Lovely location, stayed with friends and enjoyed our break however the problems arose after we checked out.

The day after we checked out I received an email c/w an invoice saying they had missed £94.10 worth of drinks from our bill and that they would use the card on file to take payment. I immediately called to inform them that the drinks listed were definitely not ours and suggested they speak to the barman who had served us during our stay as I was sue he would remember what we had ordered. It is now three days later and I have heard nothing back from the hotel. I would have expected someone would have the decency to contact us to confirm their mistake and an apology would have been nice. I feel they have definitely let themselves down. This was our second visit I now feel it will be our last.

Beautiful place, the rooms and grounds are so well kept. Delicious evening meal in the conservatory and a great breakfast.

Not sure if the health club is managed by the hotel, but we went in for a swim at 07:30 and were asked if we had booked. We weren’t aware we should have, and the lady on the reception made it sound like she was making an exception for us. We were allowed in ‘with the 08:00 slot’, to find there was one other person leaving the pool as we arrived. I could understand if it was busy, but it was completely empty the whole time we were in the pool. But aside from that ‘issue’, we’re happy with our stay 😊

The grounds of this hotel are really incredible, we were "wowed" by the beautiful and diverse gardens and nice walking paths. Also a lot of gems in the area that may not stand out on standard travel guides. You can spend a day exploring within an hour of the hotel, very easily. We were in a separate building that was suitable for our purpose, but close enough to enjoy the main building. The main building has a very upscale feel, with a bar and two nicer restaurant options. Our rooms were more utilitarian, but clean and comfortable.

Beautifully appointed property with lots of facilities. They provide a nine hole free golf course and an excellent in house dining option. Apparently there is a health spa as well, but we never got that far.

There’s a huge variety in the size of bathrooms and bedrooms. We had two rooms and our adult children had an enormous bathroom fit with handicap accessories etc, while our shower and toilet were literally meant for small people. If you are staying more than one night, consider checking out the room to make sure the proportions fit you.

The best place I stayed in Scotland. Historic countryside house near the Cairngorns with charm and personality and a beautiful garden. Incredible story of the family who owned the place, in particular Lady MacRoberts and her connection to the RAF, which guests can see and feel in the main house. Excellent dinner and breakfast in the Conservatorium (I didn't try the Library dinner, but I guess it is a remarkable experience). Lovely bar, very professional and friendly staff.

Not having stayed more nights!

Beautiful location. Loveky gardens to relax in. Apartment spacious and very clean.just are steps from main hotel. Staff all helpful.

Bar and restaurant selection restricted and not to suit all tastes. Normally I can find something on any menu to like but struggled here with dinner selection. Breakfast good however and service well organised and prompt.

We attended a wedding at Douneside and it was wonderful, the staff were so professional and looked after your every need. A very happy occasion and a wonderful location. The food was sublime

We were in room 7 and the radiators were very noisy when coming on, I think there must have been air in the system, we reported this on checking out, so I hope they take a look at this for future guests.

The setting is beautiful, and the staff were very attentive, the food was outstanding, the gardens are sentimental.

There is a hoover, bucket and mop stored outside our bedroom door, which was disappointing. The gym / swimming pool is in need of attention. Not the standard expected, shame it is open to the public not exclusive to guests. The steam room and sauna didn’t seem to be working completely.

I had an exceptional stay at Douneside. The Staff were friendly, helpful, warm, and professional. The food was excellent and truly delicious, with additional touches such as complimentary tea and cake in the afternoon. Douneside manages to balance the feel of home with being well cared for. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend visiting

Amazing, we truly loved it. We stayed in the Gatehouse and it was very charming, clean and with all you could wish for. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, it really does feel as your Home away from Home. The garden and estate, dont get me started. Really spectacular, oh my just georgios. We loved the putting green and just going about in the garden taking in the view and the amazing greenroom and beautiful estate.

Nothing at all, it was all you could wish for
