We were in the area for an event outside the hotel. The hotel was fine, room was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly. Breakfast was served (not buffet) but tasty. We both had Full Irish with coffees.

After the event we arrived back to the hotel and decided given the beautiful sunny evening we'd go for a drink and sit out in the outside seating area however we were declined entry as it was booked for an event, this was disappointing. We had to drink our drinks in the hotel lobby as the bar was full, needless to say we only had the one. Would have been nice if there was part of the outdoor area reserved for hotel residents.

The beds were so comfortable, we had a great night. The staff is just really nice and they always tried to accommodate us.

I really liked the hotel, but as a family with young children, I think is more for a short visit. There was nothing for kids in the hotel or outside and the nearest playground was around 15 - 20 minutes walk away from the hotel. As we stayed 4 nights there, my kids had not much to do and then they get bored and loud. We also had rain almost every day which made it more difficult to walk to the playground. In the restaurant they only had one picture for colouring which they received every evening at dinner, also a little more options wouldn’t hurt I guess.

We arrived later than expected due to a flight delay. Unfortunately we were so late the restaurant was closed. This was not a problem as we were invited to order a take-a-way which we were allowed to eat in the bar. Both Marion on reception & with the help of Padraig this made us feel very welcome. We chose a place out of the way so as not to intrude on the other guests in the bar. But this was so nice as we were able to enjoy our quick dinner at a table, rather than eat in the room. The service overall was very warm from all staff in the bar & again at breakfast. Breakfast was great, I had the mini Irish breakfast which was perfect & just enough, the Porridge was also lovely. The beds were very comfortable to sleep in. The room was of a nice size for 2 people. There was some noise from traffic first thing in the morning (this was from a front facing room 205). Thank you to all, we look forward to a return stay.

Our room was very cosy and comfortable, the shower (over bath) was great, and the bed was good too. The breakfast was fabulous - I enjoyed having table service and not having to queue at a buffet. I inquired about vegan breakfast on booking and was told they had made a note in my booking. When I went for breakfast, I mentioned this and the staff member immediately told me yes, they would love to make a vegan breakfast for me. And they did, and it was really good. Everyone we encountered during our stay was very friendly and helpful.

There was a very strong smell of cleaner or air freshener or something like Frebreze all through the hallway and along the stairs to the first floor. It was breathtaking. I think they must have just recently had the carpets deep-cleaned or something. I was just relieved that this didn't affect the rooms. Whatever substance was used, it was way too strong and lingered for too long - it shouldn't be used in this setting.

I unfortunately was staying in the longcourt because of a bereavement. I was due to stay 2 nights but I had an issue and could only stay the one and it was too late to cancel my second night. I rang reception to speak to them about maybe changing it but I was told because I went through booking.com they couldn't do anything on their side to which I understood. A few hours later I receive an email from a receptionist (sorry but can't remember the name of the legendary receptionist) saying she contacted booking.com on my behalf and was able to change it to one night. Something she took on herself. Il be forever grateful for this as it had been a tough few days with the upcoming funeral. Amazing staff the longcourt have and this added an even better view of the Hotel. Continued success to ye all.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was really great for breakfast and dinner. The room was bigger than I had expected, very spacious with a large adapted bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. Was travelling for business and I found the room to be nice and quiet where I got restful sleeps!

As I had an adapted room, I found it difficult not to get the entire bathroom floor wet when showering. May I make a suggestion of a heavier shower curtain in this room

This was my second stay, as usual everything was superb, the waiter spilled a full pint of juice over my table but I managed to dodge it 🤣. Pork belly was 5*, absolutely amazing, and chicken burger was very tasty. Pancakes for breakfast was great and staff were very friendly and plenty of staff around if I needed anything which was a huge bonus. I would most certainly stay here again next time.

Nothing comes to mind, corridors were a little noisy in the morning with cleaning staff but other than that everything was great.

Room was on the small side (last time we stayed we had a larger room) but bed was comfortable. Pillows are hard (I like them soft) but I realised the next morning that there were more to choose in the wardrobe so that’s my fault. And also, the staff are so lovely that they would have found me a soft one, had I asked. Had a very nice curry in the restaurant served with rice and Naan. But I cannot understand why the chef would not make a fresh naan as the one they served was tasteless and took away from the dish.

We arrived late in the evening and quite stressed from some unfortunate circumstances, and a three-hour drive. Tracey (reception) was instrumental in soothing our woes. She was sympathetic, and very efficient and friendly. Our night was comfortable and undisturbed. Breakfast was excellent. The young waitress was very efficient and communicative. We will be back in Newcastle West, and we will return to Longcourt House Hotel.

There was nothing not to like. We'll be back!

Location near the bus stop was great! It was also very walkable to the city center. Most of the staff - at the front desk and in the dining room were good; the main exception was the woman at the front desk when we checked in. The woman at the front desk in the morning/during the day was especially helpful with answering questions and providing information. The room was quiet.
