This is the second time our motorcycle group, OYB, has stayed at this hotel. I especially liked the fire burning in the bar; it was a lovely touch on a cold October evening. Mark is a fantastic host and went over and above to accommodate our needs. Although central, the hotel is relatively secluded, tranquil, and peaceful. All of the group mentioned how great a sleep they had and how quiet the place was. The breakfast was more than adequate, too. We look forward to visiting again.

That I didn't book for two nights! There is nothing not to like.

Delightful small family run hotel, a welcome change from some of the big coach-party type hotels in the area. Breakfast and dinner was served in a spacious, tall ceilinged, bright and airy restaurant. The owners were always on hand and all meals were exciting & of the highest standard. We ate dinner for three nights & we would have been very happy to have eaten in for the full four nights had we not booked elsewhere prior to arrival. Extensive wine list in the restaurant and a separate bar & lounge area. There was plenty of car parking spaces and several options to walk (both hilly and flat) without taking the car. Highly recommended.

Perfectly as it is!

The food was excellent. We stayed 3 nights and had something different each night. Everything was very good and the Venison pie is definitely recommend. Breakfast was good as well. Would definitely recommend. The rooms are clean and ours was spacious with a large bathroom with shower and separate bath. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well.

The only thing I would want and find this in about 80% of the places we stay is a chair in front of a mirror next to a plug to style hair and do my makeup. But that's a me thing. Other than that there's nothing I would say that would have further enhanced my stay.

This is our second time staying here, having stayed last December as well. We love the location, being only a few mins walk to woodlands, hills, pubs and restaurants. The hotel is really dog friendly which is great for us. The food is amazing - Chef Lucy is extremely talented, and all the staff are welcoming and friendly without being over the top. Always feel very comfortable here and its a great getaway between Christmas and New Year.

Nothing. Place is great.

The food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent; beautiful quality and presentation. For dinner my husband had the venison pie and I had the Scottish salmon; both were absolutely divine. Beds are very comfortable and the room a good size. Breakfast was set out waiting for us in the morning and, again, was of excellent quality. A beautiful place and we would definitely stay again should we come back this way.

Very nice hotel near the centre of Grantown on Spey Good car parking Very large comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast and dinner with large choice on menu Well stocked bar which opened from 4pm. Small outside area. Friendly staff without being obtrusive. Lovely toiletries-Highland Soap Company

Some of the fixtures will need updating soon such as bedroom door but, not a problem

We were late to arrive due to the recent storm and terrible road conditions. After 6 hours in the car, we were so pleased to find that the kitchen had been kept open for us, and the fire lit in the bar - absolutely perfect after such a trying day. We stayed 3 nights, eating our meals in the restaurant twice. The food was absolutely fantastic. Breakfasts were also great and I liked the breakfast booking system - far less wasteful than cooking lots of food no one will eat. We brought our dog who was made very welcome (dogs allowed in the bar and restaurant), and we just had a great time. We are considering making it a Christmas ritual and staying again next year. All staff very friendly and attentive.

Everything was great. One small thing was it would have been nice to have a room with a bath, but it didn't affect our stay at all.

The owner was a friendly chap. We enjoyed a quiet drink in the bar and the board games were enjoyed by our son (chess was missing some pieces). The location is convenient if your travelling up north. Breakfast was very nice but we would of preferred a buffet.

Quite dusty in the room and dogs in the hotel. I'm allergic to dust and dogs so not ideal. We didn't realise it was a dog friendly hotel when booking. Dogs in the breakfast room barking away, which wasn't great. I had to eat my breakfast quickly and get out of the room before my asthma was triggered.

Hotel facilities and staff excellent. Location just right for the quiet and relaxing few days we wanted. All facilities, shops, cafes, etc within walking distance from hotel and very good walks in Grantown Woods right down to Riber Spey.

Room was clean but layout could have been better - tv was on wall at side of bed and only one armchair in room for 2 people.

We had a lovely stay and Mark and Lucy were fab! Especially Mark - who looks like he never stops and will go above and beyond to accommodate guests. We loved the interior and vibe of the hotel as well as the food. Highly recommend the venison pie it was so good! We will be back again.

The only thing that we didn’t like was it was a little cold during the night - the wind was battering the building outside and the heating had gone off. It did come on about 7ish and warmed up then. But other than that we had a great stay.
