We had a lovely stay at the hotel, just on the outskirts of Hastings The staff were amazing, we were offered a hot drink on arrival while booking in and our dog had a biscuit too If there’s anything you need please ask the staff they will do everything they can to help you We’d left our dog lead at home and they lent us their lead for 3 days which was very appreciated The beds were comfy and the rooms very clean, there was a little road noise which didn’t bother us, there are ear plugs left next to the bed if you need them We also had tea & coffee making facilities in the room, which was nice before breakfast We had a cooked breakfast every morning which set us up for the whole day The hotel has lovely grounds plenty of places to sit outside, this is not a modern hotel but a lovely quirky old building which made us feel so welcome

We were in room 10 which is described as a suite but it’s a double room one side of the corridor bathroom in the middle and a single room at the end of the corridor All with individual locks on each door as a fire exit goes through the corridor so on a night time we all had to lock our doors which was ok for us but if you had a young child in the single room it would be a problem

The room was spacious, with lots of really good touches including a desk so that I could work easily, super fast WiFi and a welcoming bottle of homegrown cider as an extra treat on arrival. Absolutely no complaints.

It does feel very much like a large home from home and whilst there were lots of unique selling points to the building there were one or two areas that were a little worn/tired, namely the carpets. Unfortunately they are cream and show every little mark not ideal for such a large staircase. A very minor detail no other negatives

Having been slightly apprehensive about booking this establishment due to the lack of TripAdvisor reviews and other mixed reviews, I decided to go with my gut and book, and I am really glad that I did!! All the staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived with a nice hot drink on arrival. The bedroom (No.4) was clean, comfortable and had the usual hot drink making facilities within. The bathroom was adequate and the shower over the bath was hot and powerful. Our room was at the front of the building, facing the main road, so although there was some traffic noise, with the sash window closed and the traffic lighter over night, this did not disturb our sleep. Breakfast is served in the ground floor dining room, which is the semi help-yourself cereals, fruit juice and hot drinks, as well as a variety of cooked or continental options to order. These were very tasty and were generously sized portions. We also liked the option of being able to dine in the hotel in the evening. Again there was a good variety menu which was reasonably priced. The food was served hot and promptly. The kitchen is closed for evening meals on a Monday, however the local White Hart Pub Beefeater is a five minute stroll up the road, with also reasonably priced meals. The location of the Guestling Hall Hotel is perfect for visiting East Sussex and places further afield, and with bus stops situated five minutes walk away (adjacent to the White Hart Pub) with regularly hourly buses to either Hastings and Rye, you can leave you car at the Hotel and not have to worry about parking. If you are looking for a top-of-the range boutique hotel then this is not the place for you, however, for somewhere which is comfortable, good value with friendly staff then this hotel delivers. Overall we were made to feel at home and would thoroughly recommend staying here!

As a minor niggle, the shower head fixing was loose in the bathroom, so the head wouldnt stay upright. We did let reception know when we checked out, so hopefully this will be attended to.

Lovely staff and welcome. Lots of interesting artifacts in the public rooms. I had to work so couldn’t make full use of them but could have happily sat in the lounge all evening. Wifi was excellent though, as was breakfast. Wow would return for the full English alone!! Did I say staff are lovely? They really are. Bed nice and comfy and very quiet (I was alone though), really didn’t need the complimentary earplugs which were a thoughtful touch. Would stay again if on offer.

Only downside was no heat in my room. Reported it to a very concerned response so I’m sure it’ll get fixed. Strangely slow tap on the basin yet shower fine. Only reason I put a 9 instead of 10.

Beautiful kind of boutique house converted into hotel with lots of artefacts. Spacious rooms, nicely decorated with on-suite bathrooms. Great size reception with comfy sofas and another splendid relaxing room with sofas and comfortable armchairs. Bar open till for guests, nice grounds with benches, fireplaces and pond. Very friendly and helpful staff. I felt like at home.

A bit tricky surface in the front for parking motorcycle as it is made of loose, thick gravel. But apart from this .... nothing really.

Under new management just recently, with very pleasant and helpful staff. The room was large and comfy, the hotel is crammed with interesting antiques and the breakfast was great. Parking was also free (which doesn't apply everywhere) and the charge for bringing a dog was low. All in all, very good value for money in a good location.

No dog bowl or dog treats in the room despite paying £15 extra - but apart from that, no grumbles at all. Everything was fine and I'd stay there again.

Had a great stay at this beautiful hotel! There was a warm welcome on arrival by a lovely lady, who kindly offered us a complimentary cup of coffee/tea when we got there. Our room was gorgeous, and there was a birthday card and complimentary bottle of wine, which was a really lovely gesture and very much appreciated. The accomodation is amazing! Very stylish and elegant decor throughout and very clean. We loved our stay here and will def be back for another stay!

Nothing to dislike!

I'm not normally one for giving reviews, however after a recent one night stay myself and my husband were absolutely thrilled with our stay. Start to finish from the complimentary arrival tea/coffee, fantastically clean and well maintained room and impeccable customer service we received from every member of staff we encountered - the whole experience was a delight. Special shout out to the young lad who looked after us at breakfast, polite, courteous and helpful. If your looking for a hotel stay close to Hastings I would 100% recommend Guestling Hall Hotel, thank you!

Chad, the manager, and his partner were really welcoming. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent. The public rooms had plenty of comfy furniture where we sat relaxing and looking at the interesting memorabilia on display. Plenty of parking which is always a plus. The grounds were fun to walk round.

It was a pity that evening meals were not available during our stay but hopefully this is only temporary.

What an amazing little green retreat. Very attentive and helpful staff. You can arrange to have a super stay here, with excellent options to pre arrange a BBQ dinner in the grounds. Good honest full English cooked breakfast, easy to say not always easy to find, here you are given choices, your cook cares, my scrambled eggs were really good, as in a good portion of rich scrambled egg, cooked just right. Beautiful wines available. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere

I knew I had booked one of the last rooms in the area, as there was a Pirate Festival in the town that weekend. I must say I was given a very good price for the two person one night stay with breakfast, as it was acknowledged that my room wasn't the best. Just an issue with the shower, and the bed was too soft for me, but that's a personal choice.
