Talk about The Host and Hostess with The Mostess - they certainly welcomed and looked after us at Knockaderry House! The House is circa 1835 (obviously modernised!) and so well-landscaped that it feels miles from anywhere. While the House is a short 15 min drive (not walk) from downtown Ennis, the distance is not enough to dissuade from returning to see the Ennis sights. While there, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the historic and lovely Old Ground Hotel. Our visiting The Poets Corner pub/restaurant was at the suggestion of our Knockaderry host, and it was a spot-on idea!

Gerry was super accommodating, given we had just arrived from the States at 5 a.m. He stored our luggage and gave us tips for things to see in town... despite being busy with breakfast for his current guests. The room was wonderfully quiet and super cozy to catch up on needed sleep. Having coffee, tea, biscuits, and other trays available made the stay even more enjoyable! The private shower and bathroom were very clean.

Breakfast was nice (I loved the scones, cereal options, and fruit)...my husband would have enjoyed a bit more protein options.

What lovely place! It's an old house with just a few rooms situated to the NE of the town centre. Beautifully decorated with a lot of old-world charm. Gerry the owner is great, take his advice on driving into town, which is a short drive. Best part was breakfast, where conversation with other guests was the norm. Only ever get that in small friendly places. Ennis was lovely too, again take Gerry's recommendations on restaurants.

Beautiful house, historic stone walls and floors. Bedroom suites were carefully done up and very clean. Bed and bedding were extremely comfortable.

Continental breakfast consisted of a very nice yogurt, granola and fruit dish set at each place setting, juice and tea or coffee and a basket of bread and scones. Bread products were white flour only. Cereals and milk were an available. No other options were offered for mainly protein eaters or the gluten sensitive. The property is not visibly labeled as a B&B so it is not easily identified from the street.

We can't praise Knockaderry House enough! This 19th-century gem has been meticulously restored, preserving its original features and oozing the charm and character of a bygone era. Gerry and Mary are exceptional hosts, epitomizing hospitality and going the extra mile for their guests. The breakfast they served was a delight, featuring freshly prepared scones, an array of fresh fruits, and delectable freshly baked pastries. Gerry's attention to detail in accommodating our Halal dietary requirements was truly impressive. Knockaderry house is a beautiful historic building set in a quiet neighborhood about a half hour walk from city center. The room had so many lovely touches including a beautiful tea tray. The breakfast was amazing! Delicious and beautiful! It was all set for us in the dining room when we came down. Gerry kindly included gluten-free items for me, so that I had just as lovely a breakfast as my husband. Delicious local yogurt with fresh peaches and raspberries, scones, butter, jam and wonderful coffee!

everything was very nice and with attention to the smallest details, we found everything we could need, and when we arrived Gerry allowed us to dine on the outside table since we had bought something to eat at the supermarket and he immediately took care of bringing us fresh water and all the crockery we might need. Throughout the house we found small bowls with chocolates and biscuits that made us feel truly pampered. Breakfast was my favorite moment, everything was delicious; and then Gerry offered to give us a ride to the city center and he was very kind.

I had a very pleasant stay. I highly recommend. I took the opportunity to stay there during the bank holiday on 05 May. The hosts were attentive, the house is very charming and quiet. The room was comfortable. The home-made breakfast was good.

Just perhaps the breakfast was a little bit early for me, who has a small appetite in the morning. I finished eating around 09:30 and checkout was at 11am.

Was welcomed on arrival by the proprietor Gerry. Gerry gave me a personal tour of the premises and was very welcoming. The following morning I was presented with one of the best continental breakfasts I had in a while. All of the products were very well presented and laid out, in what was a very homely atmosphere, with Gerry in attendance.

Location lovely and quiet but quite tucked away and hard to find initially.Room lovely,spotlessly clean,comfortable beds.Not sure that a glass table with crystal on a tiled floor is the best idea in the bathroom.Breakfast nice,bread delicious,maybe toast or access to a toaster could be an idea? Would have preferred a TV in bedroom,but all in all a lovely stay.
