Friendly and very welcoming staff. Comfortable, roomy two bedrooms with a lovely dining area, separate kitchen and two sofas for relaxing in front of the big TV. A great shower in the bathroom completed a wonderful place to stay in Invercargill. Pretty garden outside provided a welcoming view. Despite the windy, wet weather we did enjoy our stay at Colonial on Tay street. Would recommend to others and definitely return for another stay next time in Invercargill. 🌷🌸🐶😍

Everything met our requirements. So no complaints. Friendly obliging staff made it worth the stay. Hope they succeed in getting further updates in units completed that they are hoping to do in the future.

Denise was extremely accommodating. The room was the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. It was warm and tastefully modernised with everything you could need. Outstanding shower pressure. The sign says motel but we received hotel service. Our room was serviced daily and we had fresh clean towels. Southern hospitality at its best. Excellent location with a dairy close by, quiet, clean and warm.

Stayed here for 15days and couldn't have picked a better motel. What stood out the most was the cleanliness, the place was spotless and soft furnishings were pristine. (no ugly bed spread that most motels do not wash) Pros: Kitchen was fully kitted out (minus an oven) with every utensil you would need (cheese grater, Tupperware, pans & pots, wine glasses, mugs + all the usual etc.), comfortable beds with assortment of blankets, cushions and heated blankets, there was also a pedestal fan as well as a heater in the living space. The bedroom had lots of storage for clothes and/or luggage plus an ironing board & iron and its own TV. The laundry facilities have 2 washers and dryers plus an outdoor clothes hanger; detergent is provided. The rooms are large and spacious and everything has been thought of to make your stay have all of comforts of a home. They provide toiletries and tea/coffee. We had no complaints and the owner Denise was super friendly and gave us great tips on exploring Invercargill. We don't like to use house-keeping every day and the staff respected this and we were able to ask for anything we needed anytime. The owners live on the property and clearly take great pride in their business. My partner works remotely and had no issues with the wifi.

We had a great stay here for 5 nights. The motel is well maintained, comfortable and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful (especially Denise!). The location is also very convenient and is right near a 24/7 deli with food, pantry staples and coffee.

Denise was very welcoming. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable so was the bed, a must have when travelling. Had everything we needed for our one night stay and if you needed anything Denise was more than happy to accommodate. Loved our stay. Would highly recommend 😊

An ice tray would be great for the Aussies who love ice in their drinks and most other places we stayed had soap and shampoo not that it mattered as we did have our own . Just those little touches can make a difference

Denise was awesome and so cheerful. She recommended walks and pubs in the area. Room was beautiful with teal accents and a full kitchen. Amazing water pressure too.

Windows opened too far so I had to keep them locked at night and use the air con.

On arrival it was spotless clean, it had a nice scent when walking in. It had kitchen facilities and cutlery and other kitchen items. It had a homely feel to it.

Nothing major just the door handles were a bit stiff where you go to the bathroom but it was fine.

Cleanliness, warm & cosy with a lovely fresh decor. Would definitely stay again . Keep up the good work your on a winner here .

Well presented and appointed, clean, very comfortable, recently renovated with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The owners made us welcome and it is easy to see they take great care and pride in their property. Pity more properties are not of this quality.

We stayed at the Colonial on Tay for 10 days. My husband had emergency hip replacement and he recovered there. The owners were wonderful and gracious. They went out of their way to make us comfortable.
