The vacation exceeded my expectations. This was undoubtedly influenced by the weather and the snow that lay there all the time. I want to note the cool location of the lodge among the pine trees, as if separated from the entire resort area. There is something to do both on the territory (swimming pool with small slides, sauna, ice rink). Delicious breakfast for every taste (Scotish breakfast is one of the things I fell in love with while living here for 2.5 years) There is a supply of firewood for the fireplace. If you need more, they bring it to the house.

There are a few things that need to be repaired, like the lock on the front door and the underfloor heating in one of your rooms.

The cabins are spacious, set off to the side of the hotel complex between Aviemore and the A9. It could be noisy with the door open but when closed you wouldn't know the road or anything else was outside. In the cabin the electric heating was good with fuel for the open fire (but no firelighters - available at Tescos). The beds were comfy. The kitchen was tiny, with a toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge freezer, an electric hob and a combination grill/microwave so it was possible to self cater but we did have to think about it a bit. There's an M&S food at the BP garage opposite, which was handy for microwavable meals when we didn't want to eat out. Some bin bags and dishwasher tabs were provided but we went and got Fairy. I regretted not taking salt and pepper and a decent knife. The pool was very quiet most days (open 8-8) which was great. It's a beach entry on one side and a lap pool on the other, so something for kids and swimmers. There were lessons at times but we didnt feel crowded. There was a spa pool, sauna and steam room but no under 16s allowed in (fair enough). There was a big soft play frame for kids up to age 12, along with an activity area with colouring etc. The outdoor playground was floodlit so kids could play past 3pm in the winter. The breakfast was fine. It wasn't spectacular but it was hot and the staff were on the ball. Dogs seemed to be allowed into the nearby closed bar area at breakfast time based on seeing a family in there eating with their pooch. WiFi was available around the complex and was strong enough for a Teams meeting when work intruded. There was a shopping area with a selection of clothes, homewares and food. There was also a gym, cinema and an ice rink but we didn't use those. Wheelchair access is generally good although hidden away. Our only negative comments was the general tiredness of the cabin.

Very convenient location just off the A9, in the middle of town. Pool was good and steam room and sauna were excellent. Coffee shop staff near the auditorium were excellent. Shop staff were friendly. Aspects Restaurant waiter was attentive and the food was excellent. Just let down by the atmosphere and the restaurant managers miserable face.

Rooms were tired and bed cover torn and worn out. We had requested a cot in advance which wasn't left. When I called to ask for it the phone rang for ages and then was cut off. Finally got a cot delivered which was dirty. This was not a good start, but thankfully it didn't get any worse.

Perfect location of lodges in a beautiful area. Walking distance on town centre, shops, pubs and restaurants. Good facilities on site with park , dog walks and play park. Lodge was so cosy and staff were super helpful and never bothered us in the lodge

We could tell pets had been there with slight damage and markings to skirting and furniture etc, but this actually made us at ease. The macdonals hotel site can be confusing with multiple hotels and check in points. Our stay was out of peak time so swimming times and cinema times were different and could only be found when visiting the areas. That really is all we could mention around better if’s.

Just home from a fantastic couple of nights here and we absolutely loved the lodges. They were spotlessly clean and lovely and warm for our arrival, we even got our keys early as the lodges were ready. The resort is lovely too and really close to local shops, restaurants etc. Breakfast was included in our booking and there was plenty of choice and quality ingredients. All staff we came into contact with were very helpful and friendly too, we wished we had booked for longer, will definitely be back.

Tiny negative but didn’t impact our stay, there is no oven if you wanted to heat a pizza or similar.

we were in a lodge and breakfast was included we had it in the main hotel so much to choose from also we had dinner in Giovanni which again was delicious but need to remember to book it next time the lodge it's self was lovely clean and plenty of space for the grandkids I prefer that than a family room in hotel great facilities for the kids and plenty to see and out and about we did landmark and the Strathspey steam train this time which was fantastic.

The large lodge houses with 3 bedrooms is perfect for a family group on a short holiday. These are situated in a quiet area of the complex, in a forested area, with easy access to the other facilities.

We happened to receive the same unit we stayed in previously. Some wear and tear was obvious from our last visit, plus little things, such as dull knives in the kitchen, a coffee capsule machine with now capsules, made the visit a bit more difficult than the last one.

Good inclusive breakfast. Restaurants in resort were all good. Swimming pool has wave machine which was a bonus. Very spacious accommodation in Woodland Lodge. Lovely walk in nature reserve 5 minutes from lodge.

Buildings in resort look a bit dated and could do with a lick of fresh paint. The second toilet in the lodge would not flush and the heated towel rails did not work. There was also some minor damage to walls in the lodge that had been left unfixed.

The location and facilities are excellent for families. We enjoyed walking around the area, going to the park and using the swimming pool and soft play with the kids. Electric car charging available and local amenities. We were impressed with the size of the lodges. Comfort and location and the Elmis products available.

Would be beneficial for information to check in to be sent via email prior to arrival as it was confusing to find out which building to check in at for lodge stays.

We had a lovely stay in 2 woodland lodges. They were cosy and very clean and spacious. Perfect for a family break away. Only thing was the play park needed upgrading but it didn’t stop the kids enjoying themselves and the check in was late and there was no apology for the inconvenience - as we had booked 2 lodges it wasn’t a big deal but staff at reception could have been more helpful.
