A nice location, close to Shannon but out in the country with a nice quiet road to walk on. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom had good water pressure and immediate hot water. Our room was upstairs with a good view of the trees, fields, and livestock The staff were very friendly and helpful although some times they were a little hard to find.
Carrygeery House has obviously seen better days. It needs an extensive overhaul to freshen the place up. It has a large outdoor patio that looks like it could be very nice but needs lots of work. I'm not even sure it is usable right now. The indoors is decorated with period furniture and fixtures. There is a nice bar off with a pleasant place to sit and relax. We chose Carrygeery because of its location as we were going to meet family arriving at Shannon airport the next morning. It is about a 10 minute drive to the airport and a few minutes longer to go into Shannon town.

Loved this Manor type country house. Really quite an amazing surprise. I only booked as a sleep over on the way to Shannon. What a surprise to see it was a very professionally managed establishment. There was a bar and restaurant albeit we were not hungry. The room had a four poster bed. It was so traditional but not contrived like the touristy castles. We slept so well in a fab comfortable bed. The room was very big. Table and chairs, walk in wardrobe/ dressing room. It is a fine country house from a bygone Anglo Irish day. It was Christmas week and there was a display of country Christmas hampers for sale with local produce in the lobby. Very reasonably priced compared to the rubbish in the big shops in Dublin. No pressure to sell either. I would certainly stay again and hopefully have time for breakfast next time. We loved it. Thanks to all the staff.
Nothing. It was great value for money.

We missed our flight so needed a hotel close to airport with 2 rooms. This hotel exceeded our expectations and turned a nightmare day into a fabulous evening. We cannot compliment this hotel enough, the atmosphere was so friendly and you felt you had turned up at a friends house. We sat by the fire with our drinks in one of their cosy lounge areas talking to other guests and then moved to the restaurant to eat. The FOOD was amazing. Our only regret we had to leave before breakfast!

Loved the main house, sitting areas, bar and dining areas. The pastoral views are a treat while dining. The food is outstanding and award winning. The hospitality and service were second to none. I hope to return and stay in a different room in the main house. The house is less than 10 minutes from Shannon airport.
Our room, sycamore, was very humid and smelled musty. We opened windows and it helped. After a shower, the humidity stayed on the bathroom walls for hours. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and clean.

Lovely country house location, yet close to the Airport. Sitting in the breakfast area and looking out over the fields and trees was lovely. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was delicious and delivered with a wonderful smile. We enjoyed the courtyard area.
Wasn’t told there was a side entrance and we had the key. So we kept entering and exiting through the main building until we figured it out.

Very clean; very friendly staff; good breakfast; good dinner. I would come back, and/or recommend it to a friend BUT ONLY IF YOU MAKE THE REPAIRS TO THE BATHROOM, AS DISCUSSED BELOW.
BATHROOM SHOWER WAS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. The shower floor was slippery; the bath mat you provided should have been kept in a more prominent place so it could be seen and used. EVEN MORE DANGEROUS were two braces, screwed to the wall (probably supports for a missing grab bar). EACH brace had 4 sharp, projected corners. If a person slipped, or even just brushed against them, they could suffer a SEVERE CUT. This should be fixed IMMEDIATELY. This is a major problem and I would not accept this room again if I were to return. It also prevents me from recommending the property to a friend until this is fixed. Also, you should have throw rugs on the marble floor which can be slippery when wet.

We actually pulled into the wrong entrance and the owner's son came out to greet us and send us to the right entrance. The room was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was delicious (including fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, and cereal options upon entering the dining area) and we were able to get gluten free full breakfast options, which were wonderful, too. The staff was friendly and helpful, including providing wonderful directions to our next stop. The young servers in the restaurant were very courteous and professional. The grounds were beautiful and we especially liked the seclusion of the Carrygerry Country House. We were able to get out for a morning run/walk and did not have to worry about traffic.
The bed was a little soft.

The person greeting me was very friendly.
The furniture and carpeting and everything felt a little tired as opposed to charmingly old. Was awaked at 3 am by snoring from another guest in an adjoining room. I arrived at about 9 pm which was not a problem and, told them that, sadly, I had to leave at 5:45 am, so I never got to taste the award-winning breakfast that was included. I don't fault them for not making one, but a small adjustment to the fee would have been nice. I stayed there because of proximity to the airport, but we warned that the taxi fees to and from were 22 pounds and 30 pounds respectively.

The first place that I stayed when I visited Ireland last year - it was so wonderful then, and still is today. Gillian makes every effort to ensure that you have a great stay. It is a short ride to the SNN airport. Restful surroundings in the country. Famous for their breakfasts and dinners. Dining room heavenly. Small but relaxing bar. Larger social room for special occasions. Going back here whenever I fly in or out of SNN.

Hosts, location, surroundings, ponies :) The salmon meal when we arrived after 8pm was very welcome and really good. It was very convenient to leave the property quietly for an airport drop off at 3.30am and return again an hour later without requiring assistance.
Free Wifi was very hit and miss and having no password quite risky to use. In fairness did not spot the paid wifi option. Matresses could be bit better but adequate for one night stay.
