Love this hotel and the location. I was traveling with my sister and niece, and it's perfect for families who want the extra ability to cook breakfast, eat in, and bring back takeout after busy days of traveling. The hotel location is in the middle of a ton of restaurants of all types, cute shopping locations, and historic sites are walking distance (Note Palace is closed on Tuesday!!). We were able to walk from here to the "hop on hop off" bus ( the easiest place to pick it up is outside the palace gates). Also close to Subway and Trains station for KTX to Busan. There is a Korean BBQ restaurant attached to the hotel on one side and a coffee house on the other back door entrance. The hotel staff are friendly, super helpful, information, speak perfect English and can give you great advice. We got advice on our trips, luggage, and trip to Busan. Rooms are very spacious. All have individual AC, and beds are comfy. We did ask for extra pillows as used to thicker pillows at home. Was no problem. Rooms, towels, sheets are immaculately clean, well serviced rooms with housekeeping changing towels, emptying trash, vacuuming, etc. during our stat. There is a DND button on the door, so if you need a lie in, I recommend you use that. Housekeeping respects it. There are slippers in the cabinet inside the door as well, which is handy. We used the laundry machine with no issues. It is very handy as like to travel light but be able to do laundry, and you can either use the dryer cycle or use the handy hanging rack in the utility area! For convenience, there is a 7/11 across the street, 30 seconds away, so you can get milk, bread, coffee, water, tea, oatmeal, juices, etc. on arrival. The fruit store is up the street 2 mins away and has great fruit supplies, so there are no shortages for breakfast at the hotel if you've slow-moving teenagers!!

Not a major issue as we got extra pillows, but like most foreigners from the EU/USA, the pillows are too thin. It would be great if the hotel put a few spares in the rooms, even if sealed in bags so only used by tjose need them. Most westerners are used to thicker pillows, so having spares readily accessible would help stop comments on the pillow issues as that seems to be the only irk for anyone!!🤭🥰

This is our second time staying at this hotel within a year for a family holiday, and we continue to appreciate its great location. Situated near Anguk (#3 Line) and Jongno 3(sam)-ga (#5 Line) metro stations, it offers easy access to key areas while being in a quieter part of Insadong. The room size is ample for a comfortable stay, and the surrounding area remains pleasantly uncrowded, making it an ideal spot for a more relaxed holiday. Overall, we still had a good stay, but a few improvements would make it even better.

It is starting to show signs of aging and could benefit from some renovations. The amenities are also quite limited, they provided shampoo but no conditioner, and while there was dish washing detergent, there were no hand soap in bathrooms. The bed and pillows could use an upgrade for better comfort.

Located right off the bustling main street in Insadong, the property is clean, well maintained and has all the amenities needed for a family. Kitchen comes with all necessary cooking utensils, toaster, kettle, oven, dishwasher. Double sink toilets with bathtub and shower. Laundry room with a washer/dryer machine and rack for hanging clothes (but not that there is no laundry detergent; you can cross the road and grab a pack from the 7/11 there). Staff are helpful with needs and requests for extra towels etc. Note that there is no housekeeping on weekends, but staff help with new towels and taking out the trash (if needed).

We booked a 2-bedroom apartment thinking that each room would have a queen sized bed. It was a queen in one and a single in the other. It would help if the booking info was clear from the start!

The location is really the key for Orakai. Right in the heart of Insadong, one of the best and most central areas to be if you want a downtown Seoul experience. Walking distance to many of the key tourist sites and areas. Central to many public transport stations. So many food, cafe, shopping, and bar options. The hotel itself is a great value. Good sizes rooms, clean, nice ameneties like gym and pool. Beds are firm are comfortable. The hotel is modern and so isn't cozy feeling like higher end hotels. But we thought it was great.

Our room had some wear and tear to it. Modern hotels tend to show use quicker because of the design. But nothing that was a problem and everything worked well.

It was right next to the main street in Insadong and incredibly spacious. The entrance to the hotel is modern and staff were pretty friendly and spoke reasonable English. The 7-Eleven being just across the road was really handy for getting small items as needed.

The rooms are in need of some attention and repairs - for example, there was wallpaper ripped off the walls in several areas. Amenities were not provided for the second bathroom. Pillows were super flat and therefore not very comfortable. Some of the bed linens were reasonably stained, which was a bit offputting.

We stayed in Suite 1708 for 6 nights end of Oct. 22. Visiting our son who spends a period in Seoul at the university. The view there from 1708 on the 17th floor goes east across this part of the city and towards the park and ‚Hidden Garden‘ as a historic monument. We always went out to eat as there are lots of restaurants around. Nevertheless the quarter was really quiet at night and in the morning we just heard a faint and distant buzz. The bed was very comfortable and a real kingsize. Bathroom spotlessly clean. Separate (with good door to bedroom) living room with adjoining kitchen including stove, washing machine (!), dishwasher, water heater etc. About 50 square meters of apartment for the price of normally 25 m2 of hotel room. Very fair. TVs in living room and bedroom though we did never switch these on. Very good cleaning service and overall very friendly staff taking care of us. EG reception and even the in-house IT-officer. And: Seoul everywhere seemed extremely safe to us. And this corner of town certainly too. People in Seoul were extremely friendly and helping us along our touristy endeavors. Thank you

Definitely everything perfect

We stayed at Orakai Suite Hotel in Insadong between 25 and 28 January 2025. The hotel is perfectly located amongst the hustle and bustle, of the inner city being also within walking distance to most notable attractions such as the traditional villages, palaces, temples, stunning coffee shops and overall ambience of Insadong, which is stunning. Being from South Africa were snowfall is Rare, we also really were treated to magnificent snowfall in Seoul, twice. The hotel staff was 💯 fantastic, they assisted us three ladies throughout. Especially in the inclement snow conditions, with our luggage and transportation, we are most grateful for such warm hospitality. Best regards Annamika Premsagar, South Africa xoxo

Everything met our expectations thank you.

Exceptionally good. We stayed about 10 days in the hotel and it was the perfect place for short and long period. We had all the ameneties and the space was spacious for 3 people. The kitchen was well equipped and we had a dishwsher and a laundry machine which for the period was needed. The staff came everyday to clean the room expect the weekends but we were informed in advance and if anything was needed the reception was open 24/7. Towels were changed everyday we had shower gel and shampoo at our convineince as well. The hotel has also gym and swimming pool which was available to us. Location was also perfect - walking distance to the big palace was very convinient, shops and cafes as well as restaurants were just around the corner. The public transport including two metro lines were in 4 - 6 mins walk. The bus stops were also 5 mins away. The airport bus 6011 took us very close to the hotel about 5 mins walk. Highly recommend!

The staff were really kind and helpful. The location is very good. Close to restaurants and the heart of the old town. The fitness center was well equipped.

The internet was a bit spotty at times and would slow down at certain times of the day. They provided two of each kitchen item (2 bowls, 2 plates, 2 forks, etc). This meant that we had to hand wash every item after each meal and never used the dishwasher because there were too few dishes to run it. If they provided two settings for each person, it would be nicer and potentially save water. It would have been nicer to have the desk outside the bedroom as shown in the layout online.

We liked this apartment so much we ended up cancelling our other hotel booking to return to this hotel. The apartment the first stay was a 2 bedroom and the second time a 3 bedroom. The living area and kitchen are very spacious and a perfect place to stay with family.

It was strange that the hotel would only book a taxi to the airport at a very high rate (double the normal price) and the same applied when we tried to book at taxi to Seoul Station. It's easier to book an Uber. The kitchen is big and comes with a washing machine but there is nothing provided - no tea or coffee or washing liquid.
