The property is extremely well presented, clean, luxurious, and just beautiful. The art works hanging everywhere were divine and fun, there were art books in our room related to the work in the hotel, and the tv in our room was on when we arrived, with a documentary on the artwork and artist, such a wonderfully unexpected special touch. As budding artists ourselves we felt so immersed in the environment and so inspired we jumped to and took the opportunity to break out our supplies and get painting too. The showers are sooo good, the rooms are large and spacious, the beds are soooo comfortable, best sleep away from home I’ve had in years. And the staff, both day and night, were incredible lovely and accommodating. I can;t recommend this hotel highly enough and very much look forward to our next stay. Thank you xx

The hotel was conveniently located near the shops and public transportation. Access to the carpark was easy and convenient with bays available near the lifts. I found the room to be spacious, clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable for a good night sleep. I also really like the artwork throughout the hotel, was very pleasant to look at and read about.

Hard to say what I didn't like about the hotel as I can't really think of anything. Perhaps the roof top garden and barbeque area closing at 10pm, which was not so much an inconvenience as it was unfortunate, as it provided a magnificent view of Melbourne and surrounding areas during both day and night times.

Great spot located beside Box Hill Central. Convenient drop off point inside the building. Staff was friendly and helpful, both at the reception and when assisting with an in-room enquiry. The room itself was clean, comfortable and spacious for 2. The restaurants downstairs was a bonus! My visiting parents who stayed there didn't use the facilities, but I can see myself coming here for a staycation with the family.

Small gripes: - There was only one desk chair, so someone had to sit on the bed to eat/drink. - Carpark had a large patch of sticky something on the ground that left residue on our luggage wheels and shoes.

Comfy mattresses and rain fall showers. Kids enjoyed the pool but weather dependent, as it is not heated. Location is convenient to shops and eateries and opposite a tram stop. Boxhill Central is train connected too.

Pillows were not supportive to match the comfort of the mattress, unfortunately. Towels for the pool are not readily available. Young families, be aware that there isn't a microwave either, and the sink basin and soap dispenser can't be easily reached for kids' independence. TV remote also shows Netflix button but it is not free! Instead, Level 24 (the pool level) has a good space for break out activities where we played boardgames. More toys, books, and games should be made available. Or else, another kid friendly space should be opened for entertainment. Generally, the ambience, furniture, and decor seem dated and don't match the calibre of the artist in name as you walk through the dark hallways.

Facility was in front of the tram station. Beds were comfortable. Chen's art was interesting.

Five-star rating was shown next to this facility's name in Booking.com. But it did not look and feel like it. Corridor ceilings were low. The room smelled of moist carpet. The round mirror in the room was dusty. Floor to ceiling glass windows were streaked and smudgy. There was no balcony. There were little dust balls on the floor between the bed and the side table. Restaurants were not open until 11:30am. Parking was off-site. The lobby was small. There's everything needed for a good night's sleep, but there are less pricey options.

Was really happy when I found out regular check out time at The Chen is 11am and when requesting prices for late check out, the staff advised us that we could check out at 12 for no extra charge. Beds are super comfortable, and amenities were very clean at the premises.

The fob/key cards to access the lofts and rooms are a but touch and go, we got 3 and 1 of them wouldn't work with our door, the other 2 were okay. Also we would have liked if the bathrooms provided a toilet scrubber/cleaner brush so that we could clean the toilet after use if necessary, most other hotels have these.

The room was excellent, with a fine and spacious layout. Regarding the parking, it was interesting to see double parking, although it seemed that only the outer spot was accessible, making the inner parking space unused. As for the bed, it was rather soft and did not provide sufficient support for my back, ultimately leading to discomfort.

I found the bed to be very soft, which may not suit everyone's preferences. Additionally, it would be helpful to have basic instructions available in the gym for guests who may be unfamiliar with the equipment. For example, incorporating QR codes or downloadable videos for safe operating procedures (SOP) could be a beneficial addition. Thank you for considering these suggestions.

Everything was so easy, great location, rooms are spacious and clean, staff are very friendly, great big pool, perfect for the kids. this was our 2nd time at the Chen and once again we were pleased with everything. THANK YOU.

We had some rowdy teenage boys that were in the same hallway as us and they kept yelling, screaming and parting, but the staff were great and handled it to make it comfortable for all guests.

Honestly I liked that there weren't any underground car parking because there too difficult to park anyways so parking in the other car park wasn't a big issue but wish it was more secure even though nothing happened..anyone could just walk in and smash ya car up lol

Small things in the rooms broken but not really an issue. Didn't like that the two rooms weren't next to each other but weren't too far away...

Brilliant location, tram stop practically at the front door and train station only a few minutes walk. Quick and easy trip into the city. Lots of great food options and two supermarkets in the shopping centre across the road. Clean, comfortable, modern hotel with an amazing rooftop pool. Really enjoyed our staycation here. Would choose this hotel again.

Parking took a little while as you go to one car park near reception to check in and then need to move your car to another car park to actually park. But at the end of the day, the extra five or ten minutes involved is more than made up for by how great the pool is!
