- We found the town of Laugar to be a very pleasant stop between Mývatn and Akureyri, we were in this area for two days, but stayed in this guest house for only day 1 of 2. - The kitchenette is fully equipped and has most of the things you need to cook. - The rooms are spacious with decent sized bathrooms. - They have a hot tub but we didn't get an opportunity to use that.

- The cooking spatulas and ladles are burnt, probably by someone before us, they should change those. - The heating cannot be controlled within the apartment, opening the windows is an option to cool down, but the midges can fly in. - The room said mountain views, that is partially correct, but those views are only visible from the tiny window on the door or the bathroom. - For our day 2 of 2 we were at the Laugar Guesthouse next door which we felt offered a better value for our money.

We had a very pleasant stay at Guesthouse Hvítafell. The room was nice, with a comfortable bed that made for a good night’s sleep. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals, which was very convenient. Although we didn’t use it, there’s a hot tub available for guests - a lovely option after a day of exploring. The location is excellent, just a short drive to Geosea, which was a must-visit for us and a real highlight of the area. Overall, a welcoming and practical place to stay while visiting this part of Iceland.

The accommodation matched the photos well; simple, yet warm and clean. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the place was very quiet at night, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. It’s about a 30mins drive from the Mývatn area, and there’s a small grocery store just a 10 mins walk away. Overall, a great value stay in a peaceful location.

the cabin looks brand new and probably opened during 2023 – perfectly clean. In my view it’s been built to a high standard. The large window at the back overlooks woodland and the outlook is very pleasant however, overlooking the valley at the front the windows in the bathroom and front door are high up and small and overlook other buildings; I’m disappointed with the view. There is a hot-tub and it’s warm. I’ve just realised that there isn’t a TV in the room – bring your own entertainment! Fair value for money 8/10

A very nice appartment with complete kitchen (toaster, keetle, micowaves, coffee maker) and toilet. Beds are confortable, heating is good and cleanliness is perfect. The owner is very kind and the appartment is close to Godafoss fall and Myvatn lake. Tou can park for free just outside, next to the appartment.

The road 1 in this area is sometimes closed in winter (we visit the area in April and we had to wait 5 or 6 hours until they opend it).

This was such a cute guesthouse! It was fairly roomy with space to get into luggage, a small seating area, kitchenette, and decent sized bathroom. We appreciated the well stocked kitchenette even though we only used it for coffee. There’s also a shared hot tub on the porch, though we didn’t test it out. Lots of outlets and radiator space. Easy check in. Would stay again.

Very well stocked kitchen as shown in photos. We happened to meet and greet the owner who stayed in the house right beside the guesthouse. The toilet was huge and clean. Parking space was also available outside the accommodation. Affordable and not too far away from Akureyri.

There was no curtain for the toilet windows that faced the common area outside might be a concern for privacy. The main issue was that the sunlight shone in too brightly during the long summer hours when we tried to use the toilet which made it difficult for us to fall asleep again. There was also quite a bit of light leakage in the bedroom as well so do pack your eye masks.

Christina is a very friendly host and the guesthouse got everything you need. It is very clean and we felt very well during our 3 nights! Until now the best place during our Island round trip.

If you have bad or lought room neighbours you maybe hear them.

Everything—the location is quiet, the town is close, the amenities are first-class, the beds are comfortable, the shower is wonderful, there's a nice warm hot tub, and the room is spotlessly clean.

There is nothing.

Well laid out. Large room. Travelling with another couple. Able to cook for all 4 of us in one unit. Very quiet. Nice wine glasses and good knives.

Couldn’t check in till 5pm. Not an issue as we had a full day getting there but if the weather was bad and you needed to get in early might be an issue.
