breakfast home cooked and personalised was excellent , no buffet here, we ate in teh restaurant for dinner which was very good , the largest chicken burger i have seen in my life. Owner was hands on and a delight, we couldn't get a taxi on the Friday night and he dropped us to our destination, Irish hospitality at its best

some of the bedrooms are a bit tired but management have a plan for this. Taxis are not readily available which you need to factor in.

This hotel is located in the centre of the town, with easy access to all amenities, with secure parking. There are several places to eat and drink. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean, with all services provided. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and warmly welcomed us and our 2 dogs. Plus they have a secure garden, for dogs. They have a wide selection of gourmet food, at affordable prices and absolutely delicious.

The only issue we had, was that we did not stay long enough!!

Location ideal for where we were going. Easy to find and not far from the airport. Plenty on street parking or option to use the yard however very small and quite tight. Bathroom and bedroom really good size.

Whilst I appreciate the offer to go downstairs to get fresh milk daily, I’d rather have the milk in the room. I like a cup of tea in the morning with milk but having to get dressed before I could get one was a faff I’d rather not have. TV was a silly size given the room.

I had a great stay on 04 Nov 2023 with Ciaran and his team at the Castledawson Inn. Honestly I could not fault my stay, From the moment I walked thorugh the doors to when I lefts the following day, all the staff were so friendly and all greeted and spoke to me by name which was lovely. The food was delicious. I had evening dinner in the restaurant after a few drinks in a cosy bar and a gossip with locals who were very friendly. Dinner portions are generous and the menu was varied. My only trouble was in making the choice what to eat. Breakfast next morning was also delicious, especially that amazing soda bread. I had a great sleep in a comfortable bed, in a quite room and the view to the river was stunning in its autumn surrounding colours. I travelled solo but at no point did I feel I was alone. I can 100% recommend this great little find and I will hope to be back again. Thank You Ciaran and to your Team.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Room was beautiful overlooking the river. Staff were so friendly and welcoming and a very dog-friendly attitude. Food was great - some of the usual dishes available but also some different things to choose from. I'm veggie and my husband has a wheat intolerance which isn't always easy. But we had great options. Really enjoyed finishing the evening with a drink outside on the balcony with our dog and chatting to locals. If somewhere is popular with locals you can't go wrong. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We loved the staff at Castledawson Inn and the comfortable rooms. Everyone was friendly and responded quickly to our needs. Breakfast was very good as well.

Parking on site was very limited, and parking on the street wasn’t much better. That said, I’d still highly recommend the Castledawson Inn.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere with a view of the river from the restaurant and garden at the rear of the Inn. Room was nice and quiet overlooking the river which made for a good nights rest and we had a great meal in the restaurant. Very chilled.

What a hidden gem. We booked The Inn at Castledawson for an over overnight stay before going to the Seamus Heaney Home Place. We loved this hotel. The recently renovated bedroom area was exceptionally comfortable. The staff weee amazing, Kieran and his team did everything conceivable to make us comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast/dining room was stunning - we loved the very high ceiling and chandeliers. We’re already planning to come back. Thank you all at the Inn at Castledawson .

All perfect.

Ciaran and the team were perfect hosts. We were in the area for a family wedding at a nearby venue so the location was excellent. We stayed in the newly refurbished rooms which were tranquil and with great showers we particularly appreciated the morning after. Ciaran stayed up to welcome us when we returned late from the wedding reception and was up to serve us an amazing cooked breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend.

Drainage smell on arrival - but this cleared after running taps and opening window - and didn’t return.
