An old building brought up to modern standards. Very pleasant staff. Breakfast was very good. Bar is small, but we were there in February and in the summer it might be outside and less limited. The story of the place is great- it used to be a boys boarding school closed for a long time and a local guy bought it from the city and brought it up to modern standards. The first night we were there an alumnus (a local) was there with his wife for his anniversaire. He remembered it fondly, though he said the bath water was always cold.....

At a certain point during my shower the water went cold. After a long day on the battlefield, it was a bit disappointing to rinse my hair with cold water in February.

A friendly welcome at this lovely hotel. The breakfast buffet has bacon and eggs as well as fruit, yoghurts and pastries. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of the town, with its lovely cathedral, museums and of course the famous tapestry. Lots of restaurants for which advance booking is a good idea. Bayeux is a short drive from the D-Day beaches and it is popular with many international visitors as well as French nationals.

It was all great.

This property is very well located and easy to walk for any sightseeing or restaurants. There is parking on-site which is needed in a busy town like Bayeux. The bedroom was large as was the bathroom which had a very big walk in shower and nice big windows. There is a a lot of natural light not only in the room, but also the bathroom. The staff are very accommodating and helpful and seemed to be always available. They assisted with dinner reservations and recommendations.

We booked last minute, so that may account for the price, but it seemed quite high for 2 nights ($1000 USD). However, this was one of the nicest rooms/bathrooms we had during our 2 weeks in France, so the pricing may be in line with higher quality accommodations.

We were warmly welcomed at this 4* hotel converted boys school building where the classroom or dormitories have been transformed into very spacious, well appointed bedrooms. Our room on the first floor had tall windows overlooking gardens, nearby church and parts of the city including in the distance the famous Bayeux Notre Dame Cathedral. The bathroom was large, with a proper massive walk in shower. The breakfast was excellent comprising both traditional continental, other hot breakfast items, fruits and plenty of bread, pastries and cakes. Highly recommended this hotel as a base to explore the Normandy D Day landing beaches and history.

The hostess was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. I think her name was Alex. She let us leave our bags in the office so we could go get a bite to eat after we checked out. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very roomy. The walk out to the street had lovely flowers down to the gate. The breakfast was very nice, they always remembered I was gluten intolerant although the bread here doesn't bother me at all. We will totally recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you very much!

The only thing that could have made it any better would be a pet cow. I love cows!

The owners and staff were really lovely and helpful, they even brought my son a little birthday present (we were there on his 8th birthday). The location was perfect. Out of the noisy area but in short walking distance to the cathedral and main streets with shops and restaurants. Room was lovely and sofa bed comfy enough for sun. Especially loved the bathroom and view of the cathedral. Couldn't have asked for more

Nothing we didn't like. I suppose more could be done with the outside courtyard to make it an even nicer area to sit

Breakfast was fabulous and healthy, not just breads and pastries but plenty of those too! Staff was attentive and friendly. Cleaning person was terrific, cleaned right away as soon as we left our rooms for the day. Loved the outdoor patio! Enjoyed drinks on the patio many nights. Staff helped us with dinner reservations. Everything in the hotel and the hotel rooms seemed brand new and well kept up.

the staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and they went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience. The room itself was very large, the bathroom larger than most we’ve found in Europe and we loved and used the courtyard for cocktails every night. they even let us bring our own wine and food in and use their glasses, wine openers etc. I would highly recommend this hotel.

nothing. only small complaint I had was they didn’t replenish toilet paper or shower soap without us asking. however, they did leave shampoo bottles etc after the first night

We loved our stay at Belle Normandy. The location is perfect, with beautiful grounds right on the edge of town, only a five minute walk to the cathedral and all the shops and restaurants. Our kids enjoyed the basketball hoop and would have stayed at the hotel much longer if they could have! The staff were amazing. They were friendly and helpful on recommendations, and they also seem very proud of the hotel, which was renovated from an old school. It is a very special place, and I highly recommend it.

Our stay was perfect! There wasn't anything I would change.

What a delightful place. An old school converted into luxury rooms at affordable prices. Very attentive staff. We got upgraded as a suprise. Lovely location near the town & cathedral, just a sort walk away. Perfect location for visiting the Bayeux War Cemetery, which was our main reason for visiting the area.
