The hotel was perfectly clean, lovely staff and owners. The food was really outstanding, we had the chateaubriand for dinner and it was top class, breakfast was great too. Fantastic location, with beautiful walks right on the doorstep. The owners were very accommodating for our wee boy (I booked the wrong room type but they managed to squeeze in an extra bed). Also dog friendly which was a bonus. Free parking also. Perfect.
Nothing, it’s a country hotel with character and nice staff, we loved it!

The room was very warm and comfortable. In particular, the mattress was very comfy and the linens were high quality - I slept incredibly well! The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Although the hotel is on a 'main' road, there was virtually no traffic overnight and it was a peaceful place to stay - despite the fact that there was a wedding party occupying many of the other rooms, my sleep was undisturbed. Food in the restaurant was excellent.
I understand why breakfast needs to be ordered the night before - avoids waste and allows food to be cooked freshly at the appropriate time - however, it's not always possible to predict how much or what you might want to eat the next morning, especially if ordering before visiting the excellent restaurant for an evening meal! Otherwise I had no complaints and would definitely stay here again.

The food was amazing. We had dinner there 2 nights and breakfast 2 mornings - the dinner was particularly delicious! They were very welcoming of us with our 2 dogs. The location was ideal for exploring the Cairngorms and we also enjoyed a walk from the hotel to the Kinrara Gin Distillery to do the gin tasting experience (also welcomes dogs!)
The room was a little small for us with our two dogs, but would be a comfortable size for 2 people if you didn't have dogs.

The hotel is a old 'modernised' Inn in the Victorian times and that twee charm has been retained. The room although a single had everything in it that I needed. Lovely ensuite bathroom looks very new. The breakfast was really good, quality ingredients cooked very well (steady on, on the bacon though :)) It's a lovely, quiet setting overlooking the loch Albie? Very friendly, attentive staff. The owner was very accommodating very late booking/check in so I was grateful for that. I hope to return on my visits to Aviemore!
The only thing I'd be tempted to look at is the bedroom windows blind - a bit fiddly. Venetian possible better. TV was a bit too SMART for me, but I wasn't staying to binge watch!

The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had cancelled and delayed flights at the start of our trip. The Rowan Tree gentleman I spoke to on the phone and text was so helpful and understanding throughout the whole ordeal. This place felt like our home away from home. If we return to Scotland one day I will definitely be staying at the Rowan Tree hotel.❤️

Dinner was in the adjoining restaurant and we had a very good meal there. Breakfast was all table service,I can not remember the last time we had a fully served meal. It was a nice change. Staff very pleasant.
We had avery nice room, but it was up two flights of stairs with no lift. Our luggage was carried up for us, so no real problem.

Small Country Hotel, great staff with very friendly relaxed attitude. Food was excellent. Pleasant strolling in fields behind with your pets as dogs and cats welcome. Only a couple of miles from Aviemore where there are plenty of activities. Not to mention skiing! Altogether a very pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone
The weather was a little disappointing but it was February!

This was a three-star hotel that really exceeded my expectations. My room was beautifully decorated and equipped, with lovely comfortable bed and good tea and coffee (and biscuit!) facilities. Nice bar and lounge. But what really got me was the quality of the food. Pricey by local standards but really delicious. And friendly helpful staff. It’s unlikely I’ll be back this way but if I am I shall stay again!
My room was cold. It’s OK in some places to turn off the heating completely when summer arrives but it’s unrealistic when the hotel is in the Scottish Highlands at an altitude of 225 m (750 ft). Fortunately I had a nice ward duvet.

Great location, the room was clean, the break was a bit confusing at the time for ordering but one of the ladies from staff excepted and we understand how we need to proceed. The breakfast was very nice and tasty. The coffee was not what I aspected, was a big pot and was not very strong. The bed was not very comfortable, and to small for 2 persons Overall we have a great stay, nice area for walking with dog, nice lake nearby, nice view.

We loved the location as it was nice and quiet for us. Our room was really nice and comfortable, the staff were all very friendly and, the two nights we ate dinner there, the food was amazing!
There was nothing we didn’t like about our stay here.
