We have stayed here many times over the years. The hall is set in stunning grounds with a walled garden and topiary. There are walks around the hall and it’s a short walk to the village and a great pub. The rooms are well appointed for conference and student events with tea and coffee making facilities and basic toiletries. The breakfast offering ranged from the full English buffet which was nicely cooked to cereals toast etc There is a bar with bar meals served in the evening which we have used in the past.

We were surprised to receive an email two days before our stay advising the bar and catering services were not available on the Saturday night due to a function. This we felt was very short notice as the Gates Gala must have been arranged for some time. Our room was in a quiet area and the music stopped around 11pm so we were not too bothered by noise. However had we known there was an event with reduced services we would have stayed elsewhere.

Quite a long walk from nearest bus stops but fine in good weather. Beautiful surroundings with wildlife (bats, herons, etc). Breakfast good , especially veggie sausages Lovely dining room and views outside with tables to sit in good weather. Room was fine - I suggest replacing small bottles of soap and shampoo with wall dispensers which would reduce plastic waste. There did not appear to be any recycling facilities in building.

Breakfast good but as I was there for 6 nights it got boring having exactly the same things every day. I would have liked a better selection of yoghurt. Toasters very slow and bread very boring.

This fabulous listed building is stunning and set in beautiful gardens and grounds making it very relaxing. Our twin room had a small but perfectly adequate en-suite and usual tea/coffee facilities. the housekeeping was of a high standard and the rooms clean and tidy. Front-of-house staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is in a refectory style dining room which encourages mixing and the food was plentiful, delicious and good quality. A special thanks to the groundskeeping and estates staff for maintaining such a delightful treasure.

We had planned to use the bar for refreshment and food on the evening of our arrival but these facilities were closed due to a private function and, we were told, staffing issues. It would have been a courtesy to have informed us of this prior to our arrival and indeed the front desk staff were unaware and had to check. As there is only one nearby pub as an alternative, we would have made different arrangements had we known.

Everything was well organized. The room was large and had all amenities we needed. The buffet breakfast in a charming traditional student dining hall was very nice and perfect for starting the day (traditional english breakfast + croissants/pain au chocolat). The gardens and architecture of the building made our stay a little bit more special. We had a nice dinner in the nearby pub/restaurant "The Three Horseshoes". We recommend visiting Ely Cathedral: stunning building, interesting history & great digital guide. King's College Chapel stands out in Cambridge itself. Take into account that the Fitzwilliam museum is closed on Mondays.

This was my second stay here - the first was for work, but this time I brought my husband along for a mini break and we used it as a good base to visit Cambridge. It's superb value. We had a nice double room, comfortable bed and although the facilities were basic (shower but no bath), it was clean and tidy and the grounds were lovely. We ate in the bar in the evening - the menu is limited (but again good value) and there is a pub down the road within walking distance as an alternative. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The shower in our room was a bit on the lazy side and doors in the corridors can make a bit of noise, but for the price it is excellent value.

The manor and its grounds are really amazing. Breakfast (full English) was great, the bar is nice. The beds are comfortable, tea and bicuits are for free in the rooms, there was also a flat iron. Parking is nearby. TV in the rooms. Everything's oldish but very clean and well-kept.

The rooms were tiny. The bus&ride (next good busstop) to get into Cambridge is not in walking distance, there were no brochures of the sights on display or timetables for the buses. You need a key chip of your bedroom key to enter the hallway to the bedrooms, which makes it a bit uncomfortable if you only get one key. You cannot just knock at your bedroom door to have your partner let you inside.

Historic setting - beauty, cleanliness and orderliness; courteous, helpful staff; restorative green and floral spaces; plentiful, varied breakfast options in elegant surroundings; and convenient proximity to Madingley Road Park&Ride (<15 minutes to central Cambridge). Would choose again and would recommend for those with cars (although walk from Park&Ride enjoyed by my fellow guest). Ample, on-site parking.

Room given did not match photo but comfortable and I slept well. So rated 'met expectations' as, in all other aspects it was fine. Would have liked more historical information but maybe my stay was too short to spot it.

The building and grounds thereof were stunning. It was interesting to stay in halls of Cambridge University during the summer break.

The bed, and mattress were rather uncomfortable. The charge points for electric vehicles were at the furthest point of the car park. This was difficult as I am a disabled badge user but couldn't make use of a disabled parking space AND charge my electric car. It would have been intimidating to walk from the chargers as there didn't appear to be any lighting on the vicinity of the charge points. I received a call from staff on the afternoon of the day I left. They said that I'd not checked in... I stayed in room 72 and checked out at 09:15 on 6th August, as per my reservation.

Our room was lovely in terms of the wonderful views over the side gardens and topiary. The bed was comfortable and there was tea and coffee facilities. The en-suite bathroom was a bit small but adequate for what we needed. The gardens were delightful. We also enjoyed eating in the restaurant for an evening meal (payed separately) and enjoyed the full breakfast in the amazing dining room.

The TV in the room was very small (more like a computer monitor) The bathroom was quite cramped but manageable.

Breakfast was great. I am a vegan and had plenty of choices, including oatmilk. My husband is not Vegan and enjoyed his traditional English breakfast. The dining area was large and beautiful. The walk around the gardens was fabulous; we were strolling through history. The bar was nice, both inside and on multiple terraces, where you could sit and relax. Excellent, ideal, beautiful historic estate. 6 minutes walking distance to the 3 Horseshoes pub for a wonderful meal and bar. I will definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Really nothing to complain about, had a great sleep.
