The location was very nice. We stayed in the Boutique Hotel across the street from the main hotel and had a wonderful view of the castle mountain from our room on the 5th floor. Quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the old town centre.

Unfortunately, the WiFi was not working during the entire stay, which was quite inconvenient. Also, it would have been really nice to have either a small coffee machine or a kettle in the room. Without it, guest have to head to the bar across the street just to get a cup of coffee or tea - at a cost of at least €3.50 (!) - in the evening. We were also surprised to have only soap but no shampoo in the bathroom shower. Underground parking, with limited spaces at a premium price, proved to be complicated as the room card did not always work and other guests seem to block off spaces with beverage crates…

Very quiet; really close to Alt Stadt and the cathedral, with the markets, shops, restaurants; best shower (rainfall) ever! buffet style breakfast with all choices of food (smoked salmon anyone?), replenished all the time. We are repeat customers.

Checking-in: it would have been useful to be told to go to their other hotel directly to check-in. The reception to the main building is under renovation, so for both check in and breakfast we had to go across the street. No big deal, but it would have been easy to mention in the email exchange with the hotel before we arrived. Also, for the Earth's sake, turn down the heat! We turned off ours in our room and it was plenty warm (in February).

I stayed in room 505 of the new part of the Design Hotel. The room was lovely, right under the roof with a bit of a view of the Münster. The wardrobe was a little small with only 4 hangers, definitely not enough for my 2 months Europe trip (from Australia). The breakfast was sensational, probably one of the best I ever encountered anywhere, fresh fruit, lots of cereals, different types of coffee/tea, lots of different cheeses and cold meat, even salmon (and Prosecco, if that’s your thing in the morning). The location was also pretty good, only a short walk into the centre as well as parks and the old cemetery nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

At some stage I asked for a couple of tea bags for my room because I was still battling jet lag, waking up in the middle of the night, and was told that could not be done. It would be great if tea/coffee facilities were in all rooms, as many hotels in Germany offer these days.

Absolutely spotless and very light and airy room in the hotel which was in a great location, very close to the Aldstadt/Münster and everything you could wish to see in Freiburg. The staff on the Reception desk were all lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent - a huge choice of very good quality food, with a nice outdoor terrace on which to eat. We really could not fault this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Nothing at all!

Good location as only a 10min walk to the city centre. Air conditioner in the room was amazing! We were on the fourth floor and had skylight windows but the room had black out blinds which were proper black out. When we arrived we asked reception to help find us a doctor - she was very helpful! The receptionist phoned around and managed to get us an appointment.

The room could do with a lick of paint as the walls were a bit scuffed and there was chunks of wallpaper ripped off one wall. The car park is round the corner which was ok except trying to figure out how it worked and how to pay was a bit confusing as there wasn’t any English translations. Breakfast wasn’t the greatest and there were wasps everywhere!

Room was very comfortable. Location was right next to old city. The breakfast was great. Everything was fresh. Staff made sure there was always avaialbity of everything. The reception staff were also very helpful and friendly. We used the parking of the hotel which was convenient. We had an electric car and the hotel also offers charging at an amazing price! Better that any charging stations in the city. Suggest to call to find out their latest price.

The ONLY negative thing was that the coffee from the automatic machine during breakfast was not that good. We had many times coffee from automated machines in the past and for us this cappuccino was not undrinkable. We tried on another day and it was the same. The other guests seem to drink the coffee with no complaints so maybe we are used to a higher quality. It is a shame since the breakfast at hotel was great.

Very nice location, close to the city center and to the Stadt Park. Very convenient in-house parking option. We stayed in the Boutique Hotel side. I don’t know the room quality from the other main hotel as of they are next to each other Nice and friendly staff. Good breakfast

First day we had some hairs on the pillow and in the bes from my daughters room. Our room was without any problems. They immediately fixed it and during our one week stay we didn’t had any complaints about the cleanliness

Underground parking is an asset, but not cheap and awkward access: you have to stop in front of the gate, descend, bring you keycard close to the reader to open the gate and then go back to the car and drive in.

3 hotels of the chain one near/across the other. Confussing. Ours did not have it’s own reception or breakfast room. Had to go across the street. Our room with terrace actually was underground… at -1 floor (!).

This is a very affordable, modern, comfortable option for staying in Freiburg. You aren't in the historic district, but it's 5 minutes away. You are still close to restaurants and shops. There is also a lovely park a block away - where you can then climb Schlossberg which is really cool. The room is nice and big, clean and comfortable. We even had a deck. It's modern and we felt it was very nice. The breakfast is so good - so many options and high quality. And the staff were all very kind and helpful.

We had a very big room that looked clean and was well furnished. The windows had shutters, which made the room really dark (great for light sleepers such as myself). Comfortable bathroom with a good shower. Within walking distance of the city center (which is very much recommended!). Nice bakery in the same street that has very friendly staff and a great selection of bread rolls and cake for breakfast, both takeaway and order in.

I had to give a copy of my passport, which I thought was weird, as no hotel does that anymore these days. That copy was then misplaced by a staff member, and they asked me for a new one (which I refused). When we checked out, I was charged for a breakfast we didn’t have. They took it off the bill in the end. Although the facilities were good, it felt like their administration needs some work.
