We stayed in the upstairs self-catering apartment. The house is beautiful. The apartment is georgious, with very thoughtful details and everything one could need in kitchen, down to a toast rack. The living/dining/kitchen is much bigger that it looks in photos. The bedrooms are very large. The bathtub is super comfy. Towels are nice and big, even had robes. House is spotlessly clean. Hosts are very gracious. Karen was kind enough to add us to breakfast a few days fir a small fee, even though that isn't part of the self-catering package. Her breakfasts are not to be missed. There is a dishwasher, washer, fridge, freezer and a drying rack for clothes. Radiator heat in every room. Beautiful views from every window. A supply of breakfast items, coffee, tea, etc. I have been trying to plan our next trip so we can stay again. Don't miss Feast Tulchan, we'll worth the cost for food, service and view.

Great location and beautifully maintained property. Room was comfortable and spacious with everything we needed including coffee machine and coffee, milk, biscuits, whisky, bathrobes, slippers etc Karen was a very friendly and attentive host. She is knowledgeable about the area and provided helpful recommendations as well as preparing us delicious breakfasts. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Hosts Karen and Alick were very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the area and Scotland in general. The self catering apartment on the top floor (41 steps in the stairs) had everything we needed and more, and our hosts kindly supplied bread, milk and eggs to get us started. The house has been impeccably restored to its former glory and is welcoming as a home away from home. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a luxury stay in Grantown and I would definitely stay there again.

We didn’t get to experience the breakfast, but it smelled wonderful. One needs to be physically capable of climbing the 41 stairs to top floor if booking the self catering flat.

We had the pleasure of staying at several locations during our holiday in Scotland, most of which were lovely. However, what made this particular stay truly stand out was the fact that we felt like royalty from the moment we arrived. The attention to detail, the warm hospitality, and the overall experience were exceptional. If there were a Michelin star for B&Bs, this place would certainly deserve one. It far exceeded our expectations and made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Mount Barker is a superb base for touring the Cairngorms and Speyside. Karen and Alec are very friendly hosts and were particularly helpful in suggesting local restaurants and tourist attractions to visit. Their home is very comfortable and beautifully presented. We appreciated additional touches such as complimentary dram of whisky left in our room.

The location was ideal,just a short walk to the high street of Grantown-On-Spey,with lots of Interesting places to drive to nearby. The breakfast was really tasty,and the table had everything you would like on it and more. Our hosts Karen and Alex were great,Karen’s attention to her guests is outstanding, our room and large bathroom had everything we needed,and was really beautifully furnished.

There was nothing my wife and I didn’t like about here,I would certainly recommend you give Mount Barker a visit.

The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bathroom itself was fabulous, with a tub and lovely shower. The hosts welcomed us, provided a sitting room downstairs where a terrific and beautiful breakfast was served, and recommendations for food and activities. One of us was not feeling well one day and we had a quiet day in our room which was lovely to cozy up in.

The only thing that interfered in complete happiness was a highly scented jar of incense sticks - once I located it the hosts spirited it away.

Nice big bedroom and bathroom, tastefully decorated. Very tasty breakfast and good hosts who looked after us well & clearly looked after their property. Handy location in walking distance of restaurants and shops & great for exploring the Cairngorms & Speyside distilleries!

Bed slightly soft for our taste and even though it was early May, had to put the heating on in the room as we were very cold! We would always treat a B&B as we would our own home, but the laying down of 'house rules' on arrival wasn't the most friendly introduction ...maybe other guests haven't been as respectful in the past?

Everything is spot on in this beautiful place. Karen is a truly wonderful person and a host and we have only good things to say after our vacation here.

Everything. Welcoming hosts, spacious rooms with lovely furnishings. A beautiful house close to central Grantown, a short drive away from many things to see in the Cairngorms and Speyside. Apartment had all the necessary essentials plus quite a few extra features which made it a pleasure to stay there.

Nothing negative to say. Couldn't comment on breakfast as we were in the apartment - although I'm sure it would have been great!
