Prices - the cheapest price for wine was £34 which is too expensive as was £35 for a steak. I also noted a slight lack of attention to detail, for example the front glass door was not working, it appeared to be slightly ajar, thereby allowing leaves into the entrance area.

We have stayed twice before which speaks for itself. The rooms are spacious, the staff helpful. well trained and kind, the food good. It has its own ambience in spacious grounds. It retains its country house appearance, very well furnished, including a number of antiques. We are elderly, but the lift makes luggage disposal easy. The corridors are picture-lined and simple to navigate. The weekend is a time for weddings, but apart from numbers at the front door they don't impinge on guests and the kilts add to the attraction. We may go again.

The menu is small and unchanging for a four-day stay.

I had a Booking.com room upgrade to a deluxe double that also included breakfast. The room was quite large and fairly well appointed, although I would say it was a little dated. One thing the room was missing was a fan, particularly as it was hot weather. I understand that air-con is probably impossible, but having a fan as an alternative would be beneficial. Staff were all very pleasant.

The dinner menu is very limited and very expensive for what it is. Only one veggie option and that was not very imaginative (butternut squash risotto). I wouldn't eat in the restaurant another time. Breakfast was nice enough - I had the Scottish breakfast, but asked for no sausage or black pudding. I was then disappointed that one slice of bacon was deemed enough. Additionally, I found it unacceptable that you have to pay extra for certain items - for example to have Eggs Benedict which is a fairly standard breakfast option in most hotels, would have cost an additional £5.

Our room was capacious. Bed comfortable. Spotlesly clean. Excellent sound insulation. Outlook on to trees. The decor was striking and what we expected, Staff extremely helpful. Meal delicious and quantity just right. The background music during dinner was pleasant and NOT INTRUSIVE as is so often the case. Fine grounds we were able to explore admiring the planting. Although the hotel had many guests there was a tranquil and efficent atmosphere helped by its setting amidst such magnifiscent trees and grounds.

Nothing. We genuinely found our stay delightful. It was unusual for us not to find something not quite right!

My room was very comfortable, large enough to spend a lot of time in without feeling cooped up. A large desk and plenty of power outlets were very helpful. The water pressure in the shower was exceptional. I have stayed quite a few times and the hotel never fails to disappoint. The staff are invariably helpful, pleasant and accommodating.

One small gripe which is purely personal and not particularly important, is the lack of a Nespresso machine. A good number of hotels of this caliber provide Nespresso machines rather than sachets of brown substance masquerading as coffee.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Norwood Hall Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond—friendly, helpful, and always professional. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with a warm, elegant atmosphere that made it feel both luxurious and comfortable. The tea area, bar, and drawing rooms were especially lovely—perfect spots to unwind, with a refined yet cozy vibe. The breakfast and dinner room was equally impressive, offering a relaxing and upscale setting for meals. Everything was thoughtfully designed and executed to make guests feel welcome and at ease. I’d highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!

Love the style of the building and grounds. The breakfast was cooked to order which was delicious and good quality. Lovely toiletries - room/bathroom 242 exceptionally clean.

Initial room smelled like a dog shelter, we have a dog with us but this was unacceptable. The initial room felt like we were in the basement, smelled musty in the corridors and there was a lot of dust in the room. We were however moved. The bed in the new room had two single beds pushed together - so not the best for a good night sleep. Room service - food was nice but way overpriced and with an £8 tray charge.

The Hall is steeped in history the main staircase and old library are just beautiful. The rooms are large and roomy and warm.. The towels are changed everyday, big fluffy towels, and the cleanliness is exceptional. The breakfast is amazing different cereals, fruits, yoghurt and a hot menu to die for.. The staff are just lovely and take time to talk to you. They are informative and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I especially loved the veggie Haggis, absolutely lovely. We had snow during our stay and the grounds looked magical.

Leaving after 4 Nights bed breakfast and evening dinner - a second veggie option at dinner would be good.

We were a large family gathering who were staying at Norwood Hall following a funeral that day. Unfortunately my Fathers long term partner had passed away and we needed to get away somewhere quiet, nice and private. After mentioning our situation to Katrina the Manager we were blown away when she upgraded my Father to a Suite. It was the kindest gesture I have ever seen and made a world of difference to my Father especially. Thank you so very much Katrina. She also said we could use the library for some privacy. The rest of the staff were also incredibly pleasant and professional too. The food, evening meal and breakfast, were also superb with great friendly service again. Can not thank everybody at Norwood Hall enough. It certainly helped ease a very sad occasion.

Couldn't fault our stay in any way.
