Fabulous location in a period house opposite tidal beach and nearby harbour. Perfect for Strangford Lough and N.T. properties including Mount Stewart House, Rowallane Garden etc We stayed here as 2 couples and it was perfect for our needs. Christa was a fabulous welcoming host, her home is beautiful and furnished to a very high standard. The beds are so comfortable and well sized. Christa also assisted in giving us recommendations for our evening meal. Saltwater Brig food was excellent. Breakfast was a lovely experience, delicious Irish cooked items and plenty of cereals, preserves etc, including there own produced honey.

Some guests may prefer a larger bathroom, we thought they were a little tight but otherwise extremely clean.

This historic house has been lovingly restored by the owners. It is full of original features and the furniture, furnishings and decor is all in keeping with the age of the property. A very comfortable bed with quality bedding and a pristine en suite with a great shower made for an enjoyable stay. The hospitality extended to having the use of a delightful, cosy sitting room. Breakfast, served in the beautiful dining room overlooking the sea and gardens was superb including fresh berries, yogurt, granola and a full cooked breakfast. The Old Vicarage is an absolute gem in a beautiful setting and is a pleasure to stay in. There was attention to detail in every aspect of our stay. The hosts are welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Lovely place, not modern but very quaint with a throw back feel to it. The hostess Christa was brilliant, bringing a homely feel to my stay, and couldn’t do enough for me. Breakfast was superb. Parking no issue and for both my requirements, a peaceful few days, and easy striking distance to Belfast, met my needs. I imagine the place will appeal to the Americans etc as it is an old school themed BnB.

Where do I start.. the building has been lovingly restored by its current owners with great care to retain all the period features, it felt a real privilege to stay in. Christa & Damian were the perfect hosts, very welcoming, warm and friendly. The room was delightful with epic views and the breakfast was spot on. Our only disappointment was that we weren’t able to stay longer, due to our own time restraints. However, we will definitely be back..! Thank you so much.

A very friendly welcome with tea and sweat treats brought up on arrival. A lovely house and decor. We liked the flag board on the hallway to show guests' origin. A wonderful breakfast choice. Entertainment provided by the peacock, guinea fowl, and chickens. A great view out to sea at breakfast.

Three minor things to not make it excellent. A wobbly shower fixing, a socket for the kettle, didn't work, and slightly grubby windows for the sea view at breakfast.

This is a lovely b&b situated on the edge of Ballywalter. The owner is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, offered us little extras like tea and cakes on arrival and the use of a wine cooler. The whole house and our room was beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished with lots of extras to add to its comfort. Breakfast was 1st class, buffet area as well as a cooked breakfast with lovely fresh locally sourced ingredients. There was excellent parking available in lovely grounds

There was no negatives about our stay, a wonderful experience.

Christa and her husband have lovingly restored the Old Vicarage. It has a wonderful charm about it and is at the same time very cozy and comfortable.

I loved the snug with a nice fireplace that Christa lit for us. The rooms were exceptional and the bathrooms were brand new, clean and had all the things we needed to be comfortable. She also went above and beyond to provide my daughter non-dairy products during our stay.

The architecture of the house together with quality fittings and furnishings. The friendliness of the hostess - easy to get along with - bright and cheerful. All items of detailed needs well provided for. The seaview, lawns and surroundings. Bright double-aspected room .

The stairs could be a bit tricky, but the hostess was quick to help and assist. A careful approach to breakfast provision to minimise waste - home economics, but everything carefully thought out.

Lovely quiet location, originality and period features. Value for money and excellent host with excellent breakfast. Bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the cold drinks in the fridge. Lovelly wildlife and surroundings.

Sink in room was a little small when getting washed in morning, but this was a minor thing.

We visited Ballywalter for a romantic getaway and the 'Old Vicarage' met above and beyond our expectations. The house and the rooms is decorated with taste, crisp, Egyptian cotton bedding sheets, impeccably clean, lovely views from windows. Fell in love with the wee garden and the chubby hens! Christa was very attentive and we really appreciated that she treated us tea and sweets when we arrived. She even had prepared for me gluten free breakfast and dessert, asking way ahead. Christa hank you so much for your hospitality, we will be back!
