This is our 3rd time staying here & we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. My mother-in-law just lives down the road. The lodge is just what you want if you're looking for a traditional Scottish stay. With tartan carpets, blankets, beautiful furniture, it is just perfect!!! The gardens are amazing & beautifully kept. We cant help but make it our home when we stay. The staff really go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Especially Dawn, my new wee pal!!! Hi Dawn 🖐, just keep being you. You're wonderful!!! This is a great location for visiting the sights of Aberdeenshire. We cant wait to come back already!!!
There is nothing we can fault. Even staying at the room 34 stairs up was brilliant!!! Brilliant excercise & you get used to them in no time.

The room was spacious and clean, plenty of in room amenities to make stays long or short very comfortable. The outdoor space was beautiful and well kept, the bar was well stocked and the lounge/restaurant were pretty. The proximity to the park was ideal for families or dogs, and Inverurie is minutes away for brilliant food options. The bed was comfy and spare pillows provided. There's plenty parking and it's quiet and peaceful while also being minutes walk to shops, cafes, anything you need.
The lack of a 'formail' reception .can't you may wait a minute or two to get attention but nothing problematic. The staff were all friendly to deal with.

We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay, honestly, the room was an absolute dream. If we had known how lovely it would be, we would’ve booked a few more nights. It’s one of the rare places we’d happily return to again. The bed was super comfortable and the room itself felt more like a suite than a standard room. We had to check in very late due to our car breaking down, but the receptionist was incredibly kind and accommodating. He made sure everything was set up for a smooth self-check-in, leaving us clear instructions and making the whole process stress-free. Really thoughtful service that made a tough day end on a great note. Highly recommend, thank you for a wonderful stay!
there was absolutely nothing not to like!

Room no 6. Lovely place to stay in, comfy bed, good shower pressure, bath including, all upgraded, and definitely value for money. The garden is beautiful, and it is possible to sit outside for a pint when the weather allows. The room was a bit hunted. The door opened itself twice, something dropped on the floor during the night, but nothing was on the floor. It probably could be explained logically. Hands prints on the mirror when the batroom went steammed. I actually didn't mind any of that for the price it was offered 😅 The room was a lovely room and I would stay there again.

We loved everything about this hotel!!! Lovely room with view over the garden. Staff went out of their way to help us & so polite & friendly. Especially Kayleigh!!! I made a new friend there. Good luck with Uni, Kayleigh!!! See you next year. Food was exceptional. Massive servings. Best Scottish breakfast ever!!! Great chef!!! Brilliant location for my mother-in-law's. 2 minutes down the road. Ideal for our days out in the surrounding area. Garden is so beautiful. Our second time staying here & will be back next year for sure!!!
Our room could have done with new wallpaper as it was peeling off the wall & carpet could do with a clean.

Wow where to start, I found this gem while visiting the local area. The inside is very warm and cosy and beautifully decorated. The staff were so warm and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. No impersonal self-check-ins here people! My room was on the top floor and can only be described as a cosy little snug. Gorgeously decorated with pretty lighting and an illustration of a castle. The bed was decent and had a lovely tartan rug on top. I was delighted to see there was a pretty antique-looking writing desk and chair in the room with plenty of space to hang clothes and store bags. There is a nice bath in the bathroom and this is the first place I saw had a proper bath matt as well as a matt in front of the loo. No moving the thin little matt around with a foot in this bathroom! I loved the fact that I could open the window in both the bedroom and bathroom. Pleasant continental breakfast, and decent coffee. The evening meal I had here was scrumptious everything on their menu looked amazing. The dining room had so much ambience and music in the background was not over loud meaning people were still able to talk to each other. Parking right outside. Bravo! highly recommend. I ended up booking a second night. Would visit again.
If I have to pick one thing it would be refresh the pillows.

The location was perfect for us. It is a lovely old style hotel with lots of character. The rooms were excellent. We loved the 4 poster bed.
Pillows were terrible. Either replace them for pillows that have some filling inside them or put more pillows in the room. No grab handles to assist in getting in and out of the bath, which was a bit of a concern for a ‘wobbly’ 70 something year old, especially as the wonderfully powerful shower managed to spray onto the bathroom floor due to a totally useless narrow glass screen! The toilet seat was broken at the hinges, so if you managed to get in and out of the bath in one piece, the toilet would probably get you. It would have been nice if the heating in the room had been turned on a couple of hours before we arrived. It was 0°C when we arrived and the room and bathroom were really cold.

The property is a traditional building with lots of history and some of the original fixtures have been kept together with adding some modern features too. The hotel has recently had a refresh of painting which enhances the traditional feel. The staff can’t do enough for you and are friendly and helpful. It’s cosy, clean and very comfortable. Plenty of parking is available on site. The breakfast is hearty and I love that they have a barista coffee machine delivering that ultimate coffee/caffeine hit with breakfast. The lunch and dinner menu delivers a selection of foods together with the ultimate traditional Italian pizza selection too. The pricing for a stay is affordable for a perfect getaway with friends.
Nothing. It ticks all the boxes.

Staff accomodationg and very welcoming. Not too pushy. Asked if we needed rooms cleaning that day if they saw us. Breakfast fab on the weekend, room lovely and could change temperature easily. We find all hotel rooms too hot
Draw space very minimal for a week long stay. No hot breakfast on the weekdays, disappointing if you are there all week but I understand that this was not in season so do appreciate. Gave us some interesting trips out and about to find some hot breakfast choices.

The staff first and foremost!! Then the food....just perfect and we are both fussy so and so's
The slight clash of colours and patterns in room 6, oh and the new jukebox with it's terrible selection of music .....that sadly is a major issue, music for ourselves is very important ! We much preferred the chefs playlist prior to the new machine being fitted. The lighting in room 3, as on our first night it was far too bright in both the bathroom but mainly in the bedroom, due to the bedside lamps, also the lack of privacy when in room 3 in particular whilst in the bathroom.....flash aaaahhhh..... three minor things that are easy to change though xxxx The radiators in both rooms we stayed in, either need to be painted, or ideally covered as they are both not great. You have a great place, with amazing bones!!! .....the lodge just needs some TLC in areas.
