I stayed at The PuLi in Shanghai and truly enjoyed my experience. The central location is unbeatable, and the styling and décor throughout the hotel are both elegant and calming. The rooms were beautifully maintained, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary snacks and drinks. The staff were generally excellent—warm, professional, and attentive. A special mention to Camille, the Manager, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Her hospitality was a highlight of our stay. I also enjoyed the spa facilities, and the spa manager stood out for her flexibility and helpfulness. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and I look forward to trying out other properties in the same group in different cities.

For a five-star hotel, there are a few cultural adjustments that could make the experience even more inclusive—small gestures like warm greetings can go a long way in helping all guests feel truly at home. While most of the team were gracious, a few interactions felt distant or unengaged. I mentioned this to Camille and she spoke to the staff and also gave us a small gift to remedy the situation.

Some of the areas in the rooms are a bit tired

It’s so relaxed. There is no other word to describe it, it reminded me of the Setai Hotel in Miami. The decor, the spa facilities are amazing, the service - impeccable, the best and the most attentive service I ever seen - and I travel a lot. Location is great too. I really love it.

I am a sensitive sleeper, and you could hear from the corridor if someone shouting in the hallway - and I had annoying neighbors they were arguing a lot at 3 am so I could hear it all. I think this is the only thing annoyed me so much.

I liked the design and the materials and colour palette of the hotel. The room size is also very generous and the general ambience of the hotel is exclusive and inspiring. The "chinoiserie" feel but yet minimalistic makes the hotel unique.

Having an exclusive french restaurant of michelin standards while nice is limited. An exclusive chinese restaurant would add a nice touch. The hot pool in the spa is not hot enough. The hotel wifi doesn't allow you access to western social media.

Best hotel in Shanghai I have ever stayed. The location is excellent, just next to the Jinan Temple, many major malls and trend roads. But what separates it apart is the hotel’s amazing service. From the moment we stepped out of our car to anywhere we went in the hotel, we have been greeted with the warmest help. Special thanks to Hank and Goslin who had been ever so patiently assisting us extending the stay. And to Zoe who went above and beyond to get medication for our little boy. Lastly, the room is just glamorous, so spacious and tasteful decoration.

well designed room. One of the better ones. Enough cabinets for clothes. Luggage is hidden away. not many hotels design it this way. Bed is slightly low but I can live with it. There is a big table that is good for in room dining. Most hotels have tiny tables.

The toilet should have a bidet instead of a power socket.

Great spa area, sauna and steam room -- that are all very relaxing, as most people staying in this hotel are here for business, and literally never use the facilities. :) Come to relax in the aftrenoon, it feels like a Japanese Onsen. :)

The entrance hall is a bit too dark and gloomy any time of the day, but that's the design. Ultimately all the facilities are new, high quality and well maintained. It's a good hotel. Location is also ok.

It's my forth time in the Hotel. Perfect as always! Staff, location, breakfast. Even though they changed the format of the breakfast, it is still good. Restaurant is great for the evening. French cousine. I highly recommend this hotel.

I liked absolutely everything! The hotel is very good, modern, clean, stylish. The location is very convenient. The staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. Room was spacious and had everything one may need during the travels. The facilities are very good, both the spa and the gym. Good choice of breakfast options. It was my second visit to Shanghai, chose the same hotel because I knew it was great from my previous visit. So, highly recommended!

An exceptional stay at The Puli in Shanghai! Perfectly located by JinAn Temple and subway, the hotel offers great convenience. The staff, notably Charlene Yuan, were superb, providing service in fluent Chinese and English. We were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a spacious room, complete with modern amenities. The added luxury of fresh fruit in our room was delightful. The breakfast, with a wide variety of fresh, tasty Western options, was a daily treat. Can't wait to return!
