High level of service. Luxury quality of rooms and large breakfast. Cozy swimming pool on the roof where you can meet the sunset. Large room with enough space for clothes and suitcases, good view from the window.

We loved this hotel in Colombo! After a bad experience in another hotel the night before we were feeling a bit deflated. We wandered to this hotel for breakfast. We ended up telling the General manager, Anuyisha about our horrible experience at the other hotel which we were due to spend another night in. She was so sympathetic and offered us a tour of one of their rooms. As soon as we seen it, we booked it! The rooms are huge and very well designed. Luxurious finishes and feels very serene in a busy city! The team at the hotel where beyond helpful. Treated us like VIPs! We had breakfast and dinner again after that morning, and every time, the food was of such a high standard. Fresh, vibrant. Just what we needed! Can't recommend enough. The value for money is fantastic. Lovely rooftop pool. Great wifi. Staff are so helpful and pleasant to speak to.

New establishment - room was huge and very comfortable Location - Easy to get to , next street to Barefoot - the well known Colombo eatery and store Staff - extremely friendly and welcoming Food - The hoppers were excellent - claimed by the chef to be the best in Colombo !

The bathroom facilities in the bedroom were bizarre to say the least. The wash basin was contained within the room and the shower and toilet were essentially two frosted glass partitions within the room. The "frosted glass" however was see through and as a result there was zero privacy in the shower or toilet. The shower and the toilet cubicle were also very small with toilet door actually hitting the toilet when opened ! According to the manager, the builders did not follow the measurements during construction and by the time they realised the error , it was too late !!

the rooms are super big and comfortable (the shower soaps smell like heaven), huge windows and a couch to watch the city, rooftop pool and nice views, in general super stylish and fitting interior and welcoming and friendly staff, the food we had was good too

it was a bit noisy as the windows are not that isolated and the area in front of doors is open air so the busy street is rather noisy (i think that is an issue one has across all Colombo though) the driver they arranged us for airport transfer was a bit weird and not very friendly plus he was speeding

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Taprobane House! It is a lovely boutique hotel tucked away on a small lane but still close enough to go on foot or short taxi ride to many attractions. The staff were all wonderful. Deeptha was particularly helpful in setting up my stay beforehand and communication was excellent throughout my stay. Everyone was kind and helpful. The room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. I didn’t use the pool but enjoyed the rooftop views of the city. Barefoot Cafe is only 1/2 bock away and has live jazz music every Sunday. Many thanks to all of the staff!

The rooms were spacious and cozy. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Don't miss dining at the in-house restaurant—the food is fantastic, and the chef is a delightful person to chat with. If we had more time in Colombo, we would have eaten there more often; the fish curry and coconut milk dal were absolutely exceptional. The location is unbeatable—right by the coast, with everything you might need as you arrive in a new country just a short walk away. It’s also conveniently close to all the popular tourist spots, making it the perfect base for exploring the area.

Every thing was great

Taprobane was the most amazing hotel we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They were so smiley and welcoming and also looked after us so well! The hotel is new and extremely clean. The rooms are huge. The bed is lovely. The whole place is genuinely well made and maintained. Absolute gem of a hotel. We ordered room service the last night of our stay and the butter prawns were tremendous. We were pleasantly surprised to see the food being so on point too! If you are staying in Colombo this hotel is THE place to get some rest from the city bustle. Well done to everyone working there and special thanks to Deeptha for his support and efforts!

A brand new modern hotel with a rooftop pool overlooking the sea. Everything was wonderful! Details: -comfortable bed, - large beautiful room, - excellent shower. The hotel has an excellent team. Ryan, who works at the front desk, is a very nice young man! Ryan, thank you very much! Your advice and recommendations have helped a lot, and communicating with you has left the most pleasant memories. The restaurant also employs cool guys. I watched them make tea. Such diligence and diligence is just amazing. We had breakfast and lunch at the hotel, everything was very tasty, I recommend it. Thanks to the Dinusha chef and all the guys in the kitchen and bar. Nilusha, thank you too! I am sure that with such employees, the hotel will thrive and succeed. And I really hope that I will return to Sri Lanka, to Colombo and stay in this wonderful hotel again.

The room was very beautifully designed and very comfortable. Actually the architecture of the whole hotel was beautifully crafted. There was a smart TV available, not very common for Sri Lankan hotels. The room and bathrooms were very clean. The front office manager Deeptha and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in the heart of Colombo is very easily accessible and there are lots of eateries and shopping around the area.

My only gripe is that the room service menu is limited and is only open till about 7pm, but I guess that's normal for a boutique hotel.
