Its a proper castle, what more can I say, with towers and turrets and winding staircases as well as resident ghosts! Staff were very friendly, breakfast was delish, views to die for from the ramparts! An honesty system with the bar was in place with a good selection of wine, a comfortable lounge with nooks for couples to hide in, and a very comfortable bed in the perfectly formed though small rooms. A unique, boutique hotel experience is best how I would describe it! A fantastic and memorable place to stay though! No gimmicky styling thank goodness. Tastefully done overall! It wasn't bad value for money either I thought in lieu of the nature of the accommodation! How often do you get the chance to stay overnight in a proper castle?! If you are in this neck of the woods, I would definitely recommend a night here! But bring your ear plugs for the things that go bump in the night!

The room had an odd smell (apparently the septic system had just been cleaned out) and it was a little too 'corporate' in its vibe/feel for me ideally ...BUT that might be a postive for most! I just felt it needed a few softer edges in the bedrooms style wise ...but that's just me nit picking because overall we really enjoyed our stay here!

The castle has been restored to a very high standard. The breakfast was excellent. There was a good selection of food from fresh fruit and cereals to a fully cooked Welsh breakfast. The room was very comfortable. We loved the fact that we could use the communal areas, particularly the roof top terrace where we had stunning sunset views across the local area and out to sea. The location was great for the places we wanted to visit. Even though the hotel doesn't have restaurant facilities we visited their sister hotel in St Davids where we enjoyed fantastic fine dining. We also enjoyed a great meal at the Victoria Inn Brewhouse, the local pub which is a short walk from the castle.

We imagine the bedrooms could get very warm in the summer months. Even though it was spring we still needed to open a window at night to let some circulation through. We noticed they do provide a fan however we didn't need to use it on this occasion. If you have mobility issues then this isn't the place for you as there are a number of steps to navigate.

Stay at Roch castle was one of the most memorable stays of our extensive world travels. The way the property was renovated is just exquisite. The combination of old and contemporary, the hand picked artwork from local artist celebrating the history of the region and the place, the luxury amenities, delicious breakfast and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Please make sure you have time during your stay to sit down in one of the multiple public spaces of the hotel, drink some tea or wine and read some books from the library on site. I hope we can return one day, wonder more trough the coastline and relax reading in such an unique space.

We stayed here on St David’s Day for a birthday treat. A lovely touch was the card and gift in our room on arrival. (Thank you ) Roch Castle is a stunning property perched on top of a giant rock! The approach to the castle through electric gates sets the scene for arrival. The castle has been tastefully renovated to the highest standard internally. I loved the exposed rock inside the foyer area. The temperature inside the castle was very comfortable, as were the bed and the en-suite bathroom. It has all the benefits of a modern property encased in a historic castle. The outlook from the lounge room was amazing. We stayed in March and had exceptional weather, so the view across the Pembrokeshire coast as the sun set was just gorgeous. This was a lovely room with a veranda to give views across the bay as well as the countryside beyond. The staff were all very attentive , particularly the breakfast team. The breakfast was absolutely delcious. Something to suit everyone; pastries to start, cereal, fruit salad, full Welsh breakfast including black pudding, juices, tea,coffee….. a great way to set us up for our coastal walk. From the Castle we visited St David’s, Solva and Whitesands. A great base to head out from. An extensive selection of pubs and eateries whichever fire til. You head, but most of them a drive away with the exception of the Victoria Inn which was a 10 minutes walk away. Overall a 10/10 stay, such a shame it was only for one night! What a wonderful place! Our stay was perfect from start to finish. Our room was just beautiful. The whole castle is tastefully decorated to a high standard. The art work around the castle is an absolute delight to see. The lounge area is brilliant, well stocked with an excellent range of wines and spirits to purchase. There are board games, books galore. Such a pleasant area to sit and the views are just stunning. The staff are amazing, so helpful and really make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend Roch castle to family and friends ,we will definitely be back. Thank you for such a super stay!!

Staying in a castle was a different experience to staying in other hotels and a quiet times, felt like we had the whole castle to ourselves, fabulous views from our room (De Rupe) was a bonus, super friendly Maria welcomed us & the staff at breakfast were all fabulous, nothis is too much trouble.

Some other guests mentioned they had been offered a 2x night, third night free offer which we were not made aware of, but appreciate that possibly may have been through a third party operator.

Everything was perfect, except perhaps for the number of stairs to the Lucy Walters room but we expected that! The castle has been cleverly adapted into a hotel, our room on the top floor set into the battlements with its main light coming from the sky above. The common rooms we mainly had to ourselves making us feel like the king and Queen of our own castle. Views to the coast from the conservatory

No evening meal but plenty of local options to eat.

Our room was cozy but comfortable our bed was so delicious! The bathroom was huge with a massive bathtub and separate big shower with large fluffy towels bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast was excellent. The quality of the food and the service was very friendly. We felt well taken care of. The location of the castle was central to where we wanted to be. We loved everything about the Castle and it will be a highlight of our trip.

Our only complaint was that we didn’t stay long enough. We hated to leave.

Such a stunning hotel to stay in both inside and out beautifully decorated and has a fantastic view from all angles Wished the hotel would do an evening dining their breakfast was fantastic even with limited options cooked wise we would have been happy to dine there in the evening too. We went for our honey moon and was treated to a lovely tour of the whole property and our room was beautifully decorated to our surprise can’t wait to come back next year for our honeymoon

Not a lot within the area to do but most things were within half hour drive to an hour depending on the activity so wasn’t a massive problem.

What a truly fantastic place to stay! It’s been developed to an incredibly high standard whilst maintaining all the character of the building. It was such a novelty to have the run of the whole place when the staff had gone home, there were so many nooks and cranny’s to explore. We have nothing but positive things to stay - it’s clean and so comfortable and all the staff we encountered were polite, cheerful and a delight to talk to!
