We loved the location, just a beautiful setting and grounds. The Turrets Suite was lovely, plenty of room and massive shower within one of the Turrets. The food we had was lovely, had a meal in the cave bar and thoroughly enjoyed it and breakfast was lovely too. It's beautiful outside and although we didn't make use of the outdoor bar within the dome it looks amazing and a very chilled relaxing looking space to enjoy (especially on a sunny day).

Only thing to point out would be, for the amount that you pay for the Turret Suite, it could benefit of a freshen up in the decor department. Signs of leaks on the walls etc and lots if scuff marks on the wall just inside the room. But realise this Suite is within the existing old part of the building so much harder to maintain etc. Also for the price of the Suite we assumed breakfast was included but was an extra.

We had a fantastic stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming in all parts of the hotel we visited (reception, the bar, and the domes). We stayed in one of the stable rooms and I couldn't recommend it enough. Spacious and comfortable; perfect for a relaxing evening. The bathroom was modern and very well equipped: a massive room with underfloor heating, a big bath, a walk-in waterfall shower, and heated towel racks. The food was lovely and the cocktails were exceptional. We particularly enjoyed having our brunch in the dome.

The rooms were a bit on the warm side during the night.

Hotel has the potential to be stunning. Nice location, estate and great golf course. The restaurant food was great and the cave bar cosy. Staff were professional and friendly.

The accomodation was dated. Furniture not in keeping. Heating couldn't be controlled. Heated floors in bathroom nice idea but as heating wasn't controlled it was literally like a sauna. Beds were uncomfortable and pillows felt very old and flat. Small windows could only be opened a little and didn't help much to cool the room. Booked the stables as these were the only rooms with "twin beds" but they were also the rooms where pets were allowed and both my daughter and I have pet allergies. With the heat of the room and the inevitable pet hair remnants from previous guests, the allergies were bad. The water temperature in shower could not be turned to cold. It was near to scolding.

Rooms are generous, mostly new equipment. Parking lots are available. Rooms are quiet. Personnel is mostly very professional. Bar and lounge rooms are of great style.

When we turned on the bathtub water, live bugs came out, that was very filthy, we reported it the next day as we also found some of these bugs on the walls. We understand it is an old infrastructure, but nevertheless, bugs are really nothing to like or ignore. The reaction on the description and the pictures at the reception was "oh ok, I will report it to the cleaning service", a bit more empathy for guests might help you remain a great house. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special and the prices were a bit exagerated (e.g. 18gbp for a tine bread bun and 2 poached eggs).

Staff are really nice. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are large and have plenty of plugs and a place to work. The Scottish breakfast was excellent, nice to have haggis with it. Dinner was great, not too much and not too little. Good choices but not so many that you struggle with what to pick. Steak was cooked exactly as asked. Great parking too.

Room was a little warm. Shower drain was a little clogged. Could have done with more additions to the steak, tomatoes or mushrooms (or more brilliant haggis). Thats being really picky though.

Staff, Breakfast and room were excellent. Much enjoyed.

I had not realised we had chosen a day to stay when the restaurant was closed. We have eaten in the Cave Bar before and enjoyed the experience. However, on this occasion the Cave Bar was so busy and noisy, waited ages to be served and the food was very poor. Perhaps no chef in the kitchen that evening? We left most of our food but the Server was not very interested and no offer of a substitution. I had attempted to book a quiet table on line but could not and by the time I realised that was not working and telephoned to be told that the on-line booking for that day had been disabled, so table allocated would not have been of our choosing, Disappointing as we always enjoy our visits to Meldrum House.

During the past year we have stayed fairly often due to work trips. All of the staff are excellent and the rooms very comfortable. During our last stay, due to a minor hinch, we needed to change rooms in the middle of the night. The staff on duty arranged this for us within a few minutes. We were very grateful. We can recommend eating in either the bar or Pineapple restuarant. Waking up to see swans, ducks and jackdaws (not to forget the highland cows) adds to the enjoyment of our stay.

Loved the grounds, facilities and historic building

Unfortunately all of the areas we used were over heated. It would be so much better to turn the heating down. Our bathroom was like a sauna. The dining room and breakfast room were uncomfortably overheated. Breakfast was good, but wasteful. For example instead of offering toast it is just delivered. It would be better for the environment to cut down on food waste wherever possible. It's a beautiful place but could be run in a more environmentally friendly way in places.

We sampled all meals and they were all first rate. The setting is lovely and the pods are a very contemporary addition. We witnessed several weddings during our stay.

We only have 2 critiques - we had a power cut for 20mins one evening and sat in the dark wondering what was going on. Secondly, our room was a king room facing the back garden and rubbish bins. Staff woke us both nights in the early hours by banging the rubbish bags into the bins and talking for 10mins outside. It certainly disturbed our sleep.

Well, we loved everything, every moment. And so did Shadow, our dog. “Fabulous” does not do it justice, how do I describe this wonderful place? The vista (even in the damp and murky leafless early spring) is beautiful- swans on the lake, mist on on the Scottish horizons - I wish we could have stayed forever, I really do. Breakfast in the Cave was immense, and how accommodating were the staff; kind and courteous. Our Stable room was beautiful and the dog facilities (bowls, bed, dog treats - oh the treats woof) were awesome; the coffee and human biscuits (Highland COO) magic, the towels magnificent, the bed sumptuous, the hairdryer accessible. All brilliant and blimey, what’s this - a fridge? With milk and bottled mineral water? Incredible. Thank you, so very much. This felt special and it was, it truly was.

Nothing. Tiny gripes, but Ok, the bannisters from 410 to the ground floor are very slippery and the shower has no grips (I’m very disabled) but it was easy to cope. Maybe the fact they didn’t beg me to move in forever but otherwise perfect, the cost of the dog seemed excessive (£25 a night) but she loved the biscuits and they made her so very welcome- so she’s not complaining and neither are we.
