared to hotel prices in general, it was good value (which included breakfast).The restaurant at the hotel is really good for dinner. Food is great, with reasonable prices & very friendly staff, especially Yassine, our waiter.

Our room was very small. It is difficult for two people to move around the room. Problem if you have a lot of luggage.

It's a nice relaxed hotel with a comfortable bar area. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable and the staff are really helpful. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. I'd stay here again.

I chose this hotel because it's near the main railway station, but although super convenient, if I was staying more than a couple of days I'd chose a nicer area of Lyon. We stayed in a triple room and the single bed had no reading light.

Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable . Very close to the station.

I would like a kettle in the room to make tea/coffee. There are lots of homeless people sleeping on the road by Westfield, although they didn’t cause any trouble and you can always walk through the station building instead.
