The Coombe house guest house is very conveniently located to the Village center and is approx a 5 minute walk. There was ample parking and a lovely well maintained garden at the front. We requested 2 single beds and the room was an ample size and contained its own bathroom and there was plenty of space to store our clothes and plenty of draw space as well. The room was supplied with a kettle and tea & coffee and biscuits. There was also fresh milk stored in the fridge which was replaced daily. We had a lovely warm welcome from the owner and host David ,and he carried our bags to our room. He explained that we complete a pre printed sheet the nights before for our breakfast requirements the next morning and then leave the completed form in the reception area for him to collect later. The choice and quality and quantity of the breakfasts was excellent and set us up for the day. David was a charming host and had plenty of time to chat to all of his guests answering question and suggesting places to visit. We did not know what to expect when we booked this guest house on Booking .com but it was truly excellent in all ways , I will definitely stay there again the next time we visit the area and cannot recommend this guest house highly enough for others looking for a stay in this area . Well done David , you really made us feel at home ........ we will be back one day .
Staying there for an extra few days !

We have stayed in numerous accommodations in Bourton on the Water as travel up each year to visit family. This is definitely a new favourite of ours. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by David, we were given drinks & cake on arrival whilst he chatted to us about himself & the property in a very friendly way. The rooms were very clean, good comfy beds & pillows. Well equipped room with enough hangers in the wardrobe, hairdryer, mirrors, tea & coffee & good biscuits plus a fridge. Good quality towels & toiletries in the bathroom & a decent shower. Breakfast was of a high standard with a good variety of choice including a lovely fresh fruit salad, yogurts, full English, salmon ect... lovely atmosphere at breakfast with everyone sharing their plans for the day. A shout out to the Northampton ladies who were very friendly & a pleasure to chat to.🥰 There is outside seating in the garden & a balcony/patio with seating . The village is a short walk along the road, no more than 10 minute stroll.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike, would definitely return here & recommend.

Staying at Coombe House was an absolutely magical experience. The house itself was beautiful and well-appointed. It was in walking distance to the main downtown area with restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and the dining room had a view of an enchanting garden right outside the windows. At night it was serene and quiet. David himself was a fantastic and engaging host, and provided assistance and information as needed.
The only negative thing about the experience wasn't about Coombe House at all, rather just the transportation situation in the Cotswolds. If you're not renting a car, make sure to book all your taxis in advance. Coombe House itself was in walking distance to a grocery store and restaurants, but getting into and out of the Cotswolds was a bit troublesome and expensive, between trains, buses and taxis

The room was as expected and nicely furnished. David the owner was welcoming from an initial text following our booking to greeting us on the day of arrival. It was especially good that there was plenty of parking, we arrived in two cars due to travelling from different locations and this was accommodated. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. I had a full English breakfast and it was well presented and delicious. I would recommend Coombe House and would choose to stay there again myself.

This was the perfect place! David, the host, was simply awesome. As was the room, food, atmosphere and grounds. We have never had a more enjoyable stay anywhere. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. Everything you could want or need is there. The breakfasts are amazing, so many options and the most well laid out presentation for a breakfast I think I have ever seen. You simply must stay here when visiting the Cotswolds, if you don't I feel sorry for you It is centrally located within the AONB and you have easy access to all areas of the Cotswolds. As we told David, we WILL be back!
That we had to leave....

Dave the host was fantastic on our first day in England. When we arrived after a long day travelling, he could not have been more welcoming with a cup of tea, cake and a joke. The hot cooked breakfast is served to you by Dave and was fantastic. Coombe House is immaculately clean and welcoming. It has free parking and is only a short walk into town. If you are going to Burton-on-the-Water don't miss staying here to be treated like members of the family. Dave has lots of knowledge on the area and where to dine and sights to see.
Because we live in Australia it's to far to go back to coombe house.

The location is excellent and the host is very hospitable. Breakfast is fantastic. The room is spacious and bed comfortable. TV functioned well. What a brilliant spot to also see other villages in the Cotswalds.
I am not used to the British showers in general when the water flow is so minimal. I'm used to my 5-minute showers back home but here in England it takes 15 minutes for the difficulty of rinsing off the conditioner from my long hair.

Really appreciated that the owner David kindly helped with carrying our luggages up and down the flight of stairs. David was personable and responsive. While guests were not permitted to bring hot food into the room, there was a second floor patio where you could eat your takeaways, weather permitting. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The garden and premises were charming and there were adequate car park spaces. Enjoyed the 10-minute walk into the town centre.

We had a delightful three-night stay at this charming and tranquil retreat. The well-maintained garden added to the serene atmosphere, and the house itself was both inviting and impeccably kept. Conveniently located within walking distance of the town, the property offered all the essential amenities. The breakfast provided a variety of tasty options, and the availability of parking and WiFi in all rooms was appreciated. David, the host, was attentive and caring, taking the time to discuss our plans and inquire about our experience. One minor suggestion would be to clarify the policy regarding hot food in rooms, as it wasn't explicitly mentioned. Additionally, having a common fridge stocked with refreshments or snacks for purchase would be a thoughtful touch for guests. Overall, a wonderful stay with only minor room for improvement.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by host David, who made us feel instantly welcome. We enjoyed a friendly chat over a cup of tea and cake. The accommodation was very well appointed, and every effort was made to cater to our needs. The breakfasts were very well catered for, along with light-hearted conversation and good quality background music. The gardens were beautifully presented and cared for, through a large scenic window. The accommodation was a comfortable walk to the local Cotswolds town centre for restaurants and gift shops, and for a stroll along the canals watching Ducks sailing along the water. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wishing to enjoy an idyllic getaway !
