From the very beginning, our experience at the Commercial Hotel, Insch, was absolutely fantastic. Martin was incredibly friendly and welcoming he even met us right at the main entrance with a big smile and kindly offered to help with our bags. The whole place was spotless, fresh, and beautifully looked after, which immediately made us feel comfortable and at home. Before arriving, I had sent a message about dairy allergens for the kids, as we’re vegan. To our surprise, Martin went above and beyond he actually went out to the shop himself and bought plant-based milk, bread, and cheese for us, and even provided bananas and fresh fruit. That thoughtful touch honestly exceeded all my expectations and meant so much to us. The hotel itself has a quirky charm with loads of rooms, giving it both character and comfort. The shared kitchen was huge and well-equipped, which made things really convenient for our family. Our room was spotless, fresh, and super comfortable, and it was clear a lot of care went into keeping everything clean and inviting. Another highlight was that we were told not to rush on our checkout, which made the whole experience even more relaxed and enjoyable. There’s also a lovely pub downstairs I wished I could have sat for a drink, but the kids had other plans! Martin, being the absolute star that he is, actually went and knocked on the door and brought me a small bottle of red wine instead. It honestly felt like staying in a luxury hotel but I doubt I’d have received that kind of personal care anywhere else to be honest. This was by far the best stay of 2025 for us. Martin’s kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care for his guests really stood out and made our visit unforgettable. We left with such a positive impression and would 100% recommend the Commercial Hotel to anyone visiting the area. We’ll definitely be back.

Honestly, the only thing I didn’t like was not getting the chance to sit in the lovely pub downstairs, hopefully next time!

the bed the only answer was omg was the most comfortable bed ive ever slept in i loved the way we had our own space with sofa large screen tv fridge microwave kitchen at our disposal the breakfast was serve your own there was fruit cheese meat juice porridge cereal's crumpets and bread for toast a selection of jams it was more than i expected after paying more for bed only in a hotel the night before that was no where near the same standard the staff went out there way even carrying my luggage the restaurant and bar down stairs where handy the village was very quaint but close enough to drive to other sites and cities

the fact the toilet was not in my room im disabled using two sticks walking along the corridor and 6 steps to the bathroom was hard but if i chose the ene suite ones it was another two flights of stairs to my room then down for breakfast there was no issue with it just my disability but they tried there best to help one staff member went to my car for me to get a bag i forgot to save me going down stairs

The staff were amazing. Really friendly and accommodating. Took me to my room showed me around everywhere in the hotel. I spent the night in the bar (which was surprisingly busy, for a wednesday) everytime I was ready for a drink, the staff had poured me it already to save me waiting. She even found the time to come over and have a chat amongst all the business, great touch to make me feel welcome!.

The only thing I would feel would have made my stay excellent is of I had a cooked breakfast. Saying this, the room was nice, bed very comfy and the price of the room was excellent, I'm maybe expecting to much for the price I paid. To clarify there was a option of going to the shared kitchen and making breakfast as it was all laid out.

Great wee hotel. Breakfast setup was different from what we were expecting but it was good to have a social space when multiple staff are travelling for work. Large rooms and shops and multiple takeaways within 1-2 minutes walk. Indian restaurant downstairs. Staff brilliant, really informative about the area.

Bathroom was tiny and getting out was a chore as the bed and bathroom door were so close to each other. We were only staying 1 night and it didn't impact our stay.

Room / bathroom / kitchen well appointed. The kitchen was well stocked for continental breakfast with cereals, friut, juice, tea, coffee, bread, bagels, ham, cheese, snack bars and more. There was a microwave for heating an evening meal if required. Also a dining table, TV and sofa. I was able to have breakfast very early when I would normally expect not to get anything. The bedroom was standard double bedroom. Bathroom (sole use but not ensuite) had a good and spacious shower. Off road parking available. Co-op and chippie and Indian restaurant all very closeby

Entrance and corridors looked a bit tired and in need of decaration (but not the actual accommodation rooms) I had to walk down a passageway to get to the bathroom

If you are looking for luxury this is not it, however if you are looking for a very comfortable bed, friendly welcome and high level of cleanliness this is a great place to stay. The breakfast provided was do-it-yourself but plenty cereal, milk, butter, bread, jam, yoghurt, ham and cheese.

no breakfast served but kitchen had food that you were welcome to use. The kitchen/lounge was a very unexpected bonus. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Very impressed with cost. Realise location is everything but we have paid £150 just for a bed,

Rooms that we used were clean ie bedroom, kitchen, bathroom. Stair woodwork could have done with a dust we we didn't care.

The room was excellent The breakfast was not described very well on your post It was help yourself continental breakfast 😋 was actually very good. Lots of things provided

Nothing really didn't like except the soap dish in the shower was rather grubby unhygienic

The food- stocked kitchen/sitting room was a huge bonus. Just incredible value. Perfect location for our Turriff show visit even though this year, enormous winds hugely shortened show. Always stay here. Big decorating effort from last time but would not have mattered

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with super cosy bedding. The kitchen was well stocked and available throughout my stay.

I was warned that there was noise from the pub downstairs and there was till 1.30am Friday and Saturday
