Beautiful home away from home. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and the rooms were immaculately clean! Delicious continental breakfast and the pool was an added bonus after a busy day exploring the local towns. Fantastic location - only a few minutes walk away from the town centre but far enough away that you are out of the hustle and bustle of the bars and restaurants. Would give this property 6 out of 5 stars if I could!

It was one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. The historic home, the location, the parking, the pool (especially in August!), wonderful breakfast on the terrace, the old trees on the grounds. The hosts were amazing. So thoughtful and hospitable. It was nice to have a glass of wine one evening when we just wanted to relax instead of go out. Magical.

The staff is outstanding, very welcoming and always attentive! As it was a very important night for us the staff went out of their way to give us something special! Definitely recommend staying at this historic yet very comfortable place. Breakfast was also perfect!

We knew this property from exterior for many years. Having the opportunity to live inside even just for one single night was a kind of dream come truth. We booked for a special occasion and hosted a family dinner in the property dining room. The experience was amazing, the history of the property and the quality of the service to make this event wonderful was great! The breakfast had all we needed, and eggs and juice fresh on the minute. Maria told us about the amazing history of the family and Gabriela made our drinks and dinner feeling like at home. A great place to go with the tranquility of Cascais residence area to make a special occasion.

Very charming unique family owned bed and breakfast in a remodeled mansion. Location very close to beaches and parks of Cascais. Breakfast was lovely with eggs, fruit, breads, and meat. Staff (family) went out of their way to meet your needs.

It is definitely an older house with creaking floors and shudders. But that is not a dislike, it is part of the charm.

Chalet Ficalho is a gem of a place and we could not recommend it highly enough (although we would prefer not too many other people find out about it!). A beautiful and elegant building, restored and maintained to a high standard. Extremely comfortable and relaxing, our hosts could not have been more helpful, and all of the staff are fantastic (especially Hakim). The location, right in the centre of Cascais, was perfect - just a few minutes walk into the centre, without it being busy or noisy. We can't wait to visit again..

The property is absolutely beautiful with 19th century wood panelling and beautiful art work but what makes it most special is that it is a family home, and one that you are made to feel totally welcome in, like it is your own home. The breakfasts are delicious, with both continental, fresh fruit and egg options. The location is handy for the main sights of Cascais, and yet peaceful, and the rooms clean and comfy. The host booked a nice restaurant for us our first night and walked us to it, as we had to be there quickly. We were ill while staying at the hotel and our hosts did everything to help us, getting foods that would help, going to the pharmacy, and offering another room until our departure even after we’d checked out. I have never stayed anywhere so holistically lovely and I can not recommend it more highly.

We chose Chalet Ficalho to start our Portugal vacation with some relaxation before heading to Lisbon, and I highly recommend it! This charming spot is perfect for catching up on sleep and enjoying the peaceful small town. The property is managed by Maria and her daughter Ana, and the ease of communication prior to our arrival was much appreciated. Ana also helped us book a transport service, which spoiled me more, having someone waiting at the airport after a long flight! The chalet has been recently refurbished, and they’ve done a fantastic job of retaining the original features. The beds were comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the breakfasts were a highlight. I loved how they thoughtfully set the breakfast table to match the size of your party—our group occupied 4 of the 9 rooms on one of our nights there. Though the weather wasn’t quite warm enough for me to enjoy the pool, my son still jumped in! It was such a relaxing property, and we didn’t even realize the starting line for the Lisbon Marathon was right outside our window! If you’re looking for a peaceful, welcoming place to start your trip, Chalet Ficalho is a great choice!
