Wecameto Banchory as I was volunteering as a "Kiltie" at the Aberdeen Kiltwalk. We were given a twin room towards the back of the hotel, away from the hubbub of the bar and lounge. On arrival, friendly local customers suggested we put our cases inside a doorway at the bottom of the stairs leading to the rooms. We were thus able to enter the lounge/bar to check in more readily. I had messaged via Booking.com to inform staff that our arrival would be after 21.00 as we were going to arrive in Aberdeen at 20.02. After settling in with a cuppa we went to the bar and discovered that Saturday was karaoke night. We also met a Kiltwalker whom I know, with his partner, and had a fabulous fun evening. Sunday night was also good with the juke box and some Kiltwalkers celebrating.

A continental breakfast available in the bar would have been ideal. My volunteer shift started at 09.30 and I had to go to Greens convenience store to pick up something for breakfast.

No parking, you can park on the street, and ignore the 45 min max wait as no traffic wardens to worry about apparently. I parked in the main town car park a short 10min walk from the hotel. It was free too. No food on offer in the pub, all surrounding food outlets close at 8pm apart from Turkish and Indian takeaways so be aware of eating late.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, cannot do enough for you. As soon as you walk in you can smell dettol which is a fab sign. We arrived in Banchory the night before and after a horrendous experience somewhere else the previous night I went over and asked if there was any chance of checking in early to enable ourselves to have a hot shower etc after travelling 9 hours the day before. They were super friendly and flexible and got our room ready within 30 mins. Checking to see if there was anything we needed and if we did think of anything to let them know. It was almost like a home from home but being looked after instead of you looking after someone. Absolutely delightful. The team of staff and the owner do not get enough credit and are all wonderfully kind people who do a fantastic job.

There wasn't anything I didn't like, when i next visit banchory I would come here over anywhere else.

This was an ideal location for me as I came by public transport. Likewise the accommodation as I was looking for the basics - clean, ensuite etc.

There were some swallow chicks on the gutter outside who welcomed the early dawn - actually I did quite like, but what a din. Unfortunately the Inn does not do breakfasts but there are shops and caffes in easy walking distance.

Very friendly with a real country pup feeling. Lovely welcoming from staff and locals. It was close to everything and very comfortable.

My only dislike was when the room next to me put their shower on at the same time as mine, mine would come to a trickle but it didn’t affect my stay at all.

The manager, Kath, was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect—right in the center of Banchory.

The toiled has a flushing problem, but we were allowed to use the bathroom in the unused room next door.

Centrally located, clean, comfortable albeit basic facilities. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.

There's nothing I disliked. It is basic, comfortable lodging, the price is reflective of the offering.

Booked the room very last minute as our previous hotel double booked us. For what we needed it was perfect, somewhere to rest our heads

Everything was perfect. Very comfortable bed and chair. Peaceful and nice staff.

They changed the wifi password and forgot to change the info in the room. I was about one hour trying to set it up. Funny situation anyway hahahaha
