We had a very pleasant stay at the White Horse Inn. The location was great — just next to the bus stop, which made it easy to get around. It was nice to walk to the beach or take the bus to nearby towns without any hassle. The restaurant was a highlight — the food was delicious, with generous portions. The best thing after a long day out was sitting down with a hot meal and a pot of tea. Pure comfort. The room was cozy and well-ventilated, and although the space was just a bit tight for two people, it was still very comfortable overall. The only small issue we had was that the toilet sometimes needed two or three flushes to work properly, but apart from that, everything was great. We had a genuinely nice time, and hope to come back again someday. Balmedie is such a lovely town — the seaside is absolutely stunning.

The owner, Mario was a first class host couldn’t go enough to ensure we were both happy. As an small independent there were no all singing, all dancing gimmicks. A small hotel, more than adequate for our 1 night stay, we had dinner in the restaurant, a great choice of menu, we both enjoyed our dinner, great service, excellent food. We were the only nes to request breakfast and Mario himself came in especially to cook our breakfast which was very good.

Nothing, every aspect of our stay was very good. The service was excellent, the owner was in attendance, he was very helpful and friendly.

I am on a Scottish golfing holiday and this hotel provided a perfect facility and close to all of the notable golf courses in the Aberdeen district. Other than being a convenient locality, the food offering was exceptional (for a golfer) - good breakfast offering and a varied dinner menu. In addition to the food offering, the staff were both professional, efficient and friendly. Finally the manager of the facility was most obliging and flexible to accomodate the needs of a golfer

Staff are really friendly and professional, rooms are clean and cozy, food was delicious. Beach and shop walkable distance, Aberdeen City drivable distance.

Beds could be a bit more comfortable, but are fine for a couple days, other people might find them comfortable, bathroom could do with a revamp, pressure in shower wasn't great. But these are very minor, I would 100% come back again.

Breakfast fantastic and Mario could not have been more accommodating. I am Coeliac and he went to the shops to get me gf sausages for my breakfast. The service was exceptional and we would definitely stay there again.

The bathroom needs updating. Shower not good and toilet seat dreadful.

A very professional welcome to this lovely hotel from the owners, Mario and Raj. Escorted to the room, to see that everything met my needs, which they did. Spotlessly clean, a very comfortable double bed, large bath with overhead shower, large TV, and ample tea and coffee supplies. All staff were very pleasant, friendly and attentive. A lovely cooked breakfast in the morning set me up for my onward journey. Great value for money, and I will certainly stay here the next time I'm in the area.

Mario was an exceptional host who went out of his way to make sure everything was provided for a comfortable stay. The room was very clean and comfortable and I had everything I needed. The room was lovely and warm. The staff were accommodating and helpful and did extra things like carrying my case out to my car and providing extra bottles of water to drink. The breakfast was tasty and I was given a generous portion. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely go here again.

On arrival greeted by Kiah who showed us to our room and waited to ensure the key worked. A lovely young woman who was happy, enthusiastic and wanted to help; inspirational! Mario, who was front of house, couldn't do enough for us. Range and quality of food was quick frankly staggering for a village pub / hotel: what a little gem!! Will stop here everything we come to Aberdeenshire.

The location is excellent , in a quiet seaside village a couple of minutes from the amazing Balmedie beach but just off dual carriageway for easy access to Aberdeen City and shire. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. There is an excellent bar and restaurant as part of the hotel. Delicious fresh food. The staff were all friendly and a special mention for Mario who was so welcoming and helpful

Can't think of anything I didn't like

I arrived after a long drive. I caught the restaurant with only 3 minutes of service left. Not a problem. I also wanted to eat in my room. Again, not a problem. I was shown to my room (separate building to reception), my case was carried for me. Food was then brought to my room within 15 minutes. Piping hot, and delicious. Room was an excellent size. Bed was big and comfortable. TV was massive. Everything was clean. Free WiFi.

I can only mention the shower. It was scalding hot. I tried every combination of adjusting the taps. In the end I had the cold on full, with nothing from the hot, and it was still red hot! I only stayed one night, so wasn't a major issue, but would need addressing for a longer stay
