Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and keen to help. The room was clean and comfortable with nice white fluffy towels and a view over the village square and distant hills. Secure storage was provided for our bikes. We didn’t eat dinner there this time but the food being brought out looked good and breakfast in the morning was excellent.

The initial appearance of the outside of the hotel was a bit scruffy but don’t let that put you off. A skip and some tidying up would make the world of a difference. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t amazing but it was fine and to be expected on the top floor of an older property.

Old hotel in a beautiful environment. Very friendly staff and you can have an excellent dinner there. The breakfast is also excellent. There is not much to do in the village but the bar of the hotel is very well visited and is very cozy. We were here on the moped from the Netherlands and we had a great time.

Great location for a cross Cairngorms trip. Room was pretty basic- on the third floor so lots of stairs to lug the suitcase up but very spacious. Great atmosphere in the bar and friendly staff.

Toilet took an age to refill and the trickle of water seemed to be especially loud and must have gone on for over 5 mins. But in the scheme of things not a big problem.. shows it was quiet if that was the only thing to complain about.

A pleasant hotel with very nice staff. Both the room and en-suite were large, and had everything we needed. Even though the hotel is situated on a main road, it was relatively quiet. Parking was easy right next to the hotel, which meant we didn't get too wet loading/unloading bags. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, food and drink are a real plus point here. We ate in the bar area where the atmosphere was friendly, with a local guy chatting all night about fishing.......gave his poor wife a rest I suppose!

The hotel has a beautiful nostalgic charm and is very cozy. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly (Sly the cat as well!) and breakfast is a solid Scottish one. Perfectly located for the Cairngorms and Speyside.

Nothing really, mind you it's by no means a modern hotel, so you should be fine with some rustic interiors.

No major grumbles, would suggest that fresh fruit past it's best is removed from the breakfast buffet (apples, bananas etc) A shelf in the shower room for personal toiletries would be useful.

Good location, easy parking, relaxed reception, old stone building, great tartan carpet! Tiled hallway with pretty stained-glass panels. Nice old-fashioned dining-room and plenty of choice at breakfast. Very good value if you’re not bothered about fancy furnishings.

Decor somewhat dated (which makes a refreshing change from hotels that have been overly tarted up and all look the same inside). Curtains on those big windows could do with black-out backing. Creaky staircase!

Richmond Arms Hotel is a very nice, warm, clean and cozy place with great atmosphere. We felt really welcome and comfortable; care, attention and kindness of the personnel made our stay so special. The room had everything we needed and what was listed in the description. For breakfast we could choose what we liked among many options, and people in hotel listened to all our needs which happened to me for the first time. The food was great, so we had in the hotel not only breakfasts, but dinners as well. We loved excellent selection of drinks and the restaurant with real fire. Also, the location is worth to be mentioned. Mountains and pine forests are all around the place, so spectacular views are guaranteed any time of the year. We were lucky to have some snow! And the Lecht ski resort is only 6 miles away. We definitely recomend the Richmond Arms hotel for short and lond stays in any season.

Very friendly and helpful staff, relaxed, great location, large room, reasonable prices. Clean, everything you needed in the room, friendly bar, evening meals, easy parking, very quiet at night.

A little tired looking, but clean so that's fine. No gluten free bread all 3 breakfasts I had there. But there were GF options within some meals. Water pressure in shower was very poor but we were at the very top of the building.

Loved this little town. The people were awesome and the location was perfect.

The beds and pillows were very uncomfo6. They need new mattresses and soft pillows. The pillows were hard. They advertised air conditioning, but there was none. When we asked for a fan, they didn't have one. However, the owner ordered one and got it in the next day. It really helped. We were grateful for thst.
