The staff were exceptional especially the young lady who checked us in. She went above and beyond as I suffer from sciatica and was in bad pain on that particular day, and wanted to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We had dinner that evening and the food was 10/10, such big portions couldn’t manage a dessert and our dog could also be beside us in a different area. The breakfast by Val was also 10/10, such a lovely person. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom also clean. Will definitely be back. We went back a second time for an evening meal for my birthday the food was so good and we had a 3 course meal.

We stayed for two nights and couldn't have felt more at home! All the staff were super friendly and happy to help, the room was quiet, cosy, and well equipped, and Tarves is a beautiful place to explore! The food was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner, and the bar is very fairly priced too. We travelled with our dogs who got a bit spooked and barked at the cleaner when left in the room at breakfast, but all the staff were very understanding and the dogs soon settled. Highly recommend and looking forward to staying again!

The breakfast was very well provisioned and was, in my opinion, the best fried breakfast I've had in many many years. Plenty of toast, cereal, orange juice and bananas included too with either tea or coffee in plentiful supply. Val made sure that nothing was too much of an issue and we ended up exchanging some life stories. Lovely place to stay and extremely excellent value for money. the room was comfortable with a great shower.

Everything was perfect. Miss Valerie, the owner, she's absolutely fantastic; polite, always available to help with any problem. The breakfast was amazing. Moreover there is a very nice pub inside the hotel, the food is incredibly good. The atmosphere there was excellent. The hotel is very good value for money, clean, safe, and comfortable.

The breakfast was really good as we chose exactly what we wanted to have. The porridge was exceptionally good. The bar staff and waitresses were really pleasant and hard working. Nothing was too much bother. The owner, Val, was really attentive and really good company. We felt we were talking to a friend we'd known for years.

We liked everything. The evening meals were excellent value with excellent options.

Food in the restaurant was great, as was the full breakfast. Pub grub and specials board too. Enjoyed quesadillas, chilli, and scampi. Also heard another guest saying the burger stack was exceptional. All nicely presented and better than the norm. Also comfortable beds.

Small room meant not much space for our copious amounts of motorcycle paraphernalia.

The young staff member on our arrival was pleasant and very helpful. The room was spotless and had everything we needed for a night, tv, kettle with plenty tea, coffee etc, shower and a hair drier. The bed was comfy and we slept soundly all night. The breakfast was realy lovely, freshly cooked and made even better by the large pots of tea and coffee! Every member of staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful , parking at the hotel was no problem and in a very peaceful wee village.

Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Rooms very clean; slightly small but well appointed. Friendly and helpful staff. Dinner and/or drinks available in evenings for extra charge, very convenient.

Bed slightly hard (but I still slept well). Need darker curtains to block out light.

Classically styled, perfectly clean, great food and good location. Outstanding hospitality from all the staff who really made me feel welcome and taken care of. Particular shout out to Kyra the bar manager, she’s a real asset to the place.

Mattress in the single room might be due an upgrade soon.

Nice location right on the square in the village of Tarves. Very comfortable beds, plenty of towels and toiletries. Clean, bright & quiet. The staff were wonderfully helpful with some last minute wardrobe issues we had. Generous breakfast served until 10, which was a treat!

Room was typically small and not much insulation - we could hear the snorer in the room next door.
