Option for 'room only' would be good especially when breakfast seemed to consist mostly of 'cooked' although I did see someone with porridge. I would have liked fruit salad and yoghurt - even a small choice and some cereal - if it was available, it wasn't apparent. Cooked breakfast was good though. Choice of bar meals and quality was good.

See above re breakfast. The bathroom glass shelf in our room (was it 6?) maybe could be re sited to avoid bashing face when getting washed. Husband noticed skirting boards in bathroom may be starting to deteriorate.

A very interesting place to stay, it took a while to find someone to book us in, the reception was more of a store area when we arrived. The room was really small with a view of adjoining roofs but you could see the coast in the distance. Breakfast was interesting, there seemed to be a good choice, but unlike any other hotel/B&B we have stayed in there was no choice for toast, when my wife asked the server seemed very put out and surprised anyone should ask, but we did get the toast, placed on the side of my wife's omelette with no separate plate for this use, other meals were good, but we made use of the local Indian restaurant one night as you can only eat so many meals with chips. Overall a different place to stay, but a bit frayed around the edges especially in the service side. Stonehaven is a great little place to stay however, lots to see and places to eat, with a great shore front walk with interesting metal sculptures.

Offish attitude of the person waiting on breakfast, not the usual sort of service we had found on other trips. The room was ok but the bathroom was the smallest I have ever come across, a full size walk in shower, nice, but the rest was the width of the toilet with the washbasin inset into the wall.

The staff were all lovely, but I would have to give a shout out to the two housekeeping ladies that gave us extra bedding for our travel cot. Made sure our little girl had a good night's sleep and that's we didn't need anything else. The breakfast was lovely, and eggs were perfect. It's great to have free street parking right outside, too. It made moving everything you travel with much easier.

I would say that the room was slightly miss advertised as it was so small we had to move furniture to fit our travel cot in which we put on the booking and in the additional comments. The bed was on the very hard side, but that might be what some people like. I left with a slightly sore hip. The window was also frosted over, which made me feel a little like I was in a bathroom.

This hotel was such a surprise, walking into the room and seeing the huge window with the sea right outside was just perfect. Although the room was small it had everything you would need and we spent all evening looking out of the window feeling very relaxed. We also went for dinner in the hotel and thought it was great and breakfast was good too with several cooked options. We were able to store our luggage after checkout which was very helpful.

We didn't have any soap in the bathroom, also there were a lot of flies on the window, maybe needed to be wiped with an anti fly spray.

The building was aesthetic extertior and interior. The room was a good size for both of us as well as comfortable space to be in. Very close to the beach which was lovely and convenient. The selection of breakfast was diverse without being too much to choose from and the lay out with the 'help youself' juice and coffee bar gave an authentic hotel experience. Food was delicious and a good sized portion Overall the place was well worth the price and stay and would happily return 😊

Did ask for extra milk as I like my cuppa really milky. The Barmaid the first night went and got us some but could only find three little cartons. I need four in a cuppa. The next day left a note for the maid asking for extra milk but only left two.Had to go and buy a pint but nowhere cold to keep it. Unfortunately I am a tea Jenny. Very underdone toast and Saturday the eggs were perfect, but on Sunday a poached and a fried which we couldn't eat as very underdone. Other than that love Stonehaven and was our fifth stay at the Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at #44. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea, and we slept with the window opened. It was lovely. The location is perfect for exploring on foot. The town is charming and there is a beautiful trail (about an hour walk) to the Dunnottar Castle. Breakfast was very good as well. Would do it again.

The room is a bit dated but it was not a problem for us.

Simple but good. Rooms with (some) sea view and centrally located. The bar which is part of the hotel is nice for a drink. Car can easily be parked at the lot on the market place on the opposite side of the street (paid).

The place is somewhat old, but no major issue for me. Breakfast offers possibility to choose from the menu, there is no buffet. Also here: no big deal for me.

Came to Stonehaven for the New Years Fireballs event. Our room was clean, cozy, and with a smart tv, kettle with tea & coffee & biscuits, hairdryer, and clothes hangers. Shower was hot and clean. All staff were very nice. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Liked the view of the beach from the window. We took a walk on the seaside path accessed just around the corner. Council parking right across the street is £5 for all day.

I would have liked having an additional inside deadbolt or a security latch added to the door, but felt safe enough by just locking the door at night.

Breakfast and evening meals very good and great menus,service excellent.All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The blinds in the bedroom needs to be taken down and binned just didn't fit so therefore wouldn't close properly so was woken each very early with the light coming in, the room was very clean and tidy but could do with a freshen up(paint ect)and maybe new beds. Will use the hotel again probably next year.
