Met Phil the owner at his home on the main road and he took us down to the cottage, he showed us around and showed us how everything worked. The cottage had everything we needed, it was cosy and warm, it was in an ideal location close to the town centre but was quiet with off street parking and a lovely garden. In short it was ideal.

Phil made a bit of a hash of organising some decent weather for us, but that's about the only negative thing I can think of.

An excellent property. Exceptional host and perfect location in beautiful Ballater. Cosy and immaculately clean. Had everything we needed. Rooms and bathrooms of very high standard. We had a wonderful base for our family reunion and will keep this property on file for our next visit.

Downstairs decor was beautifully modern. Upstairs bathroom was huge, and we had such a comfortable sleep. Host had a very welcoming personality.

The facility list had ironing facilities on it, however, the property did not have an iron. I took this for granted and brought a top that would have to be ironed after being in a case and ended up not being able to wear it (a very small inconvenience that didn’t impact my stay, but I was expecting it to be there as it was on the list).

Outstanding location. Short walk to everything in the village. Phil was a great host. Talked us through everything, recommended restaurants and suggested activities. The property was so nice, super clean, very updated, off street parking, beautiful back garden…couldn’t ask for more.

The only coffee maker is a French press. It worked fine for us. More of an FYI for others to be prepared.

Hillview exceeded all my expectations. The house was incredibly clean and so nicely decorated, I would have loved to have stayed there a few weeks. It had a beautiful landscaped yard with a summer house that the owner told us we could use. Also, such an easy walk into Ballater.

I loved everything about this place. There was absolutely nothing anyone could find fault with.

Our stay at Hillview was excellent, the cottage was very clean, decorated to a high standard and very comfortable, The host was very friendly and came to introduce himself to myself and party. Was very easy to contact them. Would highly recommend Hillview.

Our stay at Hillside was exceptional! The place is immaculate, the accomodations and furnishings are beyond exceptional, in a very quiet area but close walk to everything. There is an outdoor patio to relax and enjoy, too. Phil is a character and made us feel right at home and was so helpful with suggestions of what to do. We highly recommend it!

Was nice having a whole place to ourselves with family. Was very comfortable and clean. We shopped at the local grocery store so we could have breakfast in the morning before we left. Quiet and relaxing neighbourhood.

Beautifully presented and equipped with all necessary appliances for a comfortable stay, clean, and incredibly comfy beds. TV and Internet provided, board games to play (which we personally loved), and Phil was welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Would absolutely recommend!

Friendly, helpful host, great location close to facilities but far enough away from noise, beautiful, comfortable spacious interior, lots of hot water. Nothing not to like.
