An amazing Hotel in the heart of the old town of Matera. The rooms are distributed in various renovated buildings in the historical center and follow the architecture of the town. Well equipped spacious rooms. Friendly staff

The Hotel (but also Matera in general) is a no go for people with walking disabilities due to the nature of the town (a lot of quite steep stairs etc). The staff speaks quite limited English. The breakfast was a bit basic. The natural light in the rooms is a bit limited due to the nature of the architecture of the area (partly underground buildings).

The location of this hotel was smack in Matera Sassi, a fantastic city that I would highly recommend. The only drawback is there was a lot of climbing up/down cobblestone stairs. The way to get from the reception area to our room was a block away, then down 60 stairs. That said, I would do it all over again and enjoy it as equally as we did on this trip. Across the street from our room were unending options for eating. Morning, noon, and night. A+ to the gracious staff as well.

The room was very large by European standards and was perfectly cleaned daily. The staff was friendly, and the location was great. There are plenty of shops to visit, and the very best views of Matera are just steps from our room. Matera is an exceptional city that you should not miss while visiting Puglia.

Perfect location in the heart of Matera (although be aware there are lots of steps - typical of matera). Room was simple but cool and clean, so lovely to experience sleeping in a typical Matera cave. Simple continental breakfast - no good if you have dietary restrictions but otherwise fuel for the day

No major complaints. Would love more hotels to cater to dietary requirements at breakfast such as vegan, dairy free, gluten free etc.

It was quiet, clean and centrally located. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was simple but more than adequate.

The safe and the stopper in the shower in my room weren't working, but it didn't really affect me one way or the other. The staff didn't speak any English at all - not their fault, but you will have a hard time asking questions if you need any real assistance.

Amazing experience sleeping in a cave! The bathroom was big and the lighting was good. Breakfast was ok, they serve sweet and savory food, fresh juice and fruit. The coffee was good.

Matter of taste, but for us, the mattress was a bit soft and the pillows too thin.

The hotel is in a beautiful location. Reception is very easy to find. Our apartment was beautiful, very clean, air condition is working perfectly and the bathroom was big, with enough towels and shampoos. Breakfast is great.

Really lovely hotel, the room was beautiful, with great bed and shower. I really loved the aesthetic and the little details such as a modern take on renaissance art, the decor and overall vibe were great. The breakfast in the morning was also very good, overall, really happy with my stay here and Matera is lovely, I'd definitely come back.

Lots of steps to go up / down with 2 suitcases, but hey i farmer carried them and got a little work out in.

A beautiful property in the heart of Matera. We were delighted that we booked 2 nights. We upgraded to a Junior suite and had stunning balcony views. The room was big, bright, beautiful and very clean. We had a lovely breakfast each morning with plenty of choice.

Superb accommodation. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Extremely clean. Beautiful shower and bathroom. The bed is very comfortable.

Would not recommend for people with mobility difficulties. But then it applies to the whole of the city

Very interesting experience. The room is super cosy, somehow. I guess it's because of the colour and lack of sharp corners. The stuff is very sweet and kind. Highly recommend!
